“Um,” Gordon fell silent upon hearing. As tempted as he was by the prospects of this, one thing toconsider was that Cynthion Group was related to the Thompsons, and his brother–in–law, Darius, wasclose to Yuri!
If Gordon were to betray Darius and join forces with Joel against the Cynthion Group, Darius would notbe pleased about this and would surely punish him if he found out!
Besides, Snow was his ex–girlfriend, and his conscience could not allow him to harm her!
However, now that Joel decided to target Iris and Snow, he knew that Snow would suffer an evenworse fate if she were to fall into Joel and Seth’s hands!
Because of this, he had a lot to think about and did not know what was the right choice!
“Vice President Bailey, I know why you’re hesitating. Don’t worry, Cynthion Group belongs to Leon, notYuri, and even if Darius were to find out about all this, he could not possibly do much harm to you overan outsider like Leon!” Joel could tell that Gordon was hesitating because of this and quickly tried toconvince him otherwise.
“Yes, Joel is right! Vice President Bailey, Darius demoted you even though he did not have evidence ofyour wrongdoing, and since he has no regard for your feelings at all, why should you care about him?This is a once–in–a–lifetime opportunity, and if you miss out, there’s no way something like this couldcome around again!” Seth joined in.
“Um,” the color drained from Gordon’s face.
He already began to hold a grudge against Darius for attacking him and demoting him to the LogisticsDepartment, and now, Seth’s words struck a chord within him.
He could not help but be even more tempted by the prospects of this practically flawless plan!
“Vice President Bailey, friends don’t stick around forever, but money and power will! I can guaranteeyou that once we get rid of Cynthion Group, the Hughes will reap the benefits as well, and ElderHughes would surely be pleased about this! Even if Darius were to blame you for betraying him, therewould be nothing he could do about it!” Joel added.
“Is that true? Are you saying that Elder Hughes will change his mind about me if I pull this off?” Gordonwas growing more and more excited by this.
The reason he broke things off with Snow and chose to get married to his current wife was to use theHughes. ‘ influence to revive the Baileys! This was his only dream, and winning over Elder Hughes wasthe first step in achieving his goal!
One could only imagine how excited he was by the prospect of this!
“Of course it’s true! Cynthion Group’s influence is not to be underestimated, and once we bring themdown, the three of us shall split the profits evenly. So long as the Cynthion Group ceases to exist, theThompsons will no longer reign over the Southern region, and we Hiltons and you Hughes will becomethe new kings!” Joel gave him a confident smile.

“What is it?” Joel was curious to hear what Gordon had to say.
“It’s simple. Snow and I go way back, and once we capture her, my sole request is that she be handedover to me,” Gordon replied.
“Yes, that’s no problem at all!” Joel agreed immediately. After all, his primary target was Iris, and Snowwas simply just an accessory. Thus, he did not care much about her at all, and handing her over to
Gordon would not change anything!
With that, the three of them spent the rest of their night chattering away, discussing and finalizing theirplans for the ultimate kidnapping!
