Chapter 84

"Stop lying to me. I specifically asked the cook to make soup for you so that you could eat more," said Wrenn

Mr. Frederic snorted coldly, "Why do you feel pity for him? This youngster doesn't take his health seriously, hedoesn't even listen to my arrangements!"

Jean heard this, and glared at Mr. Federic before questioning him, "Your arrangement? So, you arranged mymarriage without my consent?"

"Why can't I do it?" said Mr. Frederic. "Mr. Cooper said that the girl from the Garcia family is destined to be withyou," Mr. Frederic replied coldly. "I only want you to get married. Is it that hard? Moreover, you will also getmarried sooner or later!"

Mr. Frederic was stubborn, so Jean replied coldly, "That depends on who I want to get married with! To marry awoman I have never met before makes me uncomfortable! I am aware that you planned my wedding without mypermission. No matter what you do, I will not agree with it!"

Mr. Frederic became furious, saying, "You! How dare you!" When Wrenn noticed that the two were about toargue, she quickly yelled, "Stop it! Jean returned home to have dinner with us, not to quarrel!" She then said afew words to Jean.

"Don't always argue with your father; isn't he doing this for you? Take a look at how much his hair has grayed inthe last few years. He worries about you all the time. Can't you two get along?" said Wrenn.

Looking at Mr. Frederic's white hair, Jean was stunned.

Mr. Frederic stopped talking as Wrenn sighed at his silence. They had always cared for each other, but theyrefused to speak nicely to each other. The butler arrived just in time to inform them that dinner was ready. Wrennnovelbin

nodded and instructed the two to wash their hands before eating. Wrenn kept pushing them to eat more as they atedinner together. Wrenn stared at Jean, and was shocked to discover that his appetite was quite good, certainlymuch better than previously. He used to eat only half a bowl of rice at most, but today he ate two bowls!

"Joanna reported to me that you got better; I don't believe it. I thought she was comforting me, but I didn't expectit to be true!" Wrenn exclaimed. She was shocked and overjoyed. "It appears that the treatment is beginning towork!" said Mr. Frederic, who was also startled.

Jean explained, "Recently, I found a new doctor who is very good at treating my condition." Wrenn nodded, witha satisfied smile on her face, and said, "Joanna mentioned it before, claiming that you met this new doctor byhappenstance. Even though her medical skills are excellent, Joanna has been treating you for two years. You haveto keep her by your side. She is the expert, and she knows your condition. I am more relieved knowing she's byyour side."

When Jean heard this, he scowled and said coldly, "Did Joanne talk to you?" He was dissatisfied with Joanna'sactions. "No, she didn't tell me anything," Wrenn said hurriedly. "It's all my idea. Joanna genuinely cares for you;there's no danger in allowing her to stay by your side; just listen to me, okay?"
