Chapter 55 Anticipation

Chapter 55 Anticipation

"Giggles, giggles, giggles!" Ranita's dreams were filled with laughter that night.

She used to have mixed feelings about the unexpected pregnancy, but now she found herself filledwith anticipation and love for the baby.

The next morning when Dylan arrived, Ranita shared her discovery from the previous night. Dylan'seyes widened in excitement as he asked eagerly, "Really? Can I feel it?"

As Dylan reached out to touch Ranita's belly, Steve grabbed his hand and pulled him back. "Whatare you doing? Men and women don't touch like that! You have some nerve!" Steve raised aneyebrow.

Ever since finding out they were on the same side of things, Dylan no longer saw Steve as anoutsider. He hooked his arm around Steve's neck and grinned mischievously. "Don't you want tofeel the baby too?"

Of course Steve did want to feel it but he was a doctor after all!novelbin

Ranita was only two months pregnant so what she felt probably wasn't fetal movement yet, butseeing how happy she looked made him not want to spoil her mood.

"It is indeed amazing but let's not scare ourselves since the baby is still small," said Steve after apause before pulling away from Dylan's grip while muttering coldly under his breath, "Don't get tooclose. We're not that familiar."

Steve was quite familiar with Chris, but he didn't really have much of a relationship with Dylan.

The main reason was that the Webster family dynamics were quite complicated! Chris was theeldest son of the Webster family, and his biological mother passed away. Dylan, on the other hand, was the child of the second Mrs. Webster! It wouldn't have been a big deal, but the fact that thesecond Mrs. Webster came into the family with a child made Mrs. Webster and Dylan looked downupon.

The privileged second-generation individuals in Kurima didn't really associate much with Dylan. However, Dylan's good nature and friendly personality had allowed him to make many friends on hisown. Additionally, having the support of the Webster family and his own business endeavors, hehad been able to establish himself with confidence and success.

"Steve, why are you being so polite? If you're friends with Ranita, then you're my friend too!" saidDylan before suddenly remembering Shannon. His expression turned serious as he asked, "Youdon't have to go back Sugar Media today, do you?"

"Mia came back so she'll take care of it," replied Ranita who also didn't want any more dealings withShannon - it was just too frustrating for them both.

"From now on, we should avoid anything related to Shannon..." Dylan didn't finish his sentencebefore Olivia called.

Ranita answered the phone and found out that Mia wasn't answering her calls, and Sugar Mediawas already blowing up their studio phone.

"You keep looking for Mia, I'll go there first." Ranita had no choice but to go to Sugar Media.

Dylan was so angry that he ranted while walking Ranita to the door. "I'm telling you, if Shannonbullies you, come find me! I'll teach her a lesson!"

"Aren't you afraid of Brendon?"

"Why should I be afraid of him?! What can he do to me?" Dylan was confident. Although hisrelationship with Chris was average at best, he still had some face as part of the Webster family.

"Walk slower and take a break every once in a while."

"You're right!" Ranita nodded without arguing. "I'll remember."

As soon as Ranita entered Sugar Media, she ran into two people she didn't want to see - Shannonand Holly.

"Tsk tsk! Ranita, you're so impressive! You've hooked Mr. Webster so quickly? Your reputation as abitch isn't unfounded." Holly started with sarcasm. "Last time Mr. Webster protected you... I wonderif you were already together back then? Shameless!"
