Chapter 44 Romantically Involved?

"If he says anything strange to you, just ignore him!" Ranita apologized as she looked at Steve. "I'msorry for causing you trouble."

Steve skillfully wrapped her finger with a bandage and applied some ointment on it. The coolness ofthe ointment immediately reduced the pain.

"Ranita, even though I am friends with him, who I date is my own decision! Don't think too muchabout it."

Ranita felt a bit touched.

"Thank you!" Ranita sincerely expressed her gratitude to those who showed kindness to her. "I'vecaused you trouble. If he gets angry, you can blame it on me..."

Steve adjusted his glasses and smiled at Ranita. "Don't worry, everything will work out. Let me takeyou back to the hospital for an examination."

Steve drove her back to the hospital. Being pregnant, Ranita easily felt tired. She nestled in theback seat and, after a while, surprisingly fell asleep, swaying with the motion of the car.

Dazedly, she heard Steve calling out to her, "Ranita! We're here!"

"Hmm?" Looking at Steve right in front of her made Ranita feel a little confused! Without his glasseson, his beautiful eyes were revealed while his body had a refreshing scent that made her feelcomfortable.

Steve was actually quite nice.

Steve arranged for someone to take an X-ray for Ranita. Fortunately, there were no bone injuries, but she still needed a few days of rest. Applying some ointment and taking oral medication topromote blood circulation and remove stasis would be sufficient for her recovery.

"I bought dinner for you so eat first! I'll go get your medicine!"novelbin

In the office, whenever she heard "blood circulation" or "stasis removal", Ranita's heart would beatfaster than usual as she anxiously grabbed onto Steve's sleeve, "Dr. Pearson!"

"Hmm?"

"Dr. Pearson... there's something that I want to ask you not to tell anyone." With pursed lips andhesitation written all over face, she told him about being pregnant.

Steve hesitated for a moment, but quickly regained his composure. "I'll have someone change themedication," he said.

"Dr. Pearson..."

"Don't worry! I won't say anything!" Steve turned around and suddenly pressed his palm against herhead, gently rubbing it as he advised her to eat.

After all the commotion, it was getting late.

Ranita had to hurry to the Bulgari Hotel, and of course Steve objected, but Ranita insisted on goingand Steve had no choice but to drive her there.

"Ranita, you can't wear high heels on your ankle anymore!" Steve frowned. "I'll find someone tohelp..."

"It's okay! I feel much better now! Dr. Pearson, your ice pack works wonders!"

Steve was helpless as he helped her open the car door and personally assisted her out whilewhispering softly, "Don't force yourself. If you feel uncomfortable later, give me a call!"

Ranita chuckled with bent eyes, "Dr. Pearson, you're such a gentle person."

Gentle?

Steve raised an eyebrow but didn't show what he was thinking, "You're my friend and my patient;naturally I'll treat you well."

"Well then I'm off!" Ranita waved at him before heading towards the hotel when she noticed afamiliar car parked beside her.

The car door opened, revealing a pair of straight and slender legs stepping out. The neatly tailoredsuit accentuated the unmistakably tall and well-built figure, with broad shoulders and a narrowwaist. Combined with that face, which seemed to be favored by the creator, just one glance wasenough to make hearts flutter.

"Brendon?" Steve greeted him while Brendon's attention fell directly onto Ranita as he asked coldly,"Steve, why are you with Ranita?"

"Oh my! Steve, and look who's here, Ranita! What a coincidence!" Just then, Shannon cheerfullystepped out of the car, linking arms with Brendon, and with a beaming smile, she asked Steve,"Steve, are you and Ranita getting romantically involved?"
