Chapter 247 Disgusting Beyond Words

Chapter 247 Disgusting Beyond Words

"Okay, I'll give it a try!"

Since she had never really tried it before, Ranita decided to give it a shot. It was getting late, soBrendon called ahead and had the restaurant save a roast duck for them.

It looked delicious, but Ranita forgot that she was still in the early stages of morning sickness. Assoon as she saw the food, waves of nausea hit her.

"Ugh!" Ranita couldn't hold back and rushed to the bathroom to vomit. When she came out, her facewas pale and Brendon frowned at her.

"What's wrong? Why is your face so pale?"

"It's nothing... I just felt sick for a moment."

"You don't have acute gastritis again, do you? You've been skipping meals lately... let's eatsomething now and then I'll take you to see a doctor later! And don't wait until it gets worse like lasttime."

Ranita had experienced acute gastritis before but didn't go to the hospital until two days later whenBrendon found her passed out in their office during overtime work. If he hadn't taken her to thehospital in time, things could have ended badly.

Thinking back on those times made Ranita smile wryly. Her pale face with lips curved into anawkward smile looked pitiful.

"You're still smiling?" Brendon scolded irritably but quickly ordered some light congee from thekitchen for her anyway.

"I'm really okay. There's no pain," said Ranita after much persuasion from Brendon not to go see adoctor yet again this time around.

After finishing one bowl of congee which filled up her stomach nicely, Ranita looked at all of theuntouched dishes on their table with regret, "What a waste! I'm such an unlucky person who cannever enjoy good food!"

Fortunately they didn't order too much or else it would've been even more wasteful than everbefore.

Brendon saw how disappointed she was about not being able to finish everything, so he called overtheir waiter and asked him pack up everything left over, "We can eat them tonight without wastinganything."

"Oh by the way," said Brendon while driving his car afterwards. "I want take you somewherespecial."

Brendon was driving, and Ranita was chatting with Eve. Unable to resist, she sent a photo to Eve,which infuriated Eve to the point of accusing her of displaying their love.

However, in the end, Eve still gave Ranita some face and praised her, "You look really beautiful!"

"Were you happy when he took you out today?"

Ranita wasn't unhappy per se. However, this kind of happiness felt like stolen moments that lackedsubstance or meaning - making things feel somewhat duller than what they should be.

She replied calmly, "I just want to cherish every moment we spend together."

Her words sounded sad even though nobody knew what would happen next – making everyone'sheart ache unbearably…

"Who are you chatting with so seriously?" Brendon called out to Ranita, who snapped back to realityand put her phone down. "Oh, just chatting with Eve for a bit," she replied.

Eve stared at her phone for a long time, tapping her fingers back and forth before finally settling onthe photo. She scrolled through her contacts and sent the photo directly to Shannon.

As soon as she saw the typing notification on the other end, Eve immediately retracted the photoand wrote an ambiguous message, "Oops, sorry about that! I sent it by mistake!"

Shannon called Eve right away.

"What was that picture you just sent me all about?" she asked in a soft voice tinged with hurtfeelings. Accusations seemed to come naturally.

"It was nothing," Eve chuckled dismissively. "I already took it back anyway. Just pretend like younever saw it."

"But I did see it!" Shannon protested softly but firmly. "You did that on purpose, didn't you?"novelbin

Eve rolled her eyes in exasperation and mimicked Shannon's nauseating tone of voice as shegasped out three breaths between each word, "Oh my gosh Miss Murphy! Don't be so quick toaccuse me! I really did send it by mistake! Be more magnanimous please. Sending one picture isn'tillegal or anything... You're not actually angry, are you?"
