Shannon looked ethereal in her dress today, with a small V-neck design at the heart that added ahint of desire to her already alluring presence.
Holly disagreed, "Shannon, you're just too kind. Why bother with Ranita? And you too, Brendon.She's got nothing to do with us anymore. Why are you even looking for her?"
"I just think she should come out of hiding! Her divorce date is coming up soon and if she doesn'tshow up, it'll be postponed again!"
Holly had strong negative feelings towards Ranita.
Shannon smiled at Holly, "Holly, don't say that! But, what is Ranita thinking? Even if she really wantsto leave, she should at least let us know, right? Disappearing like this all of a sudden is makingeveryone worried."novelbin
"I'm really worried too," Shannon said softly but every word seemed to weigh heavily on Brendon'sheart.
Brendon tried to contain his anger and said firmly, "Shannon, I have things I need to attend to rightnow. You and Holly should head back first."
"What?! But we have the celebration party later! If you don't come, Shannon will be sodisappointed!" Holly protested. "And seriously though... Ranita has some nerve causing all thistrouble!"
Quickly trying to smooth things over, Shannon spoke up, "Brendon, please don't blame Holly. Sheonly said those things because she was afraid I'd be upset. It's normal for you to worry about Ranita
since she is a woman who is also beautiful - it would be terrible if something bad happened whilewe were searching for her."
"Brendon, go ahead and take care of your business. When we find Ranita, we can celebratetogether then," Shannon continued kindly yet assertively.
Brendon felt guilty as he whispered lowly, "I'm sorry Shannon... I really don't feel like attending thecelebration right now but I'll make it up somehow."
After Brendon left, Caleb gave Shannon a bracelet worth 300, 000 dollars before leaving himself.
She took several pictures and posted them online which made some people on her contact list quitejealous, including Allen.
He was still in Qaesburg feeling frustrated about not being able to contact Ranita without riskinganything else.
It wasn't until after Brenden left that he noticed an unanswered phone call waiting for him on hisphone screen.
It was a strange phone call, lasting only two seconds before it hung up. The location showed that itcame from Grafsa State! This was his private cellphone, and only intimate people knew about it!Brendon immediately thought of Ranita, but when he called back, the phone indicated that it wasturned off.

Just then, Caleb called.
"Mr. Stuart, there's a Mr. Goodman on the line. He says he's Miss Bowman's lawyer and hassomething important to discuss with you!" Caleb took a deep breath and spoke in a tense voice, "It's
about Miss Bowman."
Was this related to Ranita?
Brendon sat up straight and started his car as he said, "Have him wait for me at the office. I'll bethere soon!"
Brendon drove straight to Stuart's Corp.
He rushed into the office and asked anxiously, "Do you know where Ranita is?"

Ranita hadn't eaten all day; she hadn't even had water.
She lay in bed tossing and turning. Her stomach hurt like she was being stabbed repeatedly. Shecouldn't fall asleep no matter what she did.
The pain washed over her like waves crashing against rocks.
Ranita felt groggy. She wondered if Brendon had really forgotten about her or if he wouldn't comelooking for her anymore? But still, she thought of him.
In the quiet night suddenly came chaotic footsteps. Through bleary eyesight, the door slammedopen as familiar long legs walked towards her...
