Ranita called for a cleaning service and threw the small table out, then sprayed an entire bottle ofair freshener. The scent was so strong that even Ranita couldn't bear it.
Deciding to leave, Ranita headed to the hospital to visit Eve with a bouquet of sunflowers in hand.As she waited for the elevator, she heard Amiya's voice behind her say, "Ranita?"
Ranita frowned and took a few steps back without saying anything.
Amiya sneered, "I was just looking for you. Since we've met now, let's talk."
"Sorry, I have something else going on right now and can't entertain you," Ranita replied curtly. Sheused to be at Amiya's beck and call because of Brendon but now she couldn't be bothered.
"Since you don't know your place," Amiya threatened as she waved her hand. Her bodyguardimmediately stepped forward towards Ranita.
They took Ranita to a corner in the rooftop garden where Amiya sat in her wheelchair with a coldexpression as she looked up and down at Ranita.
Ranita was indeed impeccable in terms of looks, with a high nose, large eyes, fair skin, and anaturally cold temperament. Brendon, having been with her for several years, had some reluctanceto part with her, which was understandable.
"Ranita, did you arrange for someone to bump into Shannon?"
"It has nothing to do with me!" Without hesitation or thought, Ranita replied. "Mrs. Stuart, it is illegalto restrict citizens' freedom by means of coercion."
"Heh! Are you threatening me?"Amiya laughed lightly. "Have we done anything to you? I haven'tdone anything!"

"What do you want from me, Mrs. Stuart?" Ranita asked.
Amiya wouldn't come looking for her without reason; surely something must have happened?
Pushing closer in her wheelchair, Amiya glared resentfully at Ranita and said, "Because of you, I amsuffering here in the hospital! Because of you, Brendon refused Shannon's engagement proposaland even defied me, resulting in my hospitalization." Pausing briefly, Amiya stared at Ranita beforesaying, "Do you think you should die?"
Brendon refused Shannon's engagement proposal? How could this be possible!
A mixture of heavy emotions swirled inside Ranita like mud bubbles. It felt both oppressive yet alsodifficult to suppress some degree of pleasure too.
"Ranita, this is my final warning to you. Stay away from Brendon! If you dare to shamelessly clingonto him again..." As Amiya's voice trailed off lightly, the bodyguard stepped forward and twistedRanita's hands, pushing her towards Amiya.
Amiya pinched Ranita's chin with her fingers and her gaze slowly became more sinister. "If yourdelicate little face gets ruined, it would be such a pity!"
"And these legs... human bones are fragile. Who knows if they'll break just by walking on the street?You might never stand up again!"
Amiya's threat sent chills down Ranita's spine.
When she was at Boulderland Mansion, she had heard that due to a car accident, Amiya hadunstable mental health. The Stuart family members basically dared not provoke her for fear of anyextreme actions she might take.
Initially when Ranita married into the family, Amiya had a big argument with Wyatt about it andeventually compromised by going to a rehabilitation center for three months.
It took a while for Ranita to come back to reality.
She let out a sigh and turned around only to see Steve in his white coat. "What are you doing heresunbathing alone?"
Ranita smiled. "Dr. Pearson? What brings you here?"
"A little kid said he saw a pretty lady being bullied so he called me over as backup but I guess I wastoo late." Steve paused before handing over some cotton candy. "The kid said this is for you sodon't be sad."
