Shannon couldn't believe what she had just heard. Brendon was asking her to go back and rest,without even offering to escort her?
"Brendon, can you at least walk me back?" Shannon pouted, "I'm a little scared."
When Brendon didn't respond, Shannon bit her lip and grabbed his arm. She twisted her body andcontinued to pout, "Brendon! You promised!"
Brendon frowned and turned to Ranita, "I'll take Shannon back first."
As they left, Ranita packed up her things and went into another room. She had barely laid downwhen the phone rang.
It was Brendon calling but she ignored it. The phone rang again but she pressed the button oncemore... as if out of spite.
Finally, the doorbell rang outside with Brendon's deep voice calling out, "Ranita! Open up!"
Ranita was annoyed as she threw down her phone and opened the door.
"What do you want?"
"Get your things together; come with me," said Brendon as he took hold of Ranita's hand.
She tried to pull away from him but he held on tight as he walked inside.
"I want to live alone," said Ranita firmly. But before she could say anything else, Brendon pulled herinto his embrace from behind with both arms wrapped around hers. His hot breath tickled against
earlobe as he asked, "Are you angry?"
Ranita pursed her lips tightly together in response, "No."
"Stop denying it! You're so angry you could burst!" Brendon straightened her body and playfullypoked her cheek with his finger. "You're pouting!"
His finger tickled her skin a bit.
And it seemed like some of the anger had deflated.
"I'm not angry! Miss Murphy came all this way to see you, so you should take care of her first!"
As soon as Ranita finished speaking, her lips were kissed.
He kissed her passionately, without reason or method, a bit hurriedly, with a hint of indistinguishableannoyance.
"Let go of me!" Ranita blushed and gasped for breath from the passionate kiss.
