Chapter 192 Don't Overthink It

Purchase it?

Ranita was a perceptive person, and she understood Brendon's thoughts. She felt both moved anda bit disappointed. Did Brendon really not believe that her blue velvet dress was genuine? Did hethink she would proudly wear a fake one?

Ranita was hurt.

"Miss Bowman, we will find another solution!" Caleb assured her and added, "I hope you don't mindme speaking out of turn."

"Not at all! Thank you for letting me know!" Brendon genuinely wanted to help her. "Get some rest;you've worked hard."

Caleb had been working late into the night to help her, and she felt a sense of self-blame.

"No problem! Besides, we've worked together for several years, so we're friends, right? You shouldrest early too!"

As soon as the call ended, the sound of a door opening came from the bathroom. The man walkedout of the light with his tall and slender figure outlined by the warm and soft orange night light. Thelight made everything around him gentle.

"Whose call is it so late?" The man casually wiped his hair with a towel. His raised arm was longand thin, pulling his waistline to be very long. His legs were equally impressive - straight and full ofstrength.

Ranita looked at him enviously and felt her heart warming up.

"Caleb," Ranita pursed her lips as she got out of bed and handed him a hair dryer from the drawer."Thanks for your help with that online thing."

Brendon frowned slightly. "Caleb is always meddling in other people's business."

Ranita smiled faintly while pursing her lips again. "He said there's no news from Steland," shepaused before continuing, "Actually, you don't have to worry about this matter. I can handle itmyself."novelbin

"But how are you going to solve it?" Brendon asked.

"Don't you trust me?" Ranita replied ambiguously; Brendon naturally understood what she meant bythat remark. The issue was that blue velvet dress being fake - but what if it was real? Then allproblems would disappear!

His thin lips tightened, "Shannon said there's another dress in Steland; she wouldn't lie to me."

"What if someone in Steland gave it to me?"

Brendon stared at her intently before squinting his eyes, "Who gave it to you?"

Did he believe her now? But why did Brendon not follow common sense when he first asked aboutthis matter? At first glance this blue velvet dress wasn't intended for Ranita but rather reserved as aNew Year's gift for Chloe – however due to some unknown reason her family sent it over instead.

"Do you need so much time thinking about this?" Brendon had sharp eyesight too – although shechanged its style significantly, the material quality and workmanship were absolutely top-notch onthat dress. However, what he said didn't count since those online only believed what they saw.

The style on Ranita's body differed greatly from Shannon's picture which caused misunderstandingsbecause pictures couldn't capture materials well enough.

"I..." Ranita took a deep breath before saying, "My brother gave it to me."

Brendon became more frustrated than ever before.

Why did she keep mentioning her brother?

"At Christmas time he gave me a gift," continued Ranita while sighing heavily, "I don't like trailingdresses due professional habits so I altered its hemline." She paused again before adding sadly,"That's just how things are - sorry for troubling you."

Brendon became even more depressed.

Did they contact each other during Christmas or have been secretly contacting each other behindhis back all along?

The feeling of being humiliated and betrayed was like a bucket of cold water poured over Brendon'shead.

Brendon's face turned cold in an instant, and he pursed his lips as he said, "It's not all about you. You're still legally my wife, and if the paparazzi keep digging up dirt on you, it could drag my familyinto it too. Don't overthink things!"

Afraid of being implicated! Don't overthink it!

Such wording was really disheartening.
