Brendon helped Shannon sit down properly before saying firmly, "Don't worry about these thingsanymore. Focus on getting better!" Then he remembered Ranita's indifferent face and said softlyagain, "... Ranita is strong-willed; she won't be angry over such trivial matters."
"Really? That would be great! As long as Ranita isn't mad!" Relief washed over Shannon as shespoke cheerfully once more, "... It isn't easy for someone like Ranita living alone in Kurima so weshould take good care of her together!"
"When I'm discharged from the hospital, Brendon, please take me to visit Ranita! I'll thank her inperson then." As she finished speaking, Steve knocked on the door and entered.
Steve greeted Shannon politely and gestured for Brendon to step outside for a chat. "Ranita had anaccident," Steve said, pushing his glasses up with his index finger. "Have you gone to see her?"
"I came from her house," Brendon explained, sensing a hint of sarcasm in Steve's tone. "Shannonaccidentally fell into the lake and ended up in the hospital, so I came to check on her."
"Hmm..." Steve paused for a moment before saying, "You seem busy taking care of both ends."
Brendon caught onto the slight mockery in Steve's words and remained silent for a few secondsbefore responding. "It's alright. Shannon grew up following us around like a little sister we spoiledrotten. She can be stubborn at times but she has a good heart deep down inside. Three years ago, Ipromised my grandfather that I would send her away from here as she was causing troublebetween us."
Steve smirked slightly at Brendon's words and said knowingly, "I understand if you want to make itup to Shannon."
"As a friend, I won't do much until your relationship with Ranita is resolved. But in the future, I hopeyou'll understand," Steve paused and continued, "I looked at the medical records. AlthoughShannon fell into the lake, she was promptly rescued and only ingested a little water. Hospitals canbe crowded and noisy, so it's better to rest at home."
In a subtle way, Steve indicated that Shannon wasn't in a very serious condition. He left quickly.

In the end, Dylan managed to get in touch with Eve's assistant.
Eve did indeed have an accident, she fell while doing a zip line and lost consciousness. Afterreceiving initial treatment at a local hospital, she was quickly transported back to Kurima and wascurrently at the Tranquil Valley Private Hospital.
When Ranita arrived there with Dylan, the main entrance had already been surrounded bypaparazzi. However, the hospital had enough security personnel stationed outside so they didn'tallow these people inside. The VIP ward located upstairs was reserved exclusively for public figuressuch as Eve, to avoid disruption caused by paparazzi or fans alike.
As soon as they stepped out of elevator, a turn later, Brendon could be seen standing tall talkingwith one nurse along corridor leading towards VIP ward area.
He was tall and handsome, with an outstanding presence that made him stand out wherever hewent. The young nurse who had been talking to him blushed and left as Ranita pursed her lips,about to call out to him. Suddenly, she heard a sweet voice say "Brendon" from beside him.
The door of the hospital room next to them opened, revealing Shannon's figure as she happilyhugged Brendon's arm and leaned into his embrace. She spoke in a sweet and affectionate tone,"Brendon... can we go home now? That's really great!"
