“Why are you barging here as if this is your house or washroom?” he asked in a cold voice making
Marie flinched as Damien had never used that tone on her.
She started crying but she had her head lowered afraid to meet his cold eyes.
“Didn’t you hear what I asked you? Why barge in here? Don’t you know that this is an office, not awashroom? What if I had a client in my office? Get out, knock on the door, and wait for myresponse
before you walk in,” he said angrily.

Eunice who had just walked out of the elevator heard her brother’s angry voice and frowned, Evenwithout being told, she knew that the person told had to be Marie but she still didn’t understand why
he was so cold to her.
Marie clenched her hands into a fist but she didn’t dare say anything afraid of making Damien more
angry.
“Okay,” she whispered as she walked out.
When she got out, she saw all the secretaries looking at her, she glared at them before knocking atthe door.
Damien responded after the third knock then Marie walked in.
Eunice who had been at the furthest end watching the scene walked over after she saw Mariewalking in. There was no way she was going in there to be Marie’s scapegoat as she was aware ofthe latter’s
schemes.

She walked towards her brother’s office.
“Brother, are you busy? Can I come in?” she said instead of knocking on the door.
“Come in.” Damien’s soft voice was heard.
Eunice walked in only to find Marie standing with her head lowered she looked like a pitiful student
waiting for her teacher’s punishment.
“Brother, what’s going on? Why isn’t Marie sitting down?” she asked as she looked between themtrying
to understand what was going on.
Damien pretended that he didn’t hear her question and glanced at the wide–opened door.
Getting the hint, Eunice walked back and closed the door after her before walking towards the sofa
and sat down.
“Marie, why are you standing there? Come sit with me,” Eunice said with an innocent look, makingDamien displeased as he didn’t want his sister to be close to such a scheming woman.
Nonetheless, he didn’t say anything. When Marie didn’t hear Damien’s voice opposing Eunice, shegritted her teeth and walked to the sofa next to Eunice’s.
