Chapter 5259

Calum Edwards received word from Wesley that he was needed to assist with the near-anti-aircraftartillery.

Though Calum had no knowledge of weaponry, he was fortunately well-versed in electronic technology.

Upon seeing the close-range anti-aircraft gun for the first time, Calum was surprised at its size.

He had thought it was a large machine gun, but upon inspection, he realized that this thing wasmassive.

The six gun barrels were thick as arms, and the whole defense gun resembled the turret of a tank, withthe ability to move its muzzle up and down and turn left and right for a wide range of fire coverage.

As he watched the soldiers assembling the weapon, Calum turned to Wesley and said, “Boss, can youreally just buy such a powerful weapon like this?”novelbin

Wesley simply nodded and replied, “Mostly from Eastern Europe, yes.”

Calum was surprised and asked, “Aren’t there any regulations or authorities keeping tabs on this kindof thing?”

Wesley shook his head with a smile and replied, “No one cares about this sort of thing here, and it’s aprivate transaction.

The weapons and equipment used by various armed forces in Africa are usually purchased from here.”

Calum voiced his concern, saying, “I can understand buying an AK47, but isn’t it a bit presumptuous topurchase a close-in anti-aircraft gun…”

Wesley gestured towards one of the defense guns and chuckled, “This thing is also an AK, just with aslightly larger caliber of 30mm.”

He paused for a moment, before turning to Calum and saying, “Brother, I have a question for you.”

Calum eagerly replied, “Sure, what is it?”

Wesley turned to Calum and posed a question, “So here’s the thing… I plan on arranging these threeclose-in anti-aircraft guns inside the glass rooms atop the three strategic high points.

They can be disassembled, but the installation requirements for this type of equipment are very high…”

“In order to ensure shooting accuracy and avoid any mishaps, the gun must be firmly secured onto areinforced concrete base.

It’s not a difficult task to fix, but Mr. Wade wants me to remove these three defense guns as soon aswe’re done with them.

The quicker, the better…”

“I’m thinking manual disassembly and assembly will take too long, and we won’t have much time toevacuate once the guns start firing.

Do you have any ideas on how to dismantle them in under a minute and lift them out with a helicopter?”

Calum thought for a moment and approached the close-in defense gun, inspecting it from all angles.

“So the requirement is to fix this thing with heavy-duty bolts to ensure it doesn’t shake when firing, right?” he confirmed with Wesley.

Wesley nodded in agreement

After pondering for a moment, Calum suggested, “If you were able to purchase this close-in defensegun, then it shouldn’t be too difficult to obtain a few explosive bolts.”

Curiosity piqued, Wesley asked, “Explosive bolts? What would we need those for?”

Calum proceeded to explain, “In the aerospace industry, multi-stage rockets are used.

To put it simply, a three-stage rocket is essentially three rockets connected together.

The first-stage rocket is ignited first, and once it reaches a certain altitude and the fuel consumption isalmost depleted, it needs to be quickly separated from the second-stage rocket, which then ignites andflies on its own…”

“The connection between the rockets needs to be solid and high-speed separation must be achievedinstantly.

Therefore, scientists in the aerospace industry invented a type of explosive bolt.

Essentially, it’s a heavy-duty bolt that comes equipped with a built-in blasting and ignition device.

When activated, the bolt can be instantly separated through a controlled explosion.”

As the memory of rocket launches flooded his mind, Wesley suddenly had an epiphany.

“I understand now.

That thing is incredibly fast.

When the booster is separated, it explodes in an instant,” he exclaimed.

Calum nodded in agreement and explained, “Yes, it’s a very precise technology that ensures only thebolt itself will be blown up, while the equipment connected to it will remain undamaged.

It’s not only used for rockets but also for fighter pilots’ escape seats.

When ignited, the hard connection is instantly released.”

Continuing with his idea, Calum suggested, “You could secure the three cannons with explosive bolts.

When needed, all you have to do is detonate the bolts and the guns can be separated from the base.

To make it even quicker, we could prepare slings beforehand.

When the time comes, we can simply blast the bolts and have a helicopter lift the cannons away withthe slings.”

Excited by this plan, Wesley clenched his fists and exclaimed, “That’s a great idea! Thank you somuch, Brother.

I’ll arrange for someone to go shopping immediately.”
