Chapter 2829

Seeing Wilfred’s resolute attitude, Adrian Peters suddenly panicked.

He didn’t know why this old fellow, Wilfred, suddenly changed his mind, and he didn’t know how hewould explain this change to Lord Banks when he went back.

He argued with a sad face and a voice full of pleas, “Master Elms, are you still not satisfied with themoney? It doesn’t matter.

If you are not satisfied, we can negotiate.

Our master said that 2 billion is only an intended price, but if Master Elms is not satisfied with this offer,he can still increase the payment to, say, 3 billion.

What do you think?!”

“Three billion?!” Mido, who was standing next to Wilfred, was going crazy.

He couldn’t even envision what 3 billion dollars could mean in reality.

He could only think to himself that he would expand his original daydreams of what he would buy with 2billion by another 50%.

Luxury houses around the world became larger mansions, luxury yachts could be 50% longer, andprivate planes could be 50% bigger!

Mido stared at his father with bloodshot eyes bulging out of his head and blurted out, “Dad! Why areyou still hesitating? This is 3 billion!”

Wilfred raised his voice and said coldly, “Even if it’s 30 billion, I still refuse!”

Adrian Peters was a person who believed money would solve this problem.

He had originally thought that if Wilfred was not satisfied with the price of 3 billion dollars, he wouldsimply raise the price a little more.

But now it dawned on him that no amount of increase would change the outcome.

His expression gradually became gloomy.

He nodded heavily and said, “All right! So be it!”

With that, he gritted his teeth as he pointed to Wilfred and said, “Master Elms, you are going back onyour word.

There will be a reckoning for this with Lord Banks.

If you are forced to pay for this with interest in the future, don’t say I didn’t warn you!”

Wilfred said sharply, “I, Wilfred Elms, am not afraid!” With that, he patted the table and said coldly,“Someone! Come send this man off!”

“No need!” Adrian Peters gritted his teeth as he quickly responded, “I’ll leave on my own!” He thenglared at Wilfred hatefully and left the canteen without looking back.

Mido exploded, “Dad! Are you crazy?! We can’t offend the Banks family!”

Wilfred responded coldly, “I am the head of the Elms family, and I bear all the consequences.”

Mido realized that he could not persuade his father.

Instead he turned on his heel and ran to chase after Adrian Peters.

Adrian Peters exited the Elms mansion full of resentment just as a convoy of several buses and truckswas pulling up the drive.

As soon as the lead bus stopped, Adrian climbed aboard and instructed the driver, “I will go to theairport alone!”

As the driver looked on with surprise, Mido ran up to the bus and, holding the door open, said toAdrian, “Mr.

Peters, please calm down!”

“Calm down?” Adrian glared at Mido, “This won’t be forgiven.

Your family will now pay the price! Wait and see!”

Mido quickly interjected, “Mr.

Peters, listen to me.

My father has always been a stubborn man.

Please give me some time to persuade him and I will be sure to get you an answer you will findsatisfactory!”

Adrian responded disdainfully, “Come on, Mido, think of your father’s character.

I know very well that the only way you could persuade him would be if you, not he, were the head of theElms family! Since he is still unwilling to pass the throne to you although he is in his 80s, he obviouslydistrusts your ability to lead the family! Since he doesn’t trust you, what makes you think he will listen toyour advice?”

Mido was embarrassed by Adrian’s words.novelbin

But, while harsh, his words were not entirely unreasonable.
