Chapter 2793

When Elaine heard Jacob say that his calf was still sore, she frowned and asked, “Jacob, you went fora run behind my back?”

Jacob retorted, “What do you mean behind your back? If I go jogging also need to report to you?”

Elaine snorted coldly, “You’re so unfit, what are you still jogging for? Trying to find your second spring inlife?”

Jacob responded impatiently, “What has it got to do with you? What are you talking so much shit for?”After finishing speaking, he glanced at the crutches placed by the dining table beside Elaine, andsarcastically said, “Just because your legs are not working well, I am not allowed to go out for a run?”

Hearing this, Charlie said: “Dad, Mom, you two will say a few words that you cannot take back if youaren’t careful”

Claire was busy cooking the noodles and, without looking back said, “Dear husband, you have no ideahow I made it through this meal.

They have been sniping at each other for more than an hour and I can’t convince them to stop…..”

Elaine was angry now and exclaimed, “I’m not trying to find fault with Jacob’s affairs.

But I am by far the worse off.

This leg was broken twice, and he did not care.

But still I’m still being ridiculed here.

Who are you bullying?”

Jacob said coldly, “What has your broken leg have to do with me? I wasn’t the one who broke it,furthermore, we’ve been arguing for quite awhile now and you didn’t even bring your leg up once.

You shouldn’t try to take the moral high ground here”

Elaine said desperately, “I am taking the moral high ground? Jacob, you are really deluded! You forgotthat when you were paralyzed, you were saved by the doctor I arranged.

Who waited with you in the hospital? I was the one busy caring for you.”

Jacob said disdainfully, “When? When I was injured, who found the doctor who saved me even thoughhe was busy?” With that, Jacob pointed to Charlie and said loudly: “My good son-in-law Charlie savedme! If it weren’t for him, I would still be lying in bed paralyzed now.”

Jacob looked Elaine in the eye and continued, “You said you were busy.

What were you up to? Weren’t you busy cheating your daughter of her cheques? Do you think I don’tknow?”

“Don’t lie!” he said to Elaine.

After hearing these charges, she suddenly shouted, “With which eye did you see me cheating mydaughter?”

Jacob sneered, “You still pretend to be righteous? To start with, I was cured by the genius doctor.

I was hospitalized for another two days and paid less hospitalization fees.

What happened? You took your daughter’s cheque.

If I remember correctly, the amount on the check was at least 170,000 dollars, right?

Elaine suddenly didn’t know what to do.

Her expression was first green and then white.

Jacob sneered, “If I were to follow in your footsteps, after you broke your leg, the first thing I wouldhave done was ask our daughter for money so I could cheat her out of it.

But I am not like that.

I am a scrupulous person of morals.

Morals, do you understand?”

Elaine became anxious, picked up her crutches and was about to smash Jacob with them.

She cursed and said, “Morals? I will let you talk about morals.

See if I won’t break your leg!”

Charlie quickly moved to stop her and said with traces of anger, “Enough! Let’s keep calm and stoparguing alright? I just got home and you two are staging such a fight, don’t forget that Claire and I arestill here”

When Elaine saw that Charlie was a little angry, she hurriedly laughed and said, “Good son-in-law,don’t be angry.

It’s not against you, it’s all against Jacob, the old dog.”novelbin

Jacob originally wanted to continue the argument, but realizing that Charlie seemed unhappy, he justshuffled a bit further from Elaine and mumbled: “I won’t stoop to your level.”

Elaine stared angrily, and Charlie said directly at this time: “Alright alright, mom don’t be sounreasonable, if not how about this, you must find it quite miserable to be stuck at home recuperatingall this time, once tomorrow comes I’ll ask my friend to prepare a VIP card for you for the spa atShangri La.

Then from then on, you can go to Shangri La to enjoy the spa everyday to relax and unwind.”

As soon as Elaine heard this, she was overjoyed.

She cheered and said, “Damn, my son-in-law, is what you are saying true?! I heard that the spa atShangri La is the most expensive and high-end spa in Aurous Hill.

They just do whatever you want, and it costs thousands or tens of thousands of dollars to order anyitem!”
