Chapter 217 Someone Is Trying To Rape Me
“One man and one woman stay in one room late at night. Do you think you can explain what you did?”
Joseph displayed his cold eyes, and his aggressive look made the atmosphere of the house unsettling
as if the room was as cold as an ice.
Hayden propped herself up against the table and stood firmly. She frowned and said, “Calm down.
Edison and I are just friends. I think you have misunderstood us. He just came back from America and
sent me home after helping me out during my daddy’s funeral. What’s wrong with me inviting him up for
a cup of hot tea? If you don’t believe me, then it’s useless for me to explain anything, isn’t it?
She felt that Joseph should not be such a small-minded person, who threw such a tantrum just
because he saw Edison. This was too unreasonable.
“You two are just friends. Are you sure you can repeat the sentence in front of me?”
“We’re really just friends.”
Joseph clenched his fist. His face was all pale. He directly opened the photo on his phone and put his
phone heavily on the table to show them. The back cover of the phone collided with the marble
countertop, making a ‘clang’ sound that clearly echoed throughout the room.
Looking at the contents of the photo, Hayden’s expression gradually changed.
“You are investigating me?”
The photo was showing their data in America, their marriage history, and even a family photo including
Hayden and Edison.
“How do I know that you are still having a love affair with him so engraved in your heart that you two
are still coupled up to this day if I don’t investigate you?”
Joseph had lost his senses, and his words were extremely taunting.
“Now only I know that you can simply make love with your male friends and you can also simply have a
baby with your male friends. You are really generous to your friends.”
“Joseph. What did you say?” Hayden’s face turned pale and she was unable to believe the nasty words
she heard.

Joseph’s roar echoed throughout the room.

“I’m just trying to get a green card so I can settle down in the United States with Stella,” Hayden said
hurriedly. Although she was angry, she didn’t want to make Joseph misunderstand them more, so she
had to explain the matter clearly.
Joseph sneered.
He sneered more coldly and his eyebrows were full of contempt, “You could do this for a green card?
What else was there that you can’t do?”
“You don’t believe me?” Looking at his scowl, Hayden’s hands and legs began to tremble.
Joseph took a deep breath as if he was trying desperately to suppress his anger.
“You never think before you lied? Don’t you think that the words you said were all lame excuses? You
and Edison are just friends and you two marry just for the green card. Then who is Stella’s daddy? How
many times have you been married to different men?”
The coldness of his words penetrated her bones marrows and gradually invaded all her limbs.
Hayden closed her eyes suddenly, and she could not control the irritation which she had been trying so
hard to restrain in her chest anymore.
Who was Stella’s daddy? Did you dare to ask me the question?
Joseph couldn’t realize that she was irritated. However, she was getting more and more frustrated. As
her anger built up, her clenched hand loosened for a few seconds before she raised it high.
She wanted to slap Joseph initially.
However, he was too fast to react and his big hand directly clutched her wrist, squeezing it so hard that
she cried out in pain and shock. She almost thought that her wrist was going to be crushed by him.
“You’re already annoyed with the fact that I had just revealed?”
Joseph coldly snorted, “I thought you are so good at hiding your lies. Is it too late for you to think about
how to cover up your lies?
“Joseph, you are such a bastard!” Hayden struggled to pull her hand out, but he held her hand more
tightly.
“Aren’t you willing to do anything to achieve what you want, even to have a child with a random man?”
Joseph pulled her to his side and said in a cold voice, “How about I help you to expand Green Lemon
Clothing and you give birth to a baby for me also?”
“Fuck off!”
Hayden was furious, and her other hand frantically punched Joseph’s chest.
But he looked like he didn’t feel any pain when he was punched by her.
Joseph became more irritated as she was disgusted with him and kept on resisting him. He clutched
her hand without pity and dragged her out of the kitchen like a mop and slammed her onto the sofa in
the living room.
“Let go of me, Joseph. You are such an asshole.”
Hayden cursed him using all the vulgarities she could think of.
However, this made the man angrier and he roared. He sat on Hayden’s waist and twisted her hands
up over her head with one hand and with a little effort, he tore her shirt open with the other hand,
causing the buttons to drop onto the ground.
Struggling, Hayden kicked over the floor lamp on the side of the sofa. With a ‘bang’ sound, the lamp
shattered and the incandescent lamp overhead buzzed a few times before the whole living room was
suddenly plunged into darkness.
Joseph hesitated to move for a moment, and a sudden sharp pain struck beneath him.
“Ah…”
He let out a muffled grunt and collapsed on the sofa, “Hayden, you…”
In a panic, Hayden used her greatest strength to push him away, and then she rolled her whole body
for a while before running into the bedroom, locking the door, and sitting flaccidly behind the door.
After a long time, Joseph rapped on the door.

She winced quickly, and then shouted at the door with a hoarse voice, “Fuck off, I don’t want to see you
again in my life.”
The outside turned silent.
Hayden wasn’t sure if he had left, and she had no way to vent her anger. She shivered and was barely
able to control her emotions. She reached out and got the phone above her bed.
“Is this police station? I want to make a report.”
She told the police what happened.
“I am at Seasons Neighborhood. I live on the 22nd floor, and someone is trying to rape me.”
She explained the situation to the police.
Joseph’s already left. In the darkness, he felt regretful seeing Hayden fleeing into the bedroom in panic.
He was regretful that he was such a ghastly sight in the eyes of the woman he loved.
But he did not regret that he had lost control of himself. He never met a woman who he loved and
cherished so much, yet she had concealed such a flawed lie from him that he could not believe it.
The police stopped Joseph’s Land Rover at the traffic light at the junction.
“Mr. Beckham, someone is suing you for raping her. Please come over with us.”
Joseph was speechless.
The police were taking evidence and photos in the room. A female police officer stayed in the bathroom
of the bedroom to pacify Hayden for a long time.
“Hayden, I have to ask, are you and Mr. Beckham a couple?”
Hayden wrinkled her brows and finally nodded her head.
“Then this case …” The police officer was a bit embarrassed. “This case is not easy to handle. We will
help you coordinate with him to the best of our ability, but you should also be mentally prepared.”
“No need to coordinate with him. I don’t want to see him again.”
