Chapter 371

Chapter 371

Dorothy’s worst fear was Kenneth’s affectionate persistence. As a result, she insisted on covering all ofLangston’s expenses abroad, including a monthly stipend for Kenneth.

If he didn’t agree to this, she wouldn’t allow Kenneth to take care of Langston.

Yet, despite all this, she still felt she was holding Kenneth back!

“Kenneth, you need to live your own life; you can’t keep revolving around me.”

Karen, who had overheard the conversation, sighed and walked over, “Dorothy, let him take care of it.We all know what kind of person he is! Even his parents can’t convince him.”

“Yeah, I feel fulfilled taking care of Langston; it’s kind of my joy! If you don’t let me be with him, I’ll feellike I’ve lost my purpose in life.” Kenneth didn’t know how to express himself.novelbin

He had known for years that he and Dorothy would never be together.

But sometimes, giving became a habit, and over the years, he had grown accustomed to treatingLangston as his own child.

Kenneth had even thought that if he had Langston, he wouldn’t need his own child.

“Kenneth, you’re the only child your parents have. If not for your sake, think about them! What will theydo?”

Kenneth had thought about it, but he couldn’t convince himself to accept any other woman.

“Forget it, Dorothy, let my brother come with us!”

Dorothy glanced at Karen, “But…”

“I’ll talk to him in private.” Karen patted her shoulder, indicating that she shouldn’t waste time on thisand should leave Eldorria City as soon as possible.

Right now, avoiding Everett was paramount.

“Alright.” Dorothy knew that this was not something that could be resolved in a short time, and that onlyhe could come to terms with it.

As Dorothy began to pack, Karen played with the two children.

It was only when it started to get dark that Kenneth drove over in a borrowed car.

“We can go now. The car belongs to a friend of mine, and no one should be able to trace it!”

“Okay.” Holding a sleeping Abigail and accompanied by Langston, Dorothy hurriedly got into the car.

Once she confirmed the house was empty, Karen sat in the passenger seat.

From the moment he got into the car, Langston had been focusing on his phone.

No one could understand what he was looking at, but he seemed to be engrossed in a bunch of data.

“Langston, what are you looking at?” Dorothy couldn’t help but ask.

“It’s data from the Lopez Corporation! Mommy, look, this is the project department’s recent expenditure, and here’s the ROI.”

Dorothy only then took a closer look at the numbers on the screen.

“Why are you looking at this, Langston?”

“I want to find a weakness in the Lopez Corporation! I can’t believe they don’t have a singlevulnerability.”

Langston had researched countless companies before this, always finding something unusual. Hedidn’t believe that the Lopez Corporation was completely invincible.

“Langston, don’t push against the Lopez Corporation.”

“But they bullied you! Mommy, I need to protect you!”

Just as Dorothy was about to respond, her phone rang.

She looked down.

That number looked familiar.
