Lane chuckled helplessly. “Alright, if you say so. But I’m genuinely curious about how your husbandmanaged to win you over.”
She was bright and tactful, always maintaining a certain distance from people without ever causing anydiscomfort. She was approachable yet somewhat inaccessible at the same time.

Dorothy didn’t respond to his question. After all, that story was too much for even her to think about.

Once Lane left the construction site, he headed straight to pick someone up.

“You better not tell me you have unsuitable thoughts about my crush?”
