Chapter 994

Chapter 994

Tentatively, she asked, “Um… do you still love me deep down? But you don’t want to straightforwardlyforgive me, so you’re hoping that in a month, I’ll keep pestering you?”

Callum stared at Lillian and thought, “Does she have to be so direct?”

Though, he had to admit, it was exactly as she described.

“Is that it?” she inquired further.

He turned away, feeling uncomfortable under her intense gaze.

“Is it or not?” she pressed on, circling to his front and continuing to stare at him. Her hands playfullytugged at his arm. “I didn’t misunderstand, did I?”

He stared at her, thinking that this woman had an uncanny ability to push him into corners.

“Yes,” he gruffly replied, then went back to his desk to look at the pile of documents.

Lillian was overjoyed that he had admitted it. She had been right; he did still have feelings for her. Hehad just been hurt deeply by her in the past.

Lillian approached Callum’s desk. “So, Callum, when do you plan to forgive me? In two months? Threemonths? Or maybe half a year? If it’s half a year, our child will be born by then. Isn’t that too long?Callum, could you at least give me an approximate time so I can prepare mentally? Once you forgiveme, what do you think about having a forgiveness banquet? It could be a celebration and a reminderfor us not to have misunderstandings in the future.”

She chatted away, her words flowing freely.

Callum was momentarily speechless as he thought, “A forgiveness banquet? Where did she come upwith this? And bargaining over the time for forgiveness!”novelbin

“By the way, Callum, I love you so much. I really do.” Lillian, exclaimed with wide-open eyes, gazing atCallum passionately as she confessed her feelings.

Callum’s face turned red suddenly.

“Hey, Callum, your face seems to be getting a bit red” Lillian blinked and reached up to touch hischeek.

He should have pulled her hand down, but with her acting this way, he found it hard to focus on hiswork.

“Your ears are red too!” she exclaimed as if discovering a new world. Her hands started reachingtoward

his ears.

At that moment, Callum felt a rush of warmth to his face that made his ears turn red.

“You…” He stared at her. “Stop messing around.” His words carried a trace of indulgence he couldn’tquite hide.

“I’m not messing around; I’m just happy,” Lillian said, her lips curving into a smile. “Callum, thank youfor forgiving me.

Π

Callum pursed his lips and lied, “I haven’t forgiven you yet.”

“But you will forgive me sooner or later, right? Callum, I want to spend every day with you in the future.”Lillian rested her cheek on her hand, lost in thoughts of a beautiful future.

Callum was briefly taken aback. After a moment, he said, “Ask your parents if they’re free tonight. Theycame all this way, and I haven’t even invited them to dinner yet.”

Lillian was delighted and quickly responded on behalf of her parents, “Sure, they’re free. I’ll call them!”She started making the call to her parents.

Callum’s lips curved into a smile as he watched Lillian. The heavy feeling that had been weighing onhis chest seemed to be gradually dissipating.

Perhaps, for him, her actions on the street that day, when she cried so bitterly to recover the deletedphotos, were enough to grant her forgiveness.

He just had been afraid of losing her again, fearing that she was with him only because of the child andthat she didn’t love him that much.

That was why he didn’t forgive her easily, hoping that she would continue to pester him and love himmore.

In the evening, Callum reserved a private room at an old-established restaurant in Jacaster and invitedLillian’s parents to dine with them.

Stephen and Abigail relaxed when they saw how happy Lillian seemed.

All the misunderstandings they had about Callum had been cleared up, thanks to Lillian’s explanation.

Stephen raised his glass and said, “Callum, we misunderstood you at the beginning. You did a lot forLillian, and she wouldn’t have survived without you.”

Callum’s eyes darkened for a moment; the past was a pain he could never forget.

“If it weren’t for me, she wouldn’t have ended up in this situation,” he said quietly.

“But it’s all in the past now,” Abigail chimed in. “We are so happy for the both of you. We don’t have anyother hope but for Lillian to give birth safely, and for you to reconcile.”

“We will, we definitely will!” Lillian said, cutting in before Callum could respond. She hadn’t told herparents that she was still under probation.

Dinner was a pleasant affair.

Callum watched as the Quinn family chatted casually. They ate and drank with smiles on their faces. This atmosphere seemed to be infecting him.

It was an experience he had never had in the White family, whether he was having a meal with hismother or other members of the White family.

It always felt cold and distant.

Perhaps he was the one who truly yearned for her.

After finishing the meal, Callum had the driver give the Quinn family a ride home. However, Lillian firmlyheld onto Callum’s arm and said to her parents, “Mom, Dad, you should return to the inn. I… um, wantto stay a few more days at Callum’s place.”

While saying this, she looked up at him with an eager expression. “Is it okay?”

Callum was at a loss for words. She had acted without prior consultation, so what could he say now?“Let her stay at my place for a few days. I’ll take good care of her,” he said to Stephen and Abigail.

Stephen and Abigail expressed their gratitude. They got into the White family’s car to head back to the

hotel.

The car slowly drove toward the hotel where they were staying. Meanwhile, Lillian got into Callum’s car.

“I thought your face had already healed. You should have gone back to the inn with your parents,” hecommented.

“just thought we could spend more time getting to know each other! We’ve been apart for five years, and

even though I love you, and you still love me, the misunderstandings from before have affected ourrelationship. Don’t you think we need more time to be together?”

Well, Callum realized that he didn’t mind spending more time with her. In fact, he welcomed it.

That night, Lillian appeared in Callum’s room, hugging her pregnancy pillow.
