Chapter 969

Chapter 969

“No, it’s not like that!” Lillian repeated. “I’m the stupidest person in the world. Callum broke

up with for my sake. He didn’t break up with me for the White family! It took him five years to finally takecontrol of his fate. He came to me, but I never believed what he said. There was even a curse in him.”Lillian loathed her stubbornness in the past. Even though she had always known she loved Callum, shetried to stop because she was so afraid of getting hurt.

Even when she last saw him at the door of his villa, she was immediately convinced Madeline andCallum

couple after seeing Madeline coming out of his mansion. Lillian thought Callum was only fooling aroundwith her, so she did not even ask for his clarification.

“Why couldn’t I trust him more back then? Why did I stubbornly think he doesn’t have much feelings forme?” Lillian thought.

“Curse? What’s that?” Stephen and Abigail were puzzled.

After Lillian informed them of what Madeline said on the rooftop, Stephen and Abigail were stunned fora long time. After a while, Stephen let out a long sigh and said, “It seems that we’ve misunderstoodhim.” “Callum really did a lot of you.” Abigail also sighed, thinking, “Who could’ve thought the man Ithought was a cheater and betrayed my daughter would love her so deeply?”

“Dad, Mom, after I get out of the hospital, I want to see Callum and apologize to him. I also want to putin effort to see if he still wants me and the child.” Lillian’s voice became hesitant by the end of the

sentence.

“After breaking up like that, will Callum still want me? Will he forgive me?” She pondered.

She did not have an ounce of confidence in her.

After all, she said she would not regret it when they broke up. The sight of his cold eyes filled with utterdespair was carved deeply in her mind.

“Why wouldn’t he? That’s his child in you, his own flesh and blood!” Stephen said immediately. Lillianuttered bitterly, “If… If he has no feelings for me anymore, I can only blame myself.”

“Okay, don’t think about it now,” Abigail comforted her. “The most important thing for you now is to stayin bed and recover for your pregnancy. After you’re discharged from the hospital, and if you’re in goodcondition, we’ll accompany you to meet Callum.”

Lillian also knew that the most important thing for her now was to get better.

“Speaking of which, this child really went through a lot. You’ve only been pregnant for three months, butyou’ve been admitted to the hospital so many times,” Abigail exclaimed.

Lillian gently stroked her belly, which still looked rather flat. She continued stroking the baby time andtime again, all in the hopes that the child could live a smooth life after going through those fatedobstacles.

After escaping death, Lillian fell asleep but kept her hands on her stomach as if her treasure was there. She wanted to keep the baby no matter what.

When Rosalie opened her eyes again, the white ceiling was the first thing she saw, followed by thedoctor and nurses dressed in white coats.

“You’re awake, Mrs. Youngblood,” the doctor greeted.

“M-My husband…” When Rosalie opened her mouth, she felt her throat extremely dry. She did not feelpain in her throat, thinking the anesthesia was not completely gone from her system.

However, even though it was difficult, she still managed to speak. Without Jonathan in the room, shestarted to panic. From what she had understood of him this whole time, he would definitely be lookingover her in the ward.

“Mr. Youngblood is still undergoing surgery. He sustained two broken ribs and several severe abrasionson his body, which need to be treated. It should take some time,” the doctor hurriedly explained. “Mrs.Youngblood, your operation has just ended. Try not to speak, and wait for at least 12 hours beforespeaking again. This way, your wounds won’t worsen.”

Hearing this, Rosalie said nothing more. Her mind was filled with Jonathan as she thought, ‘He has twobroken ribs?

Just how painful would that be?

Yet, I didn’t know that at all. He didn’t even say anything and only carried me to the hospital and lookedat me until I was pushed into the operating room.

Rosalie insisted that the doctor arrange for her and Jonathan to be in the same VIP ward.

When Jonathan was pushed into the ward after his operation ended, Rosalie only saw the thick layersof gauze wrapped around him. He was asleep due to anesthesia.

Rosalie took her phone and typed a line in the memo, asking the doctor: [Doctor, how is his injury? Ishe okay?]novelbin

“He should be fine. Mr. Youngblood has a healthy physique. Although he had two broken ribs, theoperation was successful. All he needs to do after this is to rest,” the doctor answered.

Hearing this, Rosalie let out a long sigh of relief. After the doctor and nurse left, Carlos informed her ofthe incident.

Rosalie felt relieved knowing Lillian was receiving medical treatment in the Women’s Health Hospitaland her baby was safe.

“Lillian and the baby are fine. That’s great!” She thought.

“I’ll arrange a caretaker over later. Also…” Carlos paused and looked at Rosalie hesitantly. Rosalietyped on her phone: [What is it? If you have something to say, please just say it, Mr. Gibson.] Finally,Carlos spoke, “Although Mr. Youngblood was still angry with you, he had always been devoted to you. Ihave never seen a man doing so much for a woman like this. After knowing what happened to you thistime, Mr. Youngblood came to save you even though he was angry and held a grudge against you.Seeing as he saved you, please treat Mr. Youngblood well, Mrs. Youngblood. Don’t hurt him anymore.”Tears welled up in Rosalie’s eyes as she thought, “I can’t believe I’ve hurt Jon so much that evenCarlos couldn’t help but say such things to me.”

She typed: [I won’t hurt him again. When he wakes up, even if he’s still angry and refuses to forgiveme, I’ll stay by his side until he does.]

“Good,” Carlos said. He also thought, “Why wouldn’t Mr. Youngblood forgive Mrs. Youngblood? Ifsomething ever happens to her, I’m sure Mr. Youngblood will immediately yield.”

As he remembered how Jonathan had agreed to Madeline’s attempt to humiliate him before, Carlos feltnothing but admiration for him.

Such a proud man had always stood at the top and looked down on others, yet he was willing to go thatfar for a woman.
