Chapter 910

Chapter 910

“I’ll have someone clean this place up later,” Jonathan said.

“Oh,” Rosalie answered with a blush.

Jonathan helped Rosalie clean up and get changed into a new hospital gown.

“By the way, Mr. Sabatini said that I can be discharged from the hospital in two days. I want to go andmeet Zeki first,” Rosalie informed.

Zekiah had been discharged from the hospital but refused to stay at the Youngblood Residence. Heinsisted on returning to the Burton residence because Karina was there.

Rosalie didn’t want Zekiah to be more resistant toward them, so she decided to let him stay at theBurton residence after discussing it with Jonathan.

The Burton family agreed with the arrangement and even seemed enthusiastic about caring for Zekiah. However, Rosalie knew they simply wanted to be on good terms with the Youngblood family.

Jonathan replied, “Okay, but if you want the child to return to the Youngblood residence, I can think ofanother way.”

It was not difficult for him to have Zekiah return to the Youngblood residence, but he had to use some

means.

“Let’s leave things as they are for now and take it slow. After all, we’ve already waited for five years. Idon’t mind waiting a bit longer for him to accept us. We can bring him back to the Youngbloodresidence when he does,” said Rosalie.

“I’ll do as you say, then,” Jonathan agreed.

On the day of Rosalie’s discharge, Lillian headed over to Amelia’s concession stand once she knew ofRosalie’s intention to visit Zekiah and waited there since she didn’t want to rush Rosalie by going to thehospital.

When the elementary school was about to be dismissed, Lillian saw Zekiah walking to the gates andwaiting for his favorite sister Karina to come out.

That time, however, Zekiah was not alone. Wayne and Jeanette were accompanying him as if theywere his guards.

One held a thermos, while the other carried various snacks and fruits. They would bend down fromtime to time to speak to Zekiah with a kind expression.

However, Zekiah ignored them and trained his gaze at the iron gates.

“How shameless of them! Their attitude toward Zeki had changed completely despite how they used totreat him!” Seeing this, Lillian said to Amelia.

“That’s good. At least they dare not do anything to him during his stay at the Burton residence,” Ameliacommented.

“True that.” Lillian nodded in agreement. As they spoke, a black Bentley pulled up to them.Subsequently, Rosalie and Jonathan got out of the car.

Not a trace of joy crossed Zekiah’s face when he spotted the two people he should address as Daddyand Mommy. Instead, he raised his guard, looking vigilant, and even took a few steps back. His desirenot to meet with them was evident in his body language.novelbin

Rosalie caught the wary look on her son’s face and felt a pang of pain in her heart.

“Zeki, I’m not here to take you away. I’m just here to see you,” Rosalie assured.

However, the cautiousness on his face didn’t diminish in the slightest.

Jonathan warned coldly, “It’s easy for us to take you away, so you better not treat your mom like this, or1 won’t hold back even if you are my son.”

Zekiah finally asked, “You really won’t take me away?”

“We’ll take you home when you’re ready to come back with us,” Rosalie promised.”

Only then did Zekiah’s guard lowered slightly. Yet, he still shrunk away, obviously unwilling, whenRosalie

squatted down, wanting to hug him.

Jeanette said zealously in a hurry, “Don’t feel bad, Mrs. Youngblood, Zeki is still young. You may resteasy now that he is staying at the Burton residence. Patrick and I will take good care of him!”

At that moment, Jeanette seemed to have completely forgotten their past treatment of Zekiah. From theBurton family’s standpoint, the longer Zekiah stayed with them, the better it was for them. That way, they would have more chances to get acquainted with the Youngblood family.

Lillian came over from the concession stand, heard Jeanette’s pretentious words, and sneered, “Howshameless of you to say something like that! I wonder who was the one that beat a young child sobadly that bruises covered his entire body.”

Jeanette’s expression froze.

Lillian squatted down again and met Zekiah’s gaze. “Do you know how much your mother has sufferedfor you? The only reason you can stand here and wait for your sister to finish school is because yourmom risked her life to save you!”

Zekiah pursed his lips into a straight line, not saying anything.

Lillian had interacted with him before, so naturally, she understood how he differed from the otherordinary children.

“Your mom is the person who loves you the most in this world, okay?” Lillian asked.

Yet, Zekiah retorted, “The one who loves me most in this world is Karrie!”

Lillian nearly burst out laughing at his answer. “Do you know what it feels like to be truly loved?” “Karrieis the person who loves me the most, and I love her the most!” Zekiah repeated firmly.

“This kid…” Lillian was speechless at his stubbornness.

“Love the most? What does a five-year-old kid know about what or who he loves the most?” shethought. Rosalie chimed in, “Okay, Zeki. Your dad and I love you!”

The school bell rang, and Zekiah immediately stopped talking. His eyes focused on the studentswalking out of the building one after another.

Finally, when Karina walked out of the school gate, Zekiah ran toward her and threw himself into her

arms.

Sadness rose within Rosalie when she saw how attached Zekiah was toward Karina. She was evergrateful for Karina.

If the young girl hadn’t protected Zekiah with her tiny body, Zekiah might have lived a worse life in thepast two years.

Karina’s sincere kindness toward Zekiah was precisely why he became so attached to her.

“Ms. Leighton, Mr. Youngblood,” Karina greeted Rosalie and Jonathan. Then, Karina asked timidly, “Areyou… here to take Zeki away?”

Karina’s question prompted Zekiah to embrace her tighter.

“No, we’re just here to see Zeki.” Rosalie replied, “He might have to stay with you for a while longer.”Relief flooded Karina upon hearing her answer.

Rosalie chatted with Karina for a while before insisting on sending her and Zekiah back to the Burtonresidence. Naturally, Jonathan would accompany her. Wayne and Jeanette were overjoyed.

If news of Jonathan and Rosalie coming to their house spread, everyone would think highly of them.

Facing Rosalie, Lillian asked, “I won’t be going to the Burton residence, then. How’s your hand? Did thedoctor say when it will fully recover?”
