Chapter 885

Chapter 885

At night, in the detention center, Kurt was led to a room illuminated by a single yellow lamp. At thismoment, Jonathan was sitting on a chair in front of a table and staring at Kurt coldly.

The prison guard, who had escorted Kurt into the room, stepped back and closed the door, leaving onlyKurt and Jonathan in the confined space.

“You seem to know that I’ll come to see you,” Jonathan said.

Kurt, with a faint smile, responded, “I didn’t know you were coming, but now that you’re here, I’m sure.you’ve come to ask me some questions.”

“Zeki is my child, and Rosalie is his mother. Who else knows this besides you?” Jonathan fixed a directgaze on him and asked plainly.

Most ordinary people would feel intense pressure when being stared at by Jonathan in such a manner, but Kurt remained nonchalant. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

“You don’t know?” Jonathan stood up and approached Kurt. He raised his hand, gripped the back ofKurt’s head, and forcefully struck him against the table. “Who else knew Zeki was my son? Why didyou take him away years ago? What was your motive? Someone kidnapped Zeki today. Are youinvolved in that?” A series of questions tumbled from Jonathan’s mouth, and his once cold voice hadturned violent. Kurt looked disheveled at the moment, but he burst into laughter. “What? Someonekidnapped that boy? Mr. Youngblood, I’m afraid you’re pointing fingers in the wrong direction.Everything I did in the past, I did for the sake of the Youngblood family.”

“For the Youngblood family? Is that what you did for the Youngblood family?” Jonathan bellowed.

“It’s unwise to put all the eggs in one basket. I’m sure you understand the logic of that phrase. That’swhy, back then, I separated the triplets. Mr. Youngblood, don’t underestimate the child I took away. Iinvested a lot of effort in teaching him, molding him into a ruthless and cold-blooded individual with noregard for life. When he was just two years old, I had him kill countless animals.”novelbin

“How dare you!” Jonathan exploded in rage upon hearing that. There were not many things that couldprovoke his anger in recent years, but now, he was extremely furious. “And you did that for theYoungblood family? Who gave you permission to do that? How could you turn my child into amonster?”

It was only now that he finally understood why the five-year-old was so distinct from the other children.

What did Kurt do to that child?

“The Youngblood family requires a robust heir. Only a ruthless individual can strengthen theYoungblood family. Mr. Leonard Youngblood would be pleased if he could see how the child hasbecome…” Kurt uttered.

“That’s enough!” Jonathan interrupted Kurt. “My grandfather is dead, and now, I’m the head of theYoungblood family. It’s up to me to decide what kind of heir the Youngblood family needs! Everythingyou did is pointless!”

“Mr. Youngblood, you wouldn’t have said something like this before you met Rosalie!” Kurt exclaimed.“Back then, you were a man who would do anything to maximize the benefits for yourself and thefamily. Otherwise, you wouldn’t have allowed Rosalie to go to jail despite knowing that she wasinnocent.”

As he finished his words, Jonathan pulled Kurt up from the chair and slammed him into the wall besidehim. “If you utter one more word about this matter, I will silence you for the rest of your life!” It was apainful experience that would forever be etched in his heart.

Kurt flashed a faint smirk. “What’s wrong? Are you still feeling uneasy now, Mr. Youngblood? Why areyou still upset, even though Rosalie has returned?”

Jonathan pressed his thin lips. “I just want to know who else knew that Zeki is my son. You’ve alwaysbeen cautious, so I know you wouldn’t have shared this with too many people. Does the doctor whoperformed the cesarean section on Rosalie know about this? Or the subordinate who used to work foryou and is now in hiding? What about Yvette, the woman whom you conspired with back then?”

Hearing the name “Yvette” caused Kurt’s body to stiffen briefly. Although it was a brief reaction, it wasenough for Jonathan to interpret its significance.

He was surprised to discover that Yvette knew that Zekiah was his and Rosalie’s child, and he began towonder if Yvette was the mastermind behind the kidnapping.

Many years had passed, yet neither the police nor the Youngblood family had found Yvette. Jonathanbelieved that Kurt must be responsible for her disappearance.

Otherwise, it would be impossible for Yvette, someone without any significant connections, to remain inhiding for so many years.

Jonathan let go of his hand, stood up straight, and gazed at the miserable figure of Kurt lying on theground with indifference. “If anything terrible happens to my son, I hope you’re prepared to face mygrandfather in hell!”

The extremely icy voice sent shivers down Kurt’s spine. At this moment, Jonathan appeared to havereverted to his former self, the one he was before he had come to know Rosalie.

He was cruel, resolute, and ruthless. These were the qualities that Leonard believed a qualified heir ofthe Youngblood family should. possess.

Yet, now, Jonathan was only revealing this side of him because of a child. Kurt could not determine ifthat was a positive or negative change in his character. After all, Rosalie had become his Achilles’ heel.He pondered whether the children had also become his other weakness.

While Jonathan could display his ruthless side because of them, Kurt felt the fact that they were hisweaknesses could also be his downfall!

After Jonathan left, the guard took Kurt back to prison.

“Mr. Leonard Youngblood, it appears that there are more problems with Mr. Youngblood than meets theeye, as he’s exposing more and more weaknesses. Would things have been better if I hadn’t savedRosalie and the three kids? Would you blame me if you were still alive?” Kurt murmured to himself.

Yet, there was no one there to answer him.

Meanwhile, Rosalie was still awake when Jonathan returned to the Youngblood residence.

-“Did Kurt say anything about Zeki?” Rosalie asked anxiously.

Jonathan replied, “He didn’t say it, but Yvette might be the culprit.”

“Yvette?” Rosalie was stunned. The name seemed to have triggered a long-forgotten memory.

Everything that had happened appeared to have connections with Yvette.

Yvette was involved in Rosalie’s imprisonment, played a part in her fall into the sea, and alsocontributed to her five-year separation from Jonathan.

“While I was on my way back, I asked someone to investigate everything related to Yvette, includingthe Hamilton family and the Xanthos family!” Jonathan said.

“Yvette…” Rosalie could not stop trembling. “Do you think she’ll do something to Zeki? What if shewants more than just money?”

If the kidnapper were someone else, there was a high possibility that they would not harm the child, astheir primary motive might be money.
