Chapter 802

Chapter 802

Lucille covered her face and looked at his father in disbelief. “Dad, I didn’t say anything wrong. I…”

“How dare you say that again? Who do you think you are, demanding others to give you anexplanation!” Arthur said angrily, thinking that the Marsden family was going to be destroyed by hisdaughter!novelbin

However, Jonathan’s words seemed to confirm Arthur’s speculation.

“It seems that the Marsden family is really getting arrogant. I will ask the group to reconsider thecooperation.” Jonathan’s cold voice reverberated.

Arthur’s body stiffened. Jonathan, seemingly having lost his interest in Arthur, said to Rosalie, “How’syour leg?”

“Yeah, I’m feeling better.” said Rosalie.

“Let’s go have our meal, then. You haven’t eaten much tonight.”

“Okay.” Rosalie was indeed hungry.

Jonathan took Rosalie’s hand and walked to the dining area while Arthur slapped his daughter in theface again and said with hatred, “Well, you ruined the Marsden family! You idiot!”

Lucille’s cheeks were red and swollen. She covered her face in a miserable state, no longer looking aselegant and beautiful as before. Other elites slowly dispersed as if they had seen enough of the drama. After all, after the commotion caused by Lucille, everyone fathomed Rosalie was not to be trifled with.Even after leaving the Youngblood family for five years, she was still the lady of the Youngblood family.Jonathan still cherished her.

Madeline looked thoughtful, then raised her head and smiled gently at Callum. “It seems that Rosalie isreally capable. Jonathan hasn’t changed his feelings toward her even after she left for five years. I thinkthe Marsden family will be expelled from the upper-class coterie of Strico in the future.”

“Madeline, you don’t know what love is at all.” Callum was indifferent. “Really? If that’s the case, Iwouldn’t have spent five years entangled with you. Or perhaps you’re trying to tell me your feelingstoward Lillian haven’t changed either?” Madeline asked.

Callum didn’t say anything. He thought, “If she knows what true love is,

she would know that one who had truly fallen in love with someone would find it utterly difficult to likeanother person.”

The person Callum loved was Lillian, and his feelings had never changed.

His silence aroused Madeline’s determination to possess him. “Callum, you will fall in love with me oneday. Then, you will realize Lillian isn’t worthy of staying by your side at all!”

Callum thought, “She’s not worthy? What a joke. The person who’s no longer worthy of her is me! I’mno longer qualified to stay by Lillian’s side!”

At that moment, on the other side of the banquet hall, Alan looked at Calvin and said, “I thought youwould rush up to save her just now. But you didn’t do anything. What’s the matter? Have you really letgo of your feelings for her?”

Calvin said calmly, “Even if I didn’t rush forward to help, she’s more than capable of resolving thesituation on her own. Rosalie is no longer the woman she used to be.”

-Although she was resilient back then, she wouldn’t necessarily retaliate

when faced with others’ provocation. Only when she was at the limit of her patience would she beruthless.

However, earlier, even if Jonathan didn’t show up, the woman who harbored ill intent toward Rosaliewas already completely subdued by Rosalie and rendered powerless to retaliate.

The current Rosalie was tougher and more formidable than before. Calvin figured it wouldn’t be easyfor others to take advantage of her now.

“By the way, when are you going to leave? Didn’t you say that you took over a new project last time?”Alan asked again.

“I won’t leave for now,” Calvin murmured. He was planning on staying even though he knew Rosaliewouldn’t fall for her after five years.

Still, he was reluctant to leave. He wanted to stay in Strico, and even if he could just look at her from adistance like before, it would be sufficient for him.

Alan sighed and thought, “Needless to say, Rosalie must have something to do with his reluctance toleave. But if this situation drags on, when will Calvin be able to let go of his feelings for Rosalie? If hestays infatuated with her forever, won’t that…”

Thinking of this, Alan suddenly shivered! He only hoped that there would be no such possibility!

After eating something with Jonathan, Rosalie went to the terrace to get some fresh air. She sawCallum standing alone on the terrace and looking at the moon in a daze.

The full moon adorned the night sky like an inverted plate.

Suddenly, Callum seemed to realize that someone was approaching. He turned his head and looked inthe direction of Rosalie. He was slightly stunned to see her.

“Why are you alone?” Callum asked.

“I’ve eaten something and come here to get some fresh air. Jon has some things to talk about withothers,” Rosalie said. After all, such a banquet was often the place for businessmen to talk or getacquainted with others. “How about you? Why isn’t Madeline with you?”

“She has something to do, so she took her leave first,” said Callum.

Rosalie took a few steps forward and walked up to Callum. “Lillian loved you very much back then.Even after you broke up, she kept saying your break-up happened because of a difference in opinion, not that you don’t like each other. She told me between love and career, you chose the latter.”

Colors drained from Callum’s face after he heard that, He balled his hands, which were hanging by hissides.

“Callum, Lillian gave you all the dignity you should have after breaking up. She has never hated orblamed you. Since you had made a choice. before, and now you are going to marry Madeline, why areyou showing up in front of her and disturbing her life?” Rosalie asked.

She knew how hard it was for Lillian to let go of her feelings for the man in front of her. She was afraidthat Callum would disappoint Lillian again and achieve nothing but provide her with false hope.

That would only hurt Lillian twice.

“Did she mention me to you?” Callum’s voice trembled.

Rosalie said, “She only told me you showed up before her. Lillian wants to start her new life. Shedoesn’t want to be trapped in the past forever. If you really love Lillian, stop disturbing her peace.”

Callum was silent. His hands hung by his sides, and his fingernails were dug deep into his palms, yet itwas as if he couldn’t feel any pain.

Perhaps for him, the biggest pain in the world was that he couldn’t be with Lillian.

At that moment, Jonathan came over and looked at the scene in front of him. He said to Rosalie, “Areyou done?”

“Almost. Let’s go. I want to go back. The children should be asleep now,” Rosalie said.
