Chapter 730

Chapter 730

Upon hearing his words, Amelia remained remarkably composed, as if she had merely heard aninconsequential remark. “Have you finished? If you have, please step aside. I want to take my sonhome.”

“Amelia, I understand you don’t want to see me. I-I’ve been trying to stay out of your way, but I beg you, please don’t reject me. At the very least, don’t reject my liver. If you don’t undergo the operation soon, the consequences could be dire…”

“Shut up!” Amelia suddenly interrupted Warren, and her eyes darted nervously toward her son. Shefeared that Aiden might overhear the conversation and learn about her illness.

Normally, she would deliberately keep her distance from her son when taking her medicine, not wantingthe little guy to discover the grave disease that would soon claim her life.

She didn’t want her son to bear the weight of her illness during the limited time. they had left together.

Witnessing Amelia’s emotional state, Warren immediately grasped that Aiden remained unaware of hismother’s illness.

“Mommy, do you have an illness that requires an operation?” Aiden blinked, his confusion evident in hisinnocent inquiry.

“It’s nothing. I’m perfectly healthy,” Amelia said.

However, fate had other plans. Right after she uttered those words, the pain in her liver flared up onceagain.

She endured the pain, determined to get her son home as swiftly as possible so that she could secretlyhave some painkillers.

“Aiden, let’s go,” Amelia said, fighting to keep her voice steady. She held her son’s hand tightly and waspreparing to leave.

Suddenly, a large hand gripped Amelia’s arm tightly. “Are you in pain again?” Warren asked urgently.

Amelia frowned and attempted to pull her arm away from Warren’s grip. “Let go of me.”

“Tell me, are you in pain again?” he pressed. His determination to get an answer was evident in histone.

He understood that the more frequently she experienced such pain, the more serious her conditioncould become. “No, I’ll take you to the hospital now,” he insisted.

“Warren, can’t you stop? I don’t need to go to any hospital. I…” The pain intensified as Warren pulledher, and Amelia couldn’t finish her sentence as the pain made it difficult for her to speak.

Upon seeing what was currently transpiring between his parents, Aiden recalled the scene in the smallpark, where his father had pulled his mother in a similar manner. The memory haunted him, especiallysince the last time this had happened, he had later found his mother in the hospital with a scrapedforehead and bleeding.

“Release Mommy! I won’t allow you to take her away.” Aiden’s small frame stiffened like a determinedyoung lion, prepared to protect his mother at all costs. Warren tried to explain, “Aiden, I have to takeyour mother to the hospital. I promise I won’t hurt her! She is sick, so her body’s in pain right now.”

The little boy finally noticed something was wrong with his mother. Her face appeared unusually pale, and her forehead was covered in sweat.

Additionally, he observed his mother’s body was hunched, and her hands clutched her upper waist. Herteeth seemed to be chattering as well.

The little boy’s expression suddenly became distressed. “Mommy! Mommy!”

Amelia wanted to assure her child that she was fine, but now it seemed that she couldn’t even speak.

At this point, Warren couldn’t be bothered by anything else. He swiftly lifted Amelia into his arms andsaid to Aiden, “Come with me. We’re taking Mommy to the hospital. You don’t want Mommy to be inpain like this, do you?”

The little boy remained silent but followed Warren closely.novelbin

Upon reaching the car, Warren gently settled Amelia into the passenger seat while Aiden silently madehis way to the back seat.

The little boy’s eyes, strikingly similar to Amelia’s, were glued to her with anxious concern through thegap between the seats. He kept repeating, “Mommy, you’ll be fine soon. The pain will stop soon. Whenyou get to the hospital, the doctors will take care of you, Mommy. You won’t be in pain anymore bythen!”

Amelia finally managed to breathe a little easier. She forced a smile, not wanting the child to worry toomuch about her. “I’m fine… It won’t hurt anymore in a bit…” she assured.

Watching their interaction, a bitter pang pierced Warren’s heart. He then pressed down on theaccelerator, driving swiftly toward the hospital.

During the journey to the hospital, he observed her grimacing in pain, yet she bravely gritted her teethto stifle any cries, determined not to alarm the child further.

Suddenly, he recalled a time when she had accidentally fallen which caused her ankles to swell, yetshe hadn’t uttered a word to him. It was only when he escorted her home and noticed her slow gait thathe discovered her injury.

Back then, her ankles had already turned a shade of purple and were badly swollen.

“Why didn’t you tell me when you got hurt?” He had asked her back then.

But she stuck out her tongue and replied. “I didn’t want you to worry about me! It’s really nothing. I’ll befine after spraying some anti-swelling spray when I get home.”

She was that kind of person-reluctant to burden others with her worries and enduring all pain silentlyand alone.

When the car reached the intersection, a red light halted their progress.

Warren stopped the car, grabbed a tissue, and leaned over to wipe away the sweat on Amelia’sforehead.

Currently, her face was covered in beads of sweat, especially on her forehead, revealing the extent ofher pain.

When Warren touched her forehead with the tissue, she, as if sensing his action, trembled slightly.Slowly, she opened her eyes, and her gaze pierced Warren’s heart, leaving him with an inexplicable

ache.

Her eyes held a mixture of indifference and alienation, with a hint of resistance, silently refusing histouch.

In an instant, Warren found himself in an awkward position.

It was at that moment he truly woke up to the reality. The woman before him was no longer theinnocent and selfless Amelia, willing to endure pain just to spare

him worry.

Now, Amelia bore the weight of her scars, and she was enduring her pain solely for the sake of herson, Aiden.

Warren swiftly wiped the sweat off Amelia’s face and continued driving toward the hospital once thetraffic light turned green.

When they arrived at the hospital, Amelia had already fainted due to the pain. Warren scooped her upand rushed her to the emergency room, with Aiden following closely. His young face was etched withdeep concern.

When Rosalie received a call from Warren, it was already an hour after he had brought Amelia to thehospital. Warren’s voice sounded weary. “Amelia is in the hospital now. She fainted due to pain today. The doctor said that if the transplantation operation is not performed immediately, it would be futilewhen her illness spreads completely.”
