Chapter 718

Chapter 718

“Did Warren hurt his hand?” This speculation flashed through Amelia’s heart but disappearedimmediately.

Now, she did not want to think about anything related to Warren anymore.

“He came last night. Did he say anything to you?” Rosalie sat down and asked.

“He seems to have known about the bone marrow transplantation that

year and that Irene’s miscarriage this time was plotted by the Fletcher family,” Amelia saidnonchalantly. “He said he wanted to make it up, but I didn’t think it was necessary.”

Amelia said it calmly, but Rosalie knew that Amelia was extremely heartbroken. That was why Ameliareacted so indifferently when the truth was revealed. “Irene hurt you and lied to Warren. Warren won’tlet the Fletcher family live well,” Rosalie said.

Amelia said indifferently, “It has nothing to do with me anymore.”

Seeing this, Rosalie knew that Amelia did not want to talk more about Warren, so she changed thetopic, “Did Mrs. Haab send Aiden to kindergarten?”

“Yes,” Amelia said. During her hospitalization, Matilda would take Aiden there every night toaccompany her at night.

However, Rosalie did not know how Matilda and Aiden reacted when they saw Warren. She thoughtabout it herself and asked again, “Are you still unwilling to receive chemotherapy?”

Amelia shook her head. “Once I receive the chemotherapy, I’m afraid I can’t leave the hospitalanymore. In my final moments, I want to spend more time with my mother and Aiden than wasteprecious time in the hospital. I’ll be discharged tomorrow. Rosalie, thank you so much this time.”

If Rosalie did not break in that day, Amelia could not imagine what else would happen to her.

“Discharged so soon?” Rosalie was surprised. “Actually, you can stay in the hospital for a few moredays.” After all, the care in the hospital was much better.

“No, I… I don’t like to be hospitalized,” Amelia said. Staying in the ward of the hospital would only makeher feel like her life was counting down.

After a pause, Amelia hesitated and said, “There’s another thing. At first, I thought that Warren wouldraise Aiden after my death. However, what happened to Irene this time made me realize that Warrenmight not have much affection for Aiden. I… I want to entrust Aiden to…”

Amelia hesitated because she knew that once she entrusted Aiden to Rosalie, Rosalie would still raisehim well.

But in that case, it might be unfair to Rosalie to involve her in the mess between

Amelia and Warren.

Nonetheless, Amelia did not know who to entrust Aiden to other than Rosalie. “Amelia, I know what youmean!” Rosalie answered. “Don’t worry. I will protect Aiden, but you can also raise him by yourself untilhe grows up!”

“How is that possible?” Amelia smiled bitterly. “You don’t have to comfort me. I know my condition.”

“Amelia, trust me. You can do it!” Rosalie held Amelia’s hand tightly and spoke with greatdetermination.

When Rosalie came out of Amelia’s ward, she looked at Warren who was still standing there, and said,“I want to take you to see someone.”

Warren’s eyes rolled slightly, but he did not say a word.

“Of course, it’s up to you whether you want to see that person. However, that person has something todo with Amelia’s case that year.” After saying that, Rosalie turned around and walked toward theelevator.

Warren’s expression finally changed.

He thought, “The case?” Amelia’s case that year was the one where she pushed Irene downstairs, andWarren testified in court.

Warren’s body trembled, and his heart hurt again. He turned around to look at the ward with the doorclosed, then quickly caught up with Rosalie. “Who are you taking me to see?”

“You’ll know when you go there,” Rosalie said indifferently.

She thought, “Then, Warren would know how much he owed Amelia and how much he destroyed her! What does Warren have to compensate for this? Perhaps it is like what Jon said. When Warren knewthe truth, he might live in regret and pain for the rest of his life.”

They reached the entrance of the hospital. Warren followed Rosalie into the car. The car was movingslowly. Warren suddenly asked, “Did you arrange Brayden to appear in the ward?”

“Yes,” Rosalie said. Jonathan had been watching Brayden when he helped Rosalie investigate thebone marrow donation.

Therefore, she knew everything about Brayden and Irene later.

It was just that Rosalie planned to sort out all the evidence before telling Warren, but it was too late.

Warren pondered for a moment and then said, “So you already knew about the bone marrowdonation?”

“Yes,” Rosalie replied. “Actually, I mentioned it to Amelia before, but maybe it was you who acceptedher bone marrow. I asked if she wanted to mention it to you, but she said that even if she did, youwould only consider her words as a lie.”

Warren’s heart seemed to be stabbed again, and he felt embarrassed.

He wondered, “Did Amelia see through me and know that I wouldn’t believe her at all? When I scoldedher over and over again, when I accused her of being vicious, and when Irene forced her to apologize, how should she feel?”novelbin

The car stopped at the door of a detention center.

When Warren got out of the car, he looked at Rosalie in confusion.

He wondered, “Why did Rosalie bring me here? Who is this person related to Amelia’s case backthen?”

Warren followed Rosalie to the meeting room. He seemed to see a familiar face. Rosalie said, “Thisman was Irene’s attending physician in that case back then. He performed an abortion for Irene, whofell down the stairs. He also went to court

did. He testified that Irene had indeed miscarried.”

Rosalie said to the man, “Tell Mr. York what you did back then honestly.”

“Yes, yes, I will,” the man said. He had been arrested. If he did not explain it carefully, he was afraidthat he would not be able to get out of the detention center anymore.

Warren stared at the man in front of him and suddenly panicked.

He had experienced such a panic before.

At that time, Rosalie told Warren it was Amelia who donated bone marrow to save him. He had such afeeling before.

And now… He had the same feeling again.

It was like the instinct of his body. Warren was afraid that what he heard next would be unbearable, forfear that it would make him fall into a more painful truth.

“I received the money from Irene back then, so I said what she wanted me to say. At that time, she wasnot pregnant at all. When I went to court, she asked me to say those words.”

When the man opened his mouth and said these words, Warren only felt that his heart kept dropping.
