Chapter 473

Chapter 473

“Fine, have her give out the phone number, and you make the call. If this woman dares to say anythingshe shouldn’t, just cripple her!” the driver hissed with malice..

Fear crept over Rosalie’s face, but deep down, she understood that she couldn’t afford to be scared. Ifshe allowed fear to consume her, she would lose any chance to save herself!

At least, the situation was much better than before, when she was in prison.

When she was in prison, she couldn’t avoid the harm inflicted by others, no matter how hard she tried.

No matter what kind of harm it was, she had to endure it!

The man reached for his phone, and Rosalie recited Jonathan’s phone number.

It was rather pitiable. She had been striving so hard to distance herself from Jonathan, constantlyreminding herself that the man now known as Jonathan was no longer the same as Jon.

Yet, in such a critical moment, Rosalie still had to rely on Jonathan.

Soon, the call was answered, and Jonathan’s voice came through “Rosie?” The caller ID displayed anunfamiliar number, which was puzzling to him, because only Rosalie should have known this number.

“Is this your brother?” The man instantly grew angry, feeling like Rosalie was trying to deceive him.

“No, no, I don’t have a brother. He’s… my benefactor who enjoys playing the role of my brother,”Rosalie explained.

“That’s pretty disgusting!” the man spat out.

On the other end of the phone, Jonathan had begun to realize that something was wrong. Hequestioned, “Who are you?”

“Listen carefully, your beloved is in our hands. If you want to rescue her, prepare 2 million dollars andtransfer it to the account we specify,” the man declared.

“Fine,” Jonathan agreed without hesitation. “But if you dare to harm her, you won’t get a single penny.”

“You can prepare the money first!”

“I’m serious. If you hurt her, you’ll live the rest of your days in torment.” The cold voice, even throughthe phone, still gave a strong sense of oppression.

So much so that the man holding the phone’s hand trembled for a moment, and the phone in his handalmost slipped to the ground.

“I want to hear her voice!” Jonathan added.

Reluctantly, the man handed the phone over to Rosalie, whose hands were still tied. “Hey, yourbenefactor wants to hear your voice!”

“J-Jon…” Rosalie bit her lip and spoke with some difficulty.

“How are you? Are you okay?”

“I’m not hurt now,” she replied.

“Don’t worry. I won’t let you get hurt,” Jonathan reassured her.

It was a short sentence, but it brought an inexplicable sense of comfort to her heart.

“Alright, that’s it! 2 million dollars, not a penny less!” the man said and ended the call. Then, he textedJonathan the account number.

“You know, your benefactor seems quite wealthy, not hesitating at all to transfer 2 million dollars.” theman chuckled. “Once we get that 2 million dollars, we can…”

“Enough with the talking. Get the money first, and then we’ll see!” the driver scolded him.

The man stopped talking, and they left Rosalie alone for the moment.

Rosalie knew that the two men wouldn’t release her even after receiving the money, and would likelycontinue to harm her.novelbin

But she wasn’t worried at this point.

Was it because of Jonathan? She was confident that he would come to her rescue.

Thinking about it, Rosalie couldn’t help but smile bitterly again.

She had planned to rely on herself entirely, but now, it seemed she was still relying on him.

The van driven by the kidnappers headed towards the southern part of the city, taking a more secludedroute. They were close to getting out of the city!

Rosalie had no idea how Jonathan had planned for her rescue. However, as they approached thehighway exit, the van suddenly came to a halt.

“Why did you stop?” the man sitting behind with Rosalie asked the driver.

But the driver didn’t answer.

Growing impatient, the man glared at Rosalie. “You better behave yourself!” He then leaned forward, halfway out of his seat, and peered through the windshield.

Suddenly, the man froze, his face contorting to a shocked expression, and his body involuntarilytrembled.

“What the hell was going on?” Rosalie thought to herself.

At this moment, with her hands tied and lying in the car, Rosalie couldn’t sit up and couldn’t see whatwas happening outside the car’s front.

Just then, a loudspeaker outside the car announced, “To the individuals in the vehicle, you are beingsurrounded. Surrender now and do not harm the hostage. Otherwise, the only ones getting hurt orkilled will be you!”

Rosalie was bewildered. “Surrounded?” she repeated in her heart.

She wondered if it was Jonathan’s doing.

The van’s door was forcibly opened, and police officers in uniform swiftly apprehended the two menand took them out of the vehicle. Following them, a figure entered Rosalie’s view.

It was Jonathan!

Rosalie stared at Jonathan’s handsome face in a daze. His expression was dark and menacing as helooked at her in her current state as if he were ready to kill someone.

“No one is allowed to come!” Jonathan suddenly said before swiftly entering the van. He untied theropes binding Rosalie’s hands and removed his own suit jacket to cover her.

“Who did the beating? Or were both of them involved?” Jonathan raised his hand and lightly touchedthe obvious handprint on Rosalie’s face.

Her cheeks were swollen on both sides from the multiple slaps she had received earlier.

She took a sharp breath, and only now did she start to feel the pain on her cheeks. “It was… the onewho wasn’t wearing a mask,” she replied.

“Where else did you get hurt? Did they…”

“No!” she hurriedly replied. “Just some beatings.”

Jonathan pursed his thin lips and bent down to carry Rosalie out of the van.

Once outside, Rosalie finally saw the situation around them.

Rows of heavily armed police officers were lined up, each with real firearms. Police vehicles hadpractically blocked off the entire highway interchange. It was no wonder the two men had beenbewildered earlier.

The situation resembled a confrontation with a dangerous criminal organization or even a majorinternational criminal

case.

Such a level of response was unheard of for a typical kidnapping.

Rosalie was also shocked. She hadn’t expected Jonathan to orchestrate such a massive operation!

The two kidnappers, who were now handcuffed by the police, couldn’t believe their eyes as they sawJonathan carry Rosalie

toward them.
