Chapter 461

Chapter 461

Children of Aiden’s age naturally liked bubbles, especially when the toy came in the shape of a gun.

Soon, Aiden made the whole room full of bubbles.

Looking at the bubbles all over the room, Lucas.felt a little embarrassed. “I… Well… How about I takeAiden to play outside for a while and bring him back later?”

“Okay, thank you.” Amelia smiled.

“No problem. I like playing with Aiden.” Lucas replied hurriedly.

Aiden was thrilled to go outside and play with bubbles, so he joyfully went out with Lucas.

Amelia asked Rosalie, “Why did you come with him today?”

“I came to him for business, and he happened to want to give Aiden a gift, so I came along.” Rosalieglanced at the suitcases and asked, “What about you? When are you going to Gerton?”

“Three days later,” Amelia said. “I found a moving company. They will move some pieces of furnitureover. My mother, Aiden, and I will take the high-speed train.”

“What time is your high-speed train? I’ll make sure to see you off,” Rosalie offered.

“No, it’s not a rest day. You are still working.” Amelia said, “I appreciate your kindness. I’ll inform youwhen we reach Gerton. Besides, if you come to see me off, Aiden may be reluctant to leave.”

Rosalie smiled. “Then I wish you a safe trip!”

“Thank you. Let’s hope that we’ll have a safe trip.” Amelia smiled. She harbored the hope that movingto Gerton would bring her the peace she had longed for.

She hoped that she would never meet Warren again in her life.

“Warren, what do you think of this necklace?” Irene slightly raised her chin to make the diamondnecklace on her neck more clearly visible in the man’s eyes.

The diamonds glistened brilliantly in the light.

“Not bad.” Warren glanced at her and said, “If you like it, buy it.”

“But it costs 16 million dollars.” Irene’s voice sounded hesitant.

“Buy it if you like it. It doesn’t matter how much it costs,” Warren said.

Hearing this, Irene smiled. Her face which was adorned with delicate makeup appeared even morealluring.

In fact, she desired a diamond ring more than a diamond necklace!

However, despite his promise to publicly announce their wedding date at the upcoming banquet in afew days, he had yet to present her with the diamond ring.

This made her anxious, fearing that something might go wrong once more.

So Irene pretended to be leisurely looking at other jewelry and then deliberately marveled. “Wow, thisring is so beautiful.”

“This ring is our company’s latest limited edition for weddings. The diamond on it is Tear of a Mermaidwhich made headlines last year. Our company has purchased it and used it to craft this special edition,”the staff explained.

Irene picked up the diamond ring and looked at it carefully.

Initially, she had only intended to broach the subject of the wedding ring. However, as she examinedthe ring more closely now, she couldn’t help but appreciate its beauty.

“Warren…” Irene bit her lips slightly and looked at Warren. “This ring is absolutely stunning. How aboutwe consider it as our future wedding ring?”

Warren’s eyes fell on the diamond ring. The reason why this diamond was named Tear of a Mermaidwas that the diamond’s raw shape bore the shape of a teardrop.novelbin

And this tear reminded him of the last tear that the woman left for him.

Her eyes, once filled with both love and resentment, had now found serenity. Tears welled up in them, rolling down silently.

The mere thought of Amelia left Warren feeling as if he couldn’t breathe.

“No!” He vetoed without hesitation. “Since it’s for our wedding, it should signify happiness. Thisdiamond is associated with tears. It doesn’t feel auspicious!”

Hearing this, Irene couldn’t say anything more. She could only say, “Well… How about we exploresome other options? Warren, what kind of wedding ring do you have in mind?”

“Let’s take our time and decide later. Once we’ve announced the wedding date, I will accompany you inchoosing the wedding ring carefully,” Warren said.

When she heard this, disappointment flickered in Irene’s eyes. But she still forced an understandingsmile and said, “Then let’s wait until the wedding date is announced before we pick our ring.”

Then Irene picked another pair of diamond earrings and left the jewelry store with Warren.

“Let the driver drive you home later,” Warren said.

“What about you?” Irene was shocked.

“I have something to deal with. I’ll call you later,” Warren said.

Irene could only nod, but as she got into the car, she appeared somewhat uneasy. “Warren, about ourwedding date… Is it really going to be on that day?”

“What’s the matter? We agree that the day is auspicious, and both families have already finalized it. Isthere any doubt about it?” Warren responded.

Indeed, the elders of the two families have already confirmed the wedding date. Hence, she shouldhave nothing to worry about.

She would marry Warren and become one part of the York family.

Irene smiled and responded softly before getting into the car.

The wedding date was set half a year later. That meant half a year later, she would acquire everythingshe wanted.

As for Amelia, she was not someone she should be worried about.

After Irene left, Warren walked alone along the road until he reached a church.

The church was modest in size, tucked away in a corner of the bustling downtown area, standing instark contrast to the noisy hustle and bustle of the city.

He walked in, and there was no one in the church at the time. It was very quiet.

Inside the chapel, he walked up to a statue of the Virgin Mary and silently contemplated the gentlefigure, her arms cradling the infant sculpture.

He remembered that in the past, that woman had stood in front of this statue for a long time and evencried.

At that time, he was puzzled and asked her why she cried.

She said, “Because… I thought of Jesus’ future when he grew up. If my child suffers one day, I will beheartbroken. I think I’ll risk my life to protect my baby.”

At that moment, he was puzzled. He couldn’t understand why she had made that connection and evenshed tears.

“Are all women so sentimental?” he thought at the time.

If it had been anyone else’s tears, he would likely have felt impatient, but her tears only stirred a senseof distress within him.

Yet, at that time, he had approached her with a deliberate deception, and everything had been nothingbut a charade.

Back then, he never imagined that he would have any children with her in his life.

But later, she told him that he was pregnant.

Pregnant? Even though he knew it was impossible, his heart still skipped a beat the moment he heardthose words.

He and she would never have any children! He even took protective measures every time he slept withher!
