Chapter 437

Chapter 437

Fiona wanted the rest of the film crew to understand her relationship with Calvin so that even if she wasjust a supporting role, she could still boss around while she was in the film crew and the director wouldbe able to add more scenes for her.

She had planned everything well, and at first, it was going on just as she thought.novelbin

However, after Rosalie showed up, everything changed.

It was even more so when Calvin grabbed Rosalie’s wrist just now. Many people in the film crew saw it.Moreover, Calvin had already left.

Fiona could feel that the gaze of people around her had changed from envy and jealousy to mockeryand sympathy.

“It’s all because of Rosalie!” she exclaimed inwardly.

She could not let Rosalie snatch Calvin away. Calvin was her hope for the rest of her life. If she wantedto have a glorious and wealthy life for the rest of her life, then Calvin would be the only chance shecould seize.

The next day, Rosalie went to the prison again to look for Lina. Because of the car accident, Lina wassentenced to one-year imprisonment.

Initially, Rosalie just wanted to try her luck and see if she could find something. However, when Linalearned that Rosalie was the assistant of the plaintiff’s lawyer, the former immediately rejected her anddirectly told her to get out and let the court decide on everything.

Before Rosalie left, she deliberately asked Lina if it was the sudden appearance of a dog running outthat startled Lina when she drove. Lina immediately replied, “It’s not a dog. It’s a cat! A yellow-graystriped cat!”

Her answer was too fast, too hurried, and too sure. She could even mention the cat’s fur pattern, whichseemed to look like she was trying to convince people that there really was such a cat.

“Yes, it’s a cat. I remember it wrong.” Rosalie smiled, but an answer was already forming in her heart.

“Sure enough, there is something wrong with this matter! Lina is the only one who took the blame. Thereal driver should be Aubrielle!” she exclaimed inwardly.

On the way back, Rosalie continued to think about the case. Although she now had a rough conclusionin her mind, the law was all about evidence.

What she was relying on now was just the statements from the witnesses and her speculation.

This was not enough to form a chain of evidence.

Thus, she wondered what she should do in order to get the police to re-investigate the case.

When Rosalie got off the bus and almost arrived at the residential area where her rental home waslocated, she still could not figure anything out.

Suddenly, two people stopped her. One of them said, “You must be Rosalie.”

Rosalie was stunned and looked at the two unfamiliar faces in front of her, as well as the unkindexpressions on their faces. She only felt that something did not seem right and so, she immediatelysaid, “No.”

Unfortunately, her denial did not work. They merely smiled and said, “You’re quite smart. However, wehave seen your photos. You are Rosalie!”

Then, they added, “Unfortunately, some people aren’t really that smart and merely want to dounnecessary things.”

As they spoke, the two made their moves and approached Rosalie directly.

She subconsciously wanted to escape, but was caught by the two. When she struggled and shouted, one of them yelled at the onlookers. “My girlfriend is quarreling with me. You don’t have to meddle inour business.”

The place was originally messy and there were many shady people in there. Thus, others would justtreat this kind of thing as a joke.

When Rosalie was about to be dragged into a car at the side by these two men, one of them who wasgrabbing her was suddenly kicked to the ground with one foot. Then, just as the other man was aboutto do something, his collar was grabbed, and he was directly beaten to the ground.

Rosalie was stunned and staggered subconsciously, but an arm held her waist.

Then, Jonathan’s voice sounded in her ear. “What happened?”

Rosalie turned around and, in a daze, looked at his face, which was very close to her. After that, shelooked at the two unfamiliar men who had been subdued by the bodyguards. She shuddered andquickly came back to her senses. “I don’t know them.”

Jonathan frowned. “Don’t you know them?”

“No,” she answered. Then, she looked at him and added, “Why are you here?”

“I’m here to see you.” As he spoke, he glanced at one of the men, who was already lying on the groundand screaming in pain. Then, he looked at her again. “Just now, this man seemed to say that he is yourboyfriend, didn’t he?”

His deep voice was full of danger.

“I said I don’t know them. How could this man be my boyfriend?”

Jonathan smiled and said, “Yes, you’re right. I suppose I was asking an unnecessary question.”

After saying that, he walked to the man lying on the ground and stepped directly on the man’s heart. The man immediately screamed again.

“There are some things that you shouldn’t say. Her boyfriend? Do you even deserve to be one?” Hiscold voice sounded bloodthirsty.

The man almost fainted in pain and yelled with all his strength, “I-I’m not. I’m not. I was talkingnonsense! I’m not her boyfriend!”

Rosalie looked at Jonathan in a daze. The way he acted now reminded her of the first time they meteach other and when he

saved her.

At that time, he was so ruthless that it frightened other people, just like how he acted now.

However, at that time, he seemed to care nothing about anything, even his own life and death.

Now, he was very concerned about some nonsensical words. It was as if it would be intolerable for himto even hear others saying nonsensical things such as being her boyfriend.

Jonathan spoke to his subordinates when the man finally had no strength left to shout. “Go find outwhat happened.”

“Yes, sir,” his subordinates responded and quickly took the two men away.

Jonathan walked back to Rosalie. “Did they hurt you?”

“No.” She shook her head.

Nonetheless, he was observant and saw several red marks caused by scratches on the back of herhand. Thus, he held her hand and said, “Did they scratch you?”

She wriggled her hand uncomfortably and wanted to withdraw it. “They just scratched me a few times. It’s not even considered an injury.”

The next moment, her body stiffened because he lowered his head and kissed the red marks on theback of her hand. His lips kissed the red marks back and forth. Even if there were only a few redmarks, his heart ached for her.

Rosalie felt that the places on the back of her hand where he kissed became extremely hot.

“You can really make people worry about you. Moreover, you always get hurt so easily,” he murmuredin a low voice. His cold and elegant voice shocked her but made her gradually calm down.

In fact, she should not be this intimate with him, even if he saved her that day. Thus, she said, “Thankyou for saving me today, Mr. Youngblood. I have to go back now.”
