Chapter 323

Rosalie said, “It’s none of your business. I’m so happy that you’re helping me with the case. I criedbecause this matter had. been bothering me for too long. I was too excited that I got a chance to turnover the case and I didn’t hold my tears.”

Jonathan clamped his thin lips together tightly and didn’t say anything. Instead, he held her in his arms.

Jonathan knew Rosalie didn’t know why he said sorry.

Jonathan thought. I’m sorry. It was my indifferent indulgence that made you so terribly hurt. All I can doto make it you is proving your innocence.

But I’m afraid you will never know the whole truth!”

Jonathan hugged Rosalie tightly.

The next day, Rosalie took a leave of absence to Amelia and went to the law firm with Jonathan. It wasabout her case so she felt extremely nervous.

To her surprise, the law firm Jonathan had chosen was the one she had worked for before.

Rosalie looked at Jonathan in surprise. She wondered if it was only a coincidence.

Jonathan said, “I knew you once worked here. After your accident, some of your colleagues laughed atyou. So, I chose this firm because I wanted to help you get back all the respect you deserved. I will let

those who underestimated you and belittled you dare not despise or mock you anymore. I’ll let themknow that you were the victim, not the perpetrator.”

He wanted her to stick her chin out in front of her former colleagues.

Rosalie’s eyes were wet again. In fact, after so many things, she had already gotten over it.

But she knew that Jonathan did it, especially for her, and didn’t want her to be looked down on byanyone.

Rosalie followed Jonathan into the elevator to get to the floor where the law firm was located.

When she walked out of the elevator, she found that there was a lot of sweat in her palms.

She was nervous anyway! Although she believed him when he said he had found enough evidenceand lodged an appeal, she was still nervous. Maybe it was because this case was too important for her.

“I’m going to the bathroom to wash my hands.” Rosalie said to Jonathan, “Wait for me.”

Jonathan nodded. “Okay.”

Rosalie went into the bathroom. She washed her hands, which soothed her nervousness and calmedher down a little bit.

Her fingers looked different from before. Some of her knuckles looked strange because the bones werebroken. She had been on the brink of losing her hands.

Though her hands seemed to be recovered, it was hard or impossible for her to do certain kinds ofmovements. The coldness and humidity in certain seasons caused a great deal of pain to the joints ofher fingers.

But recently, she had been taking herbal medicine so her joints were much better and she seldom feltpain.

Just as Rosalie was about to dry her hands with a tissue, she saw a figure and was stunned.

The woman also saw Rosalie. She was stunned and then asked in surprise, “Rosalie, what are youdoing here?”

Rosalie didn’t expect to see Elodia. Instead of wearing a professional suit, Elodia was dressed like acleaner of this building.

Rosalie asked coldly, “Why? Can’t I be here?”

Rosalie had hated Elodia since Elodia used her case as an example in front of the new hire of the firm.

It turned out that some people who one thought were only slightly mean at first were actually evil whosevileness was way beyond imagination.

Elodia stared at Rosalie with hatred. Elodia had become a laughing stock of the firm and she wasforced to quit law and become a cleaner working in the bathroom, which was because of Rosalie.

Who could have known that Calvin was protecting Rosalie?

The next day after that incident, Elodia walked into the office of the boss of the firm. The boss gave hertwo options. She would either be fired or transferred to cleaning the bathroom for a period of time. Butwhat would happen after that would be decided on the later circumstances?

Elodia struggled for a long time and chose the latter one. After all, she hadn’t found the next job. If shelost her job, she would feel embarrassed in front of her relatives and boyfriend.

Although she was cleaning the bathroom, her relatives and boyfriend didn’t know. Only people workingfor the firm knew about that. When she found a job in another law firm, she would naturally leave here.

Elodia didn’t expect that Rosalie would witness her poor situation.

Thinking about how Rosalie was laughed at by her and how she looked now, Elodia hated her evenmore.

Suddenly, Elodia came up with an idea. As Rosalie was about to leave the bathroom, Elodia took outher phone from her pocket and secretly clicked the button to record a voice memo. Then grabbed thephone in her hand behind her back and caught up with Rosalie quickly.

Elodia tried to induce Rosalie to tell her the answer she wanted. “Wait! Rosalie, what is yourrelationship with Calvin? Why did he protect you that day? He even put his suit on you. You’ve knowneach other for a long time and you have a close relationship, right?”

However, Rosalie said coldly, “Get out of my way.”

Of course, Elodia refused. She said, “Answer my question first. Rosalie, look at me. I’m so miserable. You owe me an explanation. Calvin protected you and cared about you a lot. You must have a veryclose relationship, right?”

Unfortunately, Rosalie was not fooled. She bypassed Elodia and walked toward the exit of thebathroom.novelbin

Elodia became anxious, chasing after Rosalie and shouting, “Rosalie, does Calvin’s breakup with thatgirl have something to do with you? You were having an affair, right? I remember you have a boyfriend.Do you feel sorry for your boyfriend?”

Rosalie suddenly stopped and turned back to Elodia, who had gone too far. Rosalie said, “I amwarning. If you say anything like that again, I will sue you for defamation!”

“Well, I’m right, aren’t I?” Elodia only looked more confident. “I am wondering if Calvin knows that youhave a boyfriend. You’re cheating on two men! I am amazed that you have lost the basic sense ofmorality after several years in prison…”

Bang!

Suddenly, a loud sound of applause interrupted Elodia. Elodia was slapped by someone and her headhit the wall.
