Chapter 246

Chapter 246

“Have you met Mrs. Lopez?” Jonathan asked.

“Granny is still asleep. I didn’t want to wake her up, so I left first,” Rosalie said.

While talking, Rosalie saw Fiona appear with two cups of coffee, placing them in front of her andJonathan. “Rosie, come have some coffee.”

Rosalie’s eyes flashed with surprise. In the past, Fiona had never served her coffee when she cameback.

“Say, Rosalie, aren’t you going to introduce this gentleman you’ve brought with you to use?” Sarahsaid, but her tone carried a hint of sarcasm.

“He’s Jon, my boyfriend,” Rosalie answered, deliberately not saying Jonathan’s full name to avoidhaving her relatives stir up any trouble again if they knew that Jon was Jonathan.

She only hoped that Wilma could spend her latter years in peace.

“Boyfriend?” Fiona blurted out in disbelief. “How is that possible?”

Her tone sounded as if Rosalie had just made a big joke.

Jonathan narrowed his eyes slightly and glanced at Fiona with a chilly gaze.

Suddenly, Fiona felt as if she was fully immersed in ice. It was so cold that it made her feeluncomfortable, even sending a chill deep into her heart.

“What sort of thing is impossible?” Jonathan asked lazily.

Fiona smiled awkwardly. “No… Nothing. Rosalie has been to prison before, so I just didn’t expect thatshe could find herself a boyfriend soon after being released. It’s sure fast…”

Her words were insinuating something else, and it was obvious that Fiona purposely mentionedRosalie had been in prison.

In her opinion, Rosalie could still get a boyfriend because she must not have told him the truth abouther going to jail before.

It was impossible for Rosalie not to notice Fiona’s thoughts. However, this seemed to be the first timethat she did not feel embarrassed at all after being exposed that she was sentenced to prison before.

Perhaps it was thanks to the man sitting next to her right now. In fact, he knew everything aboutRosalie.

The gaze from Jonathan looking at Fiona turned slightly gloomy again. A hint of anger seemed to tingeJonathan’s face, but just a moment later, a smile was formed at the corner of his lips. “So what if that’sthe case? Rosalie can still be my girlfriend, and it’s something I couldn’t ask for more. It made mehappy for several days when she agreed to be my girlfriend.”

In fact, his words were true. When Rosalie agreed to be Jonathan’s girlfriend, the man had never beenthis happy for a long time before.

It turned out that people could become so delighted when they obtained the treasures they wanted.

Fiona was stunned and did not expect that not only did Jonathan know about Rosalie’s past, but healso declared that he could not ask for more to become Rosalie’s boyfriend.

She thought, “Why would he want to be the boyfriend of someone who has been to jail?” However,Fiona was a little afraid to voice those thoughts at this moment.

Although this man named Jon was smiling at the moment, the gaze he shot at Fiona was very cold, which made the latter feel restless.

It was as if this man would not allow anyone to say anything bad about Rosalie.

Fiona could not help but feel a touch of jealousy, wondering why Rosalie could find such a handsomeand good-looking boyfriend who did not care about her going to jail before. On the other hand, Fionamarried early, and her husband was just a blacksmith.

Back then, she had thought that marrying a blacksmith was at least marrying someone with a skill, andthe betrothal gifts he had given were also satisfactory. However, in recent years, the more she thoughtabout it, the more aggrieved she felt.

All the friends she used to hang out with in the past were living a good life in the city. They marriedwhite-collar workers, civil servants, directors, and so on, which sounded like they were all from a high-end class. Fiona did not even have the pride to say that her husband was just a blacksmith.

In the past few years, she often wondered if she would have a chance to get married and live a goodlife in the city now if

she had not married so early back then. At least she could marry a white-collar worker.

“Oh, so this is your boyfriend,” Sarah cut in and then said as if she was giving solemn advice, “Youhave to cherish him well this time. About that rich and powerful man you talked about before, what doyou think he wanted with you? He was just pursuing excitement. He dumped you in the end, didn’t he?”

Jonathan raised his eyebrows slightly and looked at Rosalie. “A rich and powerful man? Who is shereferring to?”

Rosalie was speechless, guessing that Sarah might be referring to Jonathan. After all, the man cameall the way to the town to save her last time.

Yet, Daniel and Edward were the ones present at Chris’ house at that time, and Sarah was absentinstead, so the latter had not met Jon before.

As expected, Rosalie heard Sarah explain in a kind-hearted tone next. “You see, back when Rosaliewas still staying here, there was a rich and powerful man who brought many people to pick her up. Allthose cars were all luxury cars! At that time, I was still worried about Rosalie because I was afraid thatsuch a rich and powerful man would not have genuine feelings for her. I feared that Rosalie would falltoo deeply for him. But luckily, she has a boyfriend like you now.”

Rosalie only found it a little hilarious to see Sarah and Fiona having the same attitudes, where bothliked to reveal something on purpose. Unfortunately, Sarah was unaware that the rich and powerfulman she mentioned was in front of her at that moment.novelbin

“Really? Well then, you’re really thoughtful for worrying about Rosalie,” Jonathan said indifferently andthen put his arm around Rosalie’s shoulder, leaning close to her. He exhaled and asked Rosalie, “So,are you falling deeply for him?”

Rosalie could not help but glare at Jonathan. She knew that the man understood clearly that Sarah wastalking about him, but he still deliberately asked her.

“Besides, does he know how ambiguous our postures are now?” she wondered.

“Stop it,” she muttered.

“I’m not making a scene. I’m serious,” Jonathan murmured.

Rosalie blushed and said in a lowered voice, “We’ll talk about it after we get back…”

“Okay, let’s do so,” Jonathan replied with a smile and looked at Rosalie gently and dotingly, which wascompletely different from the coldness when looking at the other two people just now.

On the other side, not to mention Fiona, even when Sarah was getting on in years, she still feltawkward looking at this scene, causing her to curse silently in her heart and call Jonathan shameless.

As for Fiona, the jealousy in her heart grew even deeper.

She thought, “Does this man really not care about Rosalie’s past? Or does he care too much about herthat he could ignore her past?”

“Um… Can I also call you Jon?” Fiona took the initiative to greet Jonathan. “I’m Rosalie’s cousin, FionaHaberly. You can call

me Fiona.”

“No, you can call me Mr. Thompson,” Jonathan replied. As for him calling Fiona’s name, he did nothave the intention to do so at all, so naturally, there was no need for him to pay attention to her secondhalf of the sentence.
