Chapter 1160

After nearly 20 minutes of rinsing, Rosalie thought it was almost done. Then she turned off the faucet

and carefully dried Amelia’s hand. She asked, “Do you have any scald ointment here? It’s better to

apply it, or your hands will have blisters, which will hurt badly.”

“Yes, I will do it later,” Amelia said.

“Let me help you apply it first. Where’s the first aid kit?” Rosalie asked. After Amelia answered, she

found out the scald ointment and applied it to Amelia.

“Well, I’m fine now. It’s getting late. You can go back first,” Amelia said.

Rosalie looked at the time. It was almost time to pick up her children from kindergarten, so she said,

“Okay, I’m leaving now. Don’t touch water for two hours.”

“Okay, got it,” Amelia said.

When Rosalie left, Amelia stared at the back of her red and swollen hand in sorrow.

She thought about how she was the one who pushed Warren out of Strico.

When she was young and ignorant, she only thought that as long as they were in love, nothing would

stop them.

When she grew up, she realized some things just weren’t meant to be. Clatter! Clatter!

Drops of water kept dripping on the back of her hand that had just been plastered, making it wet.

Amelia was stunned for a while before realizing it was her tears. She cried again. She couldn’t help but

wonder if it was because of Warren’s departure or their superficial love.

Tears kept running down her face.

She told herself not to cry because it was terrible for the baby.

Additionally, Aiden was about to finish school, and her mother was about to return from shopping.

However, her tears were still falling, as if there was no end to it.

At night, Aiden fell asleep. Looking at the red swelling on her daughter’s hand, Matilda couldn’t help

saying, “You’ve been absent-minded these days. How about you stop working for a few days and rest?”

“That’s not a great idea. If we shut down for a few days, someone else might steal our business. It’ll be

challenging to attract customers back to our stand once we reopen,” Amelia remarked.

“That’s…” Matilda was interrupted by a loud, pounding knock on the door as she spoke.

The two looked at each other. After all, it was so late that few people would knock on the door.

They walked to the door. Amelia glanced through the peephole and saw it was Ryan outside.

Ryan was knocking on the door more loudly, shouting, “Open the door! I have something important to

say. Open the door. I’ll leave as soon as I tell you. I won’t waste your time…”

Amelia frowned and said through the door, “Ryan, I’ve already told you I won’t see Alicia. She doesn’t

have to say anything to me. The court will judge her accordingly!”

Amelia had no desire to show kindness when Alicia framed her.

Moreover, since Alicia had tried to harm Amelia’s child, it’s no surprise that Amelia couldn’t forgive her.

When Ryan heard Amelia’s words, he didn’t leave. Instead, he said something to her.

Amelia was shocked, and her pupils unconsciously contracted when she heard that. Then she

suddenly opened the door and stared at Ryan. “How do you know about Riley? Did Alicia tell you about

that?”

Ryan immediately said, “Yes, she told me that if you want to know about Riley, meet her at the

detention center. She says she knows where Riley is.”

Although Ryan didn’t know who Riley was, he could tell Riley was someone important based on

Amelia’s and Alicia’s reactions.

Ryan was thinking back to his exchange with Alicia, starting with her saying, “If you tell her I know

where Riley is, she’ll visit me!”

“Who is Riley?” he asked curiously.

However, Alicia just looked at him with a sneer. “Ryan, I want to leave while you want to get your family

out of trouble. In that case, we can cooperate. You don’t need to ask more about the rest of it. You

aren’t the man I want to cling to anymore!”

Ryan stopped upon noticing he couldn’t get anything out of Alicia.

After all, he was just a message boy.

Amelia’s expression shifted as she went silent.novelbin

Ryan asked cautiously, “Ms. Haab, you’ll attend, won’t you? Alicia said if you don’t go, you might end

up regretting it. It seems Riley is going through a tough time.”

Amelia took a deep breath and looked at the person in front of her coldly. “Don’t come to me again. I

will go to the detention center. What Alicia and I will do when we meet will be of no concern to you.”

“Okay, okay. As long as you go there, I will not disturb you in the future!” Ryan said and left

immediately.

Matilda looked at her daughter worriedly. “Are you really going to visit Alicia? She must have an ulterior

motive for doing this!”

“Of course, she has her reasons. Nevertheless, I must go,” Amelia said before closing the door. “I

mentioned before that I had a friend who looked out for me in prison. That friend was released before I

was. Back then, I wanted to keep my distance from Warren, so my friend helped me go into hiding and

altered my information. That’s why Warren couldn’t find me for a while after my release.”

After a brief pause, she added, “That person is Riley Summer. She helped me tremendously in the

past. Regrettably, I lost touch with her afterward. Now that Alicia knows Riley’s location, I need to see

her to find out where Riley is.”

Amelia was eager to visit Alicia because Riley was apparently not doing great according to Ryan, who

passed along Alicia’s words.

Amelia recalled that, back then, Riley said she was doing fine after leaving prison. As such, Amelia was

worried that Riley was in a bad spot.

“Ah, I see. So that person is Riley,” Matilda murmured. Of course, she knew about that person, but her

daughter didn’t tell her the name back then.

It was only then did Matilda learned the person who helped Amelia was Riley.

The next day, Amelia went to the detention center and met Alicia.

When Alicia saw Amelia, a trace of resentment flashed in her eyes. Then she smiled softly and said, “I

wonder how well things would’ve gone if I hadn’t met you at Women’s Health Hospital.”

In that scenario, she would still be Ryan’s mistress. Then, she would’ve found a way to be pregnant

with Ryan’s child and used that to become his legitimate lover.
