Chapter 1026

Chapter 1026

When Lillian stayed overnight in Callum’s mansion, she did not have to pack up anything. He had herclothes and daily necessities in his mansion, anyway. When she returned to Strico, she also took turnsliving in his mansion and her home.

Along the way, Callum was driving the car. Lillian, who sat in the passenger seat, looked at the mannext to her.

His jawline was defined, and his facial features were delicate. Looking at him from the side, thecontours of his face appeared more angular.

Under his beautifully lined neck was his collarbone that could be faintly discernible.

“A-Are we going to marry for real? Over the years, I’ve loved him, but I’ve also been hurt. Will we finallytie the knot? In the future, we’ll start a family and raise our children together. We’ll then get old and getgray hair together. Our children and grandchildren will be by our side.”

Thinking of this, Lillian naturally stroked her raised abdomen gently. “Our baby will be born very soon. What does the baby look like? Who will the baby resemble? If the baby resembles him, I think the babywill look beautiful regardless of gender,” Lillian continued to muse.

With that thought in mind, she could not help but burst into laughter.

“What’s the matter? Why are you laughing?” Callum asked.

“I remembered a video I once watched where fathers take care of their children. It was quite interesting.I wonder how you would take care of the kid in the future,” she uttered.

“You’ll know when the baby is born,” he replied.

“I wonder if we’ll often have conflicts and quarrels between us once the baby is born. Reading thosesocial media posts, I realized many married couples who were previously happy end up experiencingmany conflicts after the baby is born,” she said with worry.

“Don’t read those posts. You’ll only be annoyed after reading conflicts in the future, I’ll be the one whogives in first,” he said.

She was a little stunned.

Even if we really quarrel and havenovelbin

It so happened that the car had just arrived at the fork, with a red light ahead.

Callum stopped the car and turned to look at Lillian. “I can’t guarantee that there will be no conflict orargument in our future lives. However, no matter what, you must believe I’ll only love you in my lifetime. We’ll be a real married couple tomorrow. I won’t let you go all my life.”

At that moment, Lillian could only feel her heart pounding relentlessly. “I-I won’t let you go, too. Myparents are worried that I’ll become a bully to you after we get married, but how could I ever do that…”she stammered.

“Goodness gracious. what am I talking about?” Lillian’s face was suddenly reddened as she thought toherself.

Callum smiled faintly. “You are the only one who can really bully me. Your parents are very far-sighted,knowing they should ask you not to bully me…”

As the traffic light turned green, Callum started the car again. As he was driving, Lillian felt her heartwas still beating violently.

“It’s beating so fast!” she thought.

She felt shy and joyful at the same time. Inwardly, she remarked, “Callum and I will be blissful.”

At night, Lillian slept quite well in Callum’s mansion. It wasn’t until the next day morning that she got upin a daze. Callum served her as she washed her face and brushed her teeth. Then, he helped her puton her clothes.

As they were going to take photos when they registered their marriage, Lillian deliberately preparedmatching outfits for herself and Callum the last night. Hence, the duo wore white sweaters, beige pants, and white sneakers that day.

However, Lillian was a little dumbfounded upon seeing Callum wearing this set of clothes.

Usually, Callum was dressed in suits and leather shoes. Hence, he looked indescribably fresh in thatclothing. In addition, he had always looked young for his age. At that moment, he looked just like ayoung man who had just exited the college. He looked exactly like a male lead in a romantic movie.

“Why are you in a daze?” Callum walked up to Lillian.

“I just think that you… Uh, you look like a male lead in a romantic movie,” Lillian said in puzzlement.Callum smiled faintly and gently stroked her cheek. “I’m the male lead of your life. I want you to onlyconcentrate on looking at me.”

His gaze was akin to a dense net. She did not want and did not wish to break free from him.

When they arrived at City Hall, they got a queue number and sat in chairs to wait. After taking a photoof City Hall’s lobby, Lillian sent it to the group chat, in which Rosalie and Amelia were the other twoparticipants in the group.

Then, Lillian texted: [I’ll register for the marriage certificate today.]

A moment later, Rosalie replied in the WhatsApp group chat: [What? Are you going to register yourmarriage with Callum today?]

Lillian replied: [Yes. I’m waiting in line now!]

Rosalie: [That’s such a good news. Let’s celebrate it sometime!]

Amelia responded: [Lillian, congratulations! I wish you and Callum live happily ever after!]

Lillian replied: [Thank you. Oh, right. Is Aiden’s cochlear implant ready, Amelia?]

Amelia answered: [The hospital has already notified us to pick it up tomorrow.]

Rosalie texted: [Then, I’ll accompany you to go tomorrow, Amelia.]

Lillian: [I’m going, too.]

Rosalie replied: [You’re pregnant, so don’t visit the hospital so frequently. I’ll accompany Amelia andAiden tomorrow.]

Lillian texted back: [Then, I’ll book the private room in a restaurant. We can have a meal together lateron. In a way, consider it as celebrating my marriage, too!]

Rosalie typed: [Okay. Are you okay with it, Amelia?]

Amelia replied: [No problem. Let’s celebrate Lillian’s marriage tomorrow!]

A smile tugged at the corner of Amelia’s lips when they finished chatting in the group. She, too, felthappy for Lillian when the latter had found true happiness.

Previously, Amelia used to think Lillian was very similar to her. When Lillian and Callum broke up,Amelia felt sorry for Lillian, and her heart ached for Lillian, too. At present, Amelia thought it was sogreat that they ended up like this.

“What happened? Any good news?” Matilda said as she looked at Amelia.

Amelia smiled faintly. “Lillian and Callum went to register for marriage today.”

“Lillian is blessed to meet a man like Callum,” said Matilda. She also heard from Rosalie that Callumbroke up with Lillian back then only to save Lillian. It was not for power or wealth.

“Yes. She is truly blessed and she’ll continue to be blessed in the future,” Amelia stated.

Matilda hesitated momentarily before saying, “Today, the people from the matchmaking center in ourresidential area came again to ask me if I want to find a partner for you. She knows some good-naturedyoung men and wants to introduce them to you.”

“Mom, didn’t I tell you I don’t wish to look for a partner? I’ll only take care of Aiden and raise him welluntil he’s grown up,” Amelia said.

“But you’re all alone without a companion. I’ll be worrying,” Matilda said. As Matilda was getting older, she did not know how much longer she would live. Additionally, Matilda thought Aiden was still young, and Amelia was only in her thirties. Hence, Matilda could never rest easy as Amelia had no one to lean
