At the Dark Moon Pack, Alpha Nick ended the call with Sheila and hurried to his room to freshen up and change.

“Nick, I want to come with you,” Charlotte chased after Nick but paused in front of the door as it was shut in her face.

Alpha Nick did not do it intentionally. It was only because he was in a hurry. Charlotte contemplated going to his room but gave up inthe end since he had not invited her in there before.

About twenty minutes later, Alpha Nick walked out casually dressed but looked very attractive in the black pants and shirt he wore. Surprised that Charlo

He walked past her, descending the stairs and walking out of the packhouse to his car, but Charlotte followed him, grateful to have gotten the location of

He was slightly disappointed that Charlotte was putting personal entanglements above pack responsibilities but

maintained his soft tone.

“Charlotte, this is about the pack. What are you even thinking?”

Charlotte forced a smile as she realized her mistake. “I’m sorry. Please go on.”

As soon as his car drove away, Charlotte’s gaze darkened dangerously, and she dialed a number, recalling Sheila’s plate number when they met at the c

“You failed the last time, so I deserve some discount,” she bargained tactfully. From the end of the line, the man asked her,

“Is it the same woman?”

“Yes,” Charlotte responded. Since they had failed the last time and taken the full payment, it sounded fair to not go by thenew prices this time around.

“We won’t fail you this time.”

Charlotte went back to the packhouse, all smiles. Very soon, all her problems will end.

Alpha Nick arrived at the restaurant before Sheila. He went into a private room and ordered a table full of dishes before realizing that he didn’t even kno

Such an irresponsible husband he was to her. It was too late to make amends, and though she refused alimony, he was the one still pleading for her helpasked him for just one thing, and he even went as far as mocking her.

The dishes were ready, and yet, Sheila had still not arrived. As he picked up his phone to dial her number, the screen lit before it began to ring. Somehow

As soon as he answered the call, her melodious voice hit his eardrum. “Nick, are you on your way back? How did it go?” Since the assassin had not ans

The only person she could contact was Alpha Nick since he was the one going to meet with Sheila.

“She’s not here yet. I was just about to call her,” Alpha Nick honestly said. Charlotte was excited but pretended to

be disturbed.

“Not there yet? Did she stand you up?”

Alpha Nick’s gaze darkened at the probability, but in the end, he shook his head. Sheila was too eager to be away from him. “Shewouldn’t dare, knowing what’s at stake.”

Charlotte would have been offended by the way he quickly defended Sheila, but after confirming that Sheila had

not arrived as the wanted, the spoke in a feigned worried tone. “Maybe she just wants to humiliate you as

payback for choosing me over her.”

Alpha Nick refused to believe that as well, explaining. “She’s not petty.”

Charlotte was jealous, but knowing Sheila wouldn’t make it, her heart rejoiced. “I think you trust her too much. She’s not an angel like you think.”

Alpha Nick frowned slightly at the remark before requesting from her, “tell me more. What else do you know about her?”

The last time, it was Sheila giving him partial information about Charlotte, but this time, it was the other way

around.

Charlotte quickly refused. She almost got caught. “Nothing. She’s just jealous of me, but I miss you. Please come

home soon

“I will be home before you know it,” Alpha Nick smiled and ended the call. Now that he was away, he was missingCharlotte, but every time they are together, her presence makes him uneasy.

As Charlotte hung up, her joy knew no bounds. Finally, the chapter called Sheila would be closed permanently from her life.

Alpha Nick dialed Sheila’s number, but there was no answer. He kept dialing, feeling that something was not right. He tried tracking her number, but somworked out.

Fear gripped his heart as he wondered if this was how it was going to be after the divorce was finalized. Sheila could decide not to answer his calls, and

He called the waiter for the bill, at the same time the door to the private room slid open. Sheila stood there in a knee–length white dress, looking like an angel. Her face carried no warmth, but her beauty was still captivating.

Alpha Nick did not dare to compliment her beauty, but remembering the time she had given and when she actually arrived, a bitter smile settled in the co
