Chapter 42: A Promise About Vanilla Ice Cream
Tessa's POV:
Luna and I were racing each other ahead of the pack.Everything was going well, until we ran into agroup of intruders.To be honest, I was sure that we were doomed this time.
When the wizards formed a circle around us, there was nothing left I could do.I felt helpless and wasclose to saying goodbye to my life.
Suddenly, they all ran towards Luna.I couldn't let them hurt Luna! I did my best to run to her side.
But right when I landed, I fainted.I thought this was how I was going to die.
Before I completely passed out, my last thought was about that playboy Alvin.
I realized I had something to tell him all this time, but now I might no longer have that chance.Regretfilled my heart.
"Ooh, look at this she-wolf.Maybe I can take her with me, too." A disgusting voice got closer to me.
I tried to open my eyes and saw Luna herself lying motionless next to me.But not only that, the othermen were also on the ground, seeming to be dead.
However, there was one last man who limped towards me.He reached his dirty hand in mydirection.But all of a sudden, I heard a familiar voice.
"Get your hands off of her, you bastard!" It was Alvin.
He was my hero! Seeing him gave me a sense of security.
I knew now that Luna and I were safe.
Vaguely, I heard the groans and shouts of the last intruder.
"Tessa? Can you hear me? Are you okay?" I felt Alvin scoop me up into his strong arms.
With my remaining strength, I opened my eyes and caught a glimpse of his handsome face, his eyesfull of concern and guilt.
"Tessa, I'm so sorry I couldn't protect you earlier..."
I placed my hand on his cheek and kissed him.
Finally, I fainted.That was my first ever kiss.Pain had woken me up.I felt it all over my body.
"You're awake! But don't move too much, Tessa."
I looked to the side and saw the person I truly wanted to see, Alvin.
"Serena? How is Luna?"
"She's in the next ward.She's fine, just exhausted."
My head started to spin a little, and I put my hand on my forehead.
I was still dizzy.I suddenly remembered the last memory I had before passing out.
Of course I did, it was my first kiss.
My cheeks blushed at the thought of this.
I actually thought I was about to die then, which was why I had a lot of courage.I felt my face burn upfrom embarrassment.
"Ivy, you saw what happened.What do you think of Alvin?" I asked my wolf in my head.
"You don't need me to answer that for you.You already know it in your heart."
"I just think that Alvin isn't the bad guy everyone thinks he is.He seems to really care about me,too.Besides, he saved us yesterday, Ivy."
"He was a little late in my opinion.But if you like him a lot, then I won't object, Tessa."
"Thank you for respecting that, Ivy."
Perhaps I could try and see how things would work out with Alvin.
"Tessa, what's got you so deep in thought, huh? Oh, are you hungry? Tell me what you want, I'll get itfor you."
"Hmm...I just want some vanilla ice cream, if that's okay."
Vanilla ice cream was a sentimental comfort food to me when I was a child.I always wanted to eat itwhen I would get sick.
Of course, my mother didn't allow it every time.
"Alright, I'll get you some right away."
"Wait, but it's so early in the morning.Aren't the shops still closed at this time? Where will you get it?"
"Don't worry about it.All you need to do is wait for your ice cream right here."
Alvin walked to the door.Right before exiting, he turned back to me.
"I'll be back as soon as I can.If you need anything at all, just call me." I smiled and nodded.
Alvin was getting more and more attractive to me.novelbin
He wasn't as tall as Alpha, but our height difference was already quite large, which was fine.
He also wasn't the fittest wolf in the pack, but it was nothing more exercise couldn't fix.
For me, my favorite part of him was his handsome face.
I once again replayed my first kiss in my head, admiring how much courage I was able to muster up inthat moment.
It was just a simple kiss, a peck on the lips.
It wasn't supposed to affect me too much, but I caught myself repeating it over and over again in mymind.
Alvin's POV:
I had never expected that the day would come when I would suffer for the sake of love.It was only fiveo'clock in the morning.But Tessa wanted vanilla ice cream, so I was going to get it for her.
The shops and cafes along the street had not even opened yet.
Normally, I would not even get up this early, but this was the request of my mate.
It was up to me to satisfy her craving and make it up to her! I knocked on the doors of several shops,but the owner of each shop said that their stock of ice creams for the day had yet to arrive.
I was too early.
After all, yesterday was quite a large event with a lot of hungry children.
The ice creams of the shops had all been sold out by last night.
Quite far away from the hospital, I knew of a Haagen- Dazs store.
The saleswoman there was one of my...past sex partners.
Back when I was trying to get her, I always dropped by and bought an ice cream as an excuse to seeher.If my memory served me right, her name was Nancy.
I took out my phone and searched for Nancy in my phone book, only to find that I had a lot of contactsnamed Nancy! Apparently, this name was quite popular.
I had no other choice but to call them one by one to find the woman I was looking for.
"Hi, good morning.Nancy? It's Alvin.Do you still work at Haagen-Dazs?"
"Which Alvin is this? And why are you calling me so early in the morning?!"
Admittedly, Alvin was also a popular name.Her reaction was warranted.I had to introduce myself inanother way.
"Yeah, good morning.It's Beta"
She hung up on me before I could even finish my words.
"Hi, Nancy? It's Beta Alvin.How are things at work?"
"What do you mean work? Don't fucking talk to me about work.I was just fired the other day."
I felt bad for her, but I also hoped it wasn't the Nancy who worked in Haagen-Dazs.
"Good morning, Nancy."
"Beta Alvin, it's been a while since you last called.Why haven't you dropped by for some ice creamlately?"
Thank goodness, I found her! This was the Nancy I was looking for! "Well, I've just been busy, so...Bythe way, are you home?"
"No, I'm working in the shop right now.I'm on night shift duty this week."
It seemed Lady Luck favored me! "Okay, I'll be right there, Nancy.Wait for me, okay?"
"Alright, no problem.But why are you in such a hurry, anyway?" I dropped the call and started the car.
At this early in the morning, there wouldn't be any heavy traffic.
I floored the gas and rushed over to the Haagen-Dazs store.
Nancy was waiting for me by the entrance.
Her face was lightly made up and she wore a small T-shirt that revealed her belly button, with a pair ofshort shorts.
"Hello, Beta.What kind of ice cream would you like today?"
"Give me a few tubs of vanilla ice cream, please."
My bluntness stunned her at first, but she continued to talk to me seductively.
"Well, come on in, baby.Let me feed it to you."
She took me by my collar and pulled me in the shop, locking the door behind her.
We liked to do fun things during our dates in the past.Sometimes we would make love while licking icecream off of each other's bodies.Seeing that I came here for ice cream, she must have wronglyassumed my intentions.
"I'm kind of in a hurry, Nancy.I just need two tubs of vanilla ice cream now."
"Oh, you will get your ice cream soon.Don't worry, baby."
She brought out a cone and swirled ice cream onto it.
Then, she turned to me and licked it up and down while looking straight into my eyes.
"No, I don't want the cone.It melts easily.I'll get the one from the freezer." I pointed in the otherdirection.
"We've talked about this before, baby.The ice cream from the freezer is too hard for us to spread it allover our bodies."
Nancy then slipped her shirt off and unclasped her bra, exposing her huge breasts in front of me.
God damn it! All I wanted was some ice cream! Why did I have to go through so many difficulties justfor ice cream? Nancy never broke her seductive gaze away from me.
She smashed the ice cream onto her breasts and massaged them with her hands.
Biting her lip, she moaned sexily and loudly.She was very aggressive.

Admittedly, I started to feel hot and thirsty at this sight, too.
The old Alvin would immediately take off his clothes and join Nancy in this sweet escapade.

"Wait, what are you doing?"
"Thanks for the ice cream!"
I reached into my pocket and grabbed a handful of cash, hurriedly leaving it on the table without evencounting.
"You bastard! You must be crazy!" Nancy called after me.
I rushed back to the hospital and showed Tessa the ice cream I had gotten her.
She stared at the huge tub in disbelief.
She would never have to know the suffering I had been through just to get a hold of that ice cream.
