James, Qiyana, and Maddox headed straight toward the region where the Medicuses were located.
“I heard the Medicuses stopped treating outsiders.” Maddox’s voice resounded in the darkness.
Qiyana asked, “What happened? The Medicuses have always been friendly toward other races andrarely turn down anyone who asks for help. Why did they stop treating outsiders?”
Maddox explained, “It’s a very long story. Many years ago, a magical herb was stolen from theirMedical Valley. I heard it was an Empyrean Spiritual Root that was about to evolve into a living being. Ifit successfully evolved, it would’ve become a powerhouse at the Holy Celestial Rank.
‘There are rumors that some powerhouses appeared in the Medcuses’ territory and stole the EmpyreanSpiritual Root.
“I’m not sure about what really went down. I’m just an assassin who hides in the dark, so I don’t paymuch attention to theis kind of stuff. I merely heard that after the incident, the Medicuses began todespise other Primevals.”
James said, “It doesn’t matter. Let’s try to visit them first.”
The Medicuses were James’ hope of recovering Qairo’s injuries. If Qairo woke up, his success rate inkilling Yui would improve significantly.
The three quickly traveled through the darkness. Soon, they arrived outside the Medical City. Theformation outside the city blocking outsiders from entering immediately caught their attention.
After seeing the formation, Maddox said, “It seems the rumors are true. The Medicuses no longer wishto interact with other races.”
‘What should we do now?” Qiyana looked at James.
‘We’ll have to try,” James said, then approached the formation. He clasped his hands and shouted, “Myname is Forty-nine. I’m here to see the Medicuses.”novelbin
His voice echoed throughout the area. Soon, a few guards showed up. Although the guards had humanforms, their bodies emitted the fragrance of medical herbs. James could tell they were living beings thatevolved from Empyrean herbs.
“Beyond this point is the Medicuses’ territory. We’ve already sealed off this area, and outsiders aren’tallowed to enter. Please leave.” The guards immediately chased them away.
‘What if I insist on entering the Medicuses’ territory?” James ‘ face darkened.

The guards drew their weapons.
Sensing the tense atmosphere, Qiyana quickly stepped forward and said, “I’m the Glacies’ princess.My late father was on friendly terms with the Medicuses’ Leader. Please help me inform her about myvisit.”
‘The Glacies?” The guards were surprised since the Glacies were supposed to be wiped out by theFour Ancient Races a longtime ago.
“Wait here.” The guards exchanged glances at each other and left to report the incident.
James’ group waited patiently outside the city.
Soon, a crack appeared in the formation, and a beautiful woman walked out.
She looked at Qiyana and said calmly, ” Follow me.”
“Let’s go,” said Qiyana.
James nodded slightly in response.
They followed the woman to a valley where the Medicuses resided. The valley’s environment waspeaceful and full of Spiritual Energy. A variety of Empyrean herbs could be seen growing throughoutthe valley.
The beautiful woman led them to a simple wooden house and asked,” What do you need?”
Qiyana replied, “I’m here to ask for your help, Saintess.”
