Chapter 3951

James wanted to recruit more powerhouses to assist Sienna and increase their chances of success.

Riding on Quiomars, James returned to the Ecclesiastical Restricted Zone.

In the past, Mateo had set up a powerful formation to trap an Acmean in a dangerous battlefield withinthe Ecclesiastical Restricted Zone. The formation was cracked during the fight against the Acmean, and its strength had drastically weakened over time. Although it was damaged and weakened, theformation was still capable of trapping and killing a powerful Acmean. After Lord Samsong stumbledinto the formation, he was unable to easily escape it.

James appeared in the central region of the Ecclesiastical Restricted Zone, which was an island. Hestood on the top of a spiritual mountain and looked at the shattered formation in the distance. He sawLord Samsong resisting the formation’s remaining strength. What’s more, an Acmean’s soul waslingering within the formation.

Even though he was dead, he still possessed terrifying strength. Although his body and soul weredestroyed, his anguish remained and formed a lingering soul. What James had previously encounteredin the Sky City were also lingering souls.

These lingering souls were the remaining anguish of the

Acmeansthat had died in the Ecclesiastical Restricted Zone. Master Mateo had specifically built theSky City to trap these lingering souls. With the passage of time, the strength of these lingering soulswould also weaken.

Gradually, they would completely vanish.novelbin

However, these lingering souls took a long time to disappear. Although they had existed since thePrimordial Realm Era, they were as strong as Ninth Stage Lords.

Meanwhile, the lingering souls in the shattered formation were not very strong, as the formationconstantly drained their power. The lingering souls in the formation only had the strength equivalent tothat of a Ninth Stage Lord.

As he resisted the remaining power of the formation, Lord Samsong also had to fight off the lingeringsouls. He was already ragged and severely injured but continued to sustain more damage.

Despite his severe injuries, he was a Ninth Stage Lord and would not die so easily. It would not be aproblem for him to survive in the shattered formation for another few thousand or tens of thousands ofEpochs. In time, he would eventually break the formation and escape.

Quiomars said, “Master, Lord Samsong is proud and arrogant. He won’t readily cooperate with you,and it’ll be hard for you to win him over. Would you like me to intentionally endanger him further?”

“Alright. Sounds like a good idea.” James agreed.

James knew it would be difficult to recruit a Ninth Stage

Lord. In the Dark World’s current predicament, Ninth Stage Lords had basically reached the pinnacle ofcultivation.

They were existences that stood above all others, so they would not readily submit to another.

Quiomars left quickly and appeared inside the formation in the next moment. As soon as he enteredthe formation, he took the form of a middle-aged man wearing a black robe. His appearance wasunremarkable and almost unattractive.

Quiomars headed over to Lord Samsong’s location. In just a short moment, he appeared before LordSamsong and attacked him. Lord Samsong was already in a tight spot and could not react in time toQuiomars’ attack. He sustained another severe injury and his situation became critical.

After Qiomars abruptly attacked Lord Samsong, he disappeared silently.

“Who are you?!” Lord Samsong was enraged. His messy hair whipped around as he quickly turned, looking for his assailant.

“Come on! Show yourself! Only weaklings hide themselves! If you have the guts, come fight me fairand square!”

Lord Samsong was frantic from the unending torture caused by the formation. His blood boiled withanger.

Suddenly, a figure flashed before his eyes. He quickly backed away but was struck again. Quiomarshad punched a hole in his chest this time, forming a gaping wound.
