“Sure.”
Sienna left without hesitation. She casually waved her hand and opened a passage between theIlluminated World and the Dark World with her great power. A mystical portal formed before them.
James and Sienna walked through the passage briskly. The two disappeared from the area along withthe imaginary portal. In the next moment, they appeared outside the Dark World.
James had been to the Dark World several times before this but mostly only explored its periphery.Only once did he head slightly further inside.
The Dark World’s outer bounds were filled with black mist that contained potent Dark Power. Thedeeper one traveled, the more dreadful the Dark Power grew. Dark Power was inherently deleteriousfor beings from the Illuminated World. Moreover, Paths from the Illuminated World were drasticallyweakened and hindered by the Dark World’s Heavenly Path.
Although the atmosphere in the Dark World was anomalous, James was proficient in the Dark Path,and Dark Power had no effect on him.
The two moved through the black mist.
James asked Sienna. “You’ve lived in the Dark World for so long, Sienna. How much do you knowabout it? What kind of place is the Dark World and how is it related to the twelve universes?”
Sienna’s brows furrowed. She did not have the questions to his answer. After carefully considering heranswer, she asked, “As the strongest powerhouse of the Twelfth Universe, how much do you reallyknow about it?”
Sienna’s question caught James by surprise. James had reached great heights in cultivation. Heunderstood the essence of Paths, and his comprehension had spanned its furthest limits. However, he
still did not wholly understand everything behind the twelve universes.
He only knew that a universe was formed using a Macrocosm Core and these cores came from theChaos itself. However, he did not know why Macrocosm Cores were formed in the Chaos nor did heknow what kind of mysterious powers were hidden in the Chaos that contributed to their formation.
A tiny Macrocosm Core contained the most rudimentary inscriptions of all Paths. These inscriptionswould constantly shift and eventually birth a mighty universe.
Sienna continued, “Just as you don’t understand everything governing the twelve universes, I don’tknow everything about the Dark World either. I, too, have no idea how the twelve universes and DarkWorld are related. However…”
She stopped herself for a moment.
James asked, “What is it?”
Sienna chose her words carefully and said, “From what I’ve learned, the Dark World is much moreobscure and complicated than the twelve universes. It seems that unknown secrets are buried in thedepths of the Dark World.
“I also learned that there is a strange place in the depths of the Dark World. Rumor has it that this placeholds the answers to the essence of the Dark World and how Dark Matter is formed.”
“Dark Matter?” James was taken aback by the unfamiliar term.
Sienna explained “Dark Matter is the hallmark of the Dark World. Every evil spirit needs Dark Matter tobecome stronger. Since the Illuminated World’s Paths do not exist in the Dark World, evil spirits canonly become stronger by absorbing enough Dark Matter.”
James frowned. “Are there really no Paths here?”
According to what he knew, the Dark World also housed a Dark Heavenly Path. Curse Inscriptionsoriginated from the Dark World and after they appeared in the Eleventh Universe, it lead to thedevelopment of Curse Magic.
If there were no Paths in the Dark World, how could Curse Magic have originated from here? Jamesfelt even more troubled by the Dark World. Since he was fortunate enough to have a Dark Lordaccompanying him, he voiced out the doubts that nagged at him.
