“Huff!” Quintina heaved a sigh in relief.
She turned to James and scolded him, “Do you have a death wish? Why would you joke aboutsomething like that?”
James said with a playful smile, “What if I say it’s true, but I turned your father down?”
Quintina was stunned.
She felt that James was not lying since her father had mentioned it to her before.
“You turned him down? Why would you turn him down?”
Quintina stared at James, then scanned herself, saying, “Is it because I’m not pretty enough? Or am Inot charming enough? Or is there something about me that isn’t worthy of you?” Although Quintina didnot have any feelings for James, she was slightly confused about why James would refuse to marryher.
She was the daughter of the Ancient Clan’s leader. Countless suitors had come for her hand inmarriage. Many people wanted to marry her and build a relationship with the Ancient Clan.
Quintina stared at James and asked for an explanation.
“It’s because I’m married.”
Thinking of Thea, a smile formed on James’ face. He felt happy thinking of the memories he had withThea.
Then, he grew worried.
Six months had passed, and he was unsure about the situation on Earth. He was also curious abouthow Thea and Winnie were doing.
Seeing James’ smile suddenly turn into a worrisome expression, Quintina could not help asking,“What’s wrong?”
James recollected himself. “It’s nothing.”
With his wife and daughter still waiting for him on Earth, James was determined to improve his strengthas soon as possible. Then, he could return earlier to eliminate the Divinity Sect’s elder, Yuvaan, andend their feud.
“I’ll be taking my leave first.”
James waved goodbye to Quintina, turned around, and headed down the mountain.
Quintina looked at James’ leaving figure and sneered, “What’s the point pretending? He said herejected the marriage? Who would ever reject me?”
Soon, James returned to the courtyard where Yoan was staying.
“Let’s go, Sir.”
He called out to Yoan from outside the courtyard.

Jannes said smilingly, “Nothing much We just had a brief conversation.”
“Is that so?” Yoan had a look of disbelief.
“Of course “James nodded.
Yoan did not pursue the matter any further.
“Let’s go.” James turned and left.
The two departed from the Ancient Clan’s territory.
After leaving the Ancient Clan, the two made their way to the Welkin Academy without taking anybreaks
A few days later, they arrived at the Welkin Academy.
“James, there are still three months left before the Grand Tournament. I don’t know what cultivationrank and physical strength you’ve reached after going into the Pagoda of Flames, but you better notwaste these three months. You have to train hard and prepare for the Grand Tournament.”
With that said, he took out some Energy Enhancement Elixirs.
“Here’s some Energy Enhancement Elixirs. They can quickly increase your True Energy.”
“Thank you, Sir.” James accepted the elixirs.

After he finished speaking, Yoan turned to leave.

He was gone for six months and did not know what had happened to Melany during this period.
James did not rest on Mount Crescent but walked toward the peak where the ordinary disciples stayed.
