Chapter 2141

Chapter 2141

Along the way, corpses were strewn about on the ground.

It was a gruesome sight.

Even James was appalled. He never expected the Dark Keep to be so devoid of morals that they woulderadicate a whole city.

Laelia quickly rushed in the direction of the Imperial Palace.

Within the palace’s perimeter, more corpses were scattered on the floor.

The floor was soaked in fresh blood.

Laelia had to step over bodies in order to advance forward.

Soon, she entered the palace.

Many dead armored guards could be seen inside the palace, and it was evident that they diedmiserable deaths.

Laelia rushed inside, but corpses were piled up around the palace, and she could not find a singleliving person.

“Father…”

She fell to the ground and wailed in despair.

James had no idea how to console her.

After a while, James attempted to comfort her. “Let’s search the palace first to see if we find

your relatives’ remains. It’s possible they were spared and captured instead.”

Laelia finally calmed herself and began to search through the heaps of dead bodies.

After a long time, she returned to James’ side.

James looked at her and asked, “Did you find any of them?”

Laelia gently shook her head and said, “No, I didn’t find any of my relatives’ bodies. They must havebeen captured by the Dark Keep.”

James nodded and said, “That’s highly likely since their main goal is to obtain the treasure your familypossesses. It’s unlikely they’ll carelessly dispose of your relatives before they are able to obtain it.”

With a tear-streaked face, Laelia looked at James and pleaded, “You must help me, Sir. You’re the onlyone who can help me right now. I really don’t know what I can do without you.”

James was troubled as he replied, “…But I’ve no idea where the Dark Keep’s base is. I also haven’t aclue where these people have taken your father and relatives.”

“I…”

Laelia thought for a while and said, “There’s a person who knows where the Dark Keeps’ base islocated.”

“Who?” asked James.

Laelia replied, “The Lord of Liberty City.

James inquired, “What kind of person is he?”

Laelia explained, “Liberty City commands a lot of authority in the Land of Tabal. The City Lord’s realname is unknown, but he goes by the monicker of Cloyd Xavier. He’s one of the most powerful men inthe Land of Tabal. Our family used to be on friendly terms with him. If we look for him, he should beable to tell us more about the Dark Keep.”

“Then we shouldn’t waste any more time. Let’s go right away.”

James walked out with long strides.

Laelia followed behind him.

The two left Tabalham, which had become a dead city.

They appeared outside another city three days after departing from the Tabal Empire.

It was a massive city with hectic traffic and bustling crowds.

A few vivid words were carved into the high city walls- Liberty City.

Laelia said softly, “Cloyd is incredibly strong and is currently one of the top ten powerhouses within theLand of Tabal. Liberty City’s cultivators also come from all over the world and are mainly comprised ofpeople who weren’t accepted by other places.”

“However, Cloyd gave these people sanctuary in the city.”

“Regardless of one’s actions outside or even if one is currently a fugitive, Cloyd will protect anyone thatseeks refuge in Liberty City.”novelbin

James nodded. “Mhm. Let’s go.”

The two entered the city.

Laelia no longer exuded a noble presence and was dressed in plain clothes to blend in as an averageperson.

The two easily entered Liberty City and did not face any difficulties at the gates.
