Chapter 1439

Chapter 1439

"Who are you looking for?" When Thea looked at the strange man in front of her, she was taken aback.

The strange man was roughly in his forties, dressed plainly, and looked like a farmer.

He took out an elegant invitation and presented it to Thea.

'What's this?" Thea accepted it, puzzled.

"It's for James Caden," said the strange man.

He turned around and left after saying that.

Thea did not open it to take a look. She shut the gate and walked back into the house.

As soon as she entered, James asked, 'Thea, who was it?"

"I don't know. They came to deliver an invitation to you."

Thea handed over the invitation she had in her hands.

"For me?"

James stared at the invitation in his hand, a puzzled expression on his face, and began to examine it.

The invitation was beautifully made. Nothing was written on the cover.

With confusion, he opened it.

'Letter of challenge.'

As soon as he opened it, he noticed these three words, large and conspicuous.

"After a week. In the Southern Plains, at Mt. Thunder Pass. A fight to the death."

When James read the words on the invitation, he was immediately baffled.

Thea also moved closer to take a look.

After reading the invitation, she asked, bewildered as well, "A letter of challenge.

In this day and age, who sends a letter of challenge? They didn't even leave their name."novelbin

"How would I know?"

James did not bother to give it much thought and casually tossed the letter he was holding onto thetable.

He had too much on his plate right now. He did not have the time to travel to Mt.

Thunder Pass in the Southern Plains for a fight.

"Are you going?" asked Thea.

"I’m not going. This might be a ruse to lure me away. I can't leave the Capital right now.

If I leave and something happens, I certainly won’t be able to make it back in time."

"Oh."

Thea uttered a quiet ’oh’ and did not ask any more questions.

However, at this precise moment, James’ phone started to ring.

He pulled out his phone and took a glance. The caller was an unknown number.

After a brief hesitation, he took the call.

'Who is it?" James asked.

A deep voice could be heard through the phone.

"Have you received the letter of challenge, James?"

James perked up and straightened his back.

"You’re the one who sent me the letter. Who are you?" he asked.

'Who I am is irrelevant. If you want Delilah to live, let's have a duel at Mt. Thunder Pass in the SouthernPlains after a week.

If you defeat me, I’ll let her go. If you lose, both of you must die."

Beep, beep, beep...

The other person ended the call.

James' expression slowly darkened.

Thea was sitting right next to James. She also heard what the other person had said.

"Honey, are you going then?"

"Yes, I’ll go."

James wore a solemn expression.

He did not know who sent him the letter of challenge.

Nevertheless, he had to go since this involved Delilah. It involved the daughter of his former comrade-in-arms.

Even if Mt. Thunder Pass was hostile territory, he had to go.

"I’m going to call Maxine. I'll have her look into this with the connections of the Caden family and findout who sent you this letter," said Thea.

"Alright."

James nodded.

He leaned against the sofa and started to get lost in his thoughts.

James had already reached the eighth rank.

Aside from that, it was no secret that he had defeated the Archbishop at Mount Olympus in Durandal, demonstrating his immense strength.

Every ancient martial artist in Sol should have been aware of his power.

Despite all of that, someone sent him a letter of challenge.

Who was this person?
