Harlan had a gentle demeanor and a pleasant voice as he spoke, "I'm not inspecting work today,just passing by and thought I'd come in for a cup of coffee."
"A latte, please. Thank you," he said, walking towards his usual spot not far away.
"Sure thing, boss," the young and beautiful server nodded and quickly went to prepare his order.
Harlan unintentionally caught sight of Summer not far away, her beautiful profile instantlyrecognizable to him.
He paused for a moment, feeling a sudden rush of joy. It turned out she also enjoyed coffee, andher choice to listen indicated a refined taste.
It seemed that he and Summer were kindred spirits.
Summer was engrossed in conversation with Claire, their eyes only for each other, completelyunaware of the gaze that had fallen upon her not far away.
The classical music lingering in the air created a serene ambiance.
As Harlan took his seat, his romantic history was like a blank canvas; despite being in theentertainment industry, he had always kept himself clean.
A person of excellence had high standards for their significant other.
He had always been searching for a girl who would make his heart skip a beat at first sight, a girlwhose smile would be irresistible, one who was unique, pleasing to the eye, and who he would loveunconditionally for no reason.
It seemed like he had found her this time.
With growing certainty, Harlan felt that he had fallen in love at first sight with Summer.
But Summer remained oblivious, as Harlan conducted himself with gentlemanly manners and madeno advances.
About half an hour later, Claire's phone rang.
She received a call from Rowan, "Alright, come pick me up. We're pretty much done chatting aswell. Bye." With that, she hung up. "Summer, I have to leave soon. Feel free to contact me anytimein the future."
Summer found the meeting very enjoyable. "Claire, it was nice meeting you. Thanks for coming outto explain Zoe's character to me; it gave me a deeper understanding."
"No need to thank me; I felt comfortable chatting with you," Claire also felt pleased.
As Summer and Claire got up to leave, Summer caught sight of Harlan sitting not far away. Theireyes met as he turned to look at her.
"What a coincidence, Summer," Harlan greeted her warmly as he stood up.
Summer, pleasantly surprised, introduced them, "Claire, this is my partner, the actor playing Maren,Harlan."
"Harlan, this is Miss Claire Russell, the author of the script," her introduction was spot on.
"Hello, Miss Russell," Harlan extended his hand politely, exuding a gentlemanly air.
"Hello, nice to meet you," Claire replied with a smile.
As they shook hands, Claire noticed a familiar car parked outside and said, "My husband is here topick me up. I'll leave you two to chat, bye."novelbin
"Bye."
As Claire walked out, Harlan extended an invitation to Summer, "Summer, care to join me for a cupof coffee?"
Summer watched Claire leave, then turned her gaze back to him, noticing a seriousness in his eyesthat reminded her of the coffee incident on set earlier that day.
Feeling a sense of apology as one of the involved parties, she nodded, "Sure."
"Please, have a seat," he said happily, signaling for the server to bring the coffee menu.
After taking a look, he passed it over to her sitting across from him. "There's more than just coffeehere, plenty of other beverages like tea and low-alcohol cocktails, all delicious. You don't have todrink coffee."
"I have no problem drinking coffee," Summer raised her eyes, gave him a slight smile, and then toldthe server, "I'll have a latte, thank you."
"Of course, please wait a moment," the server glanced at the girl with joy before turning away. Trulybeautiful, she matched this gentleman so well!
When the gentleman looked at the girl, there was a glint in his eyes.
