Inside a coffee shop at downtown Moranta, Mindy lazily looked at Astrid across from her.
With a faint smile on her face, she said, “Before I came here, I did some research on you. I found outthat you're Caridee's friend. Would you harm her?”
Astrid's face looked rather unpleasant, but under the relentless pressure from Tucker, she had nochoice but to extend her evil claws towards Caridee once again. This was not what she wanted, butsince Tucker threatened her with the safety of her entire family, she had no choice but to compromise.
“Since you've investigated me, you should know that when Caridee was persecuted by Mr. Carter, Iwas the one who drugged her and sent her to his resting room.”
Mindy nodded and sneered, “Yes, I did find out about this, which is why I came to see you today.Otherwise, I wouldn't have acted rashly. Heaven knows whose side you're on and where your loyaltieslie, but from what I can see now, you do seem to have come with sincerity to collaborate with me. SinceMr. Carter vouches for you, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt this time. But you better not try anytricks, or you'll meet a miserable end.”
Astrid nodded and said, “I don't doubt the harsh words you've just spoken because you're the daughterof the branch leader in the Saviors, and I can't simply affront you. Astrid's eyes sparkled slightly. She indeed had ways to force Caridee out of the Saviors, but she wastorn inside. If that were really done, Caridee would definitely fall into the hands of Shaun.
