Chapter 755

Bailey raised her eyebrows slightly, and the corner of her lips curled in a half-smile.

What is going on here? Is he trying to kneel and beg for forgiveness?

Although Bailey was secretly happy, she remained expressionless.

She looked at him indifferently and asked lightly, “Didn't you say you didn't want to see me? Weren'tyou trying to drive me away? Why are you trying to get closer to me now? Aren't you embarrassingyourself?”

Artemis placed the tray on the table and said gently,

“You haven't eaten anything all day. Be good and listen to me. Don't torment yourself. Have a bowl ofsoup first to fill your stomach.”

Bailey couldn't help but mock, “Soup again? How can I dare to drink soup now? There must besomething added to your soup. Once bitten, twice shy. I've already fallen for it once. How could I befoolish enough to fall for it again?”

Artemis couldn't help but laugh.

“Stop teasing me. Drugging someone once is enough; doing it again wouldn't be that interesting. Beupset if you want, but don't starve yourself and harm your body.”

Bailey's gaze fell on the washboard in his hand, and she sneered.

“What is this? Did you bring it in front of me just for show?” Artemis threw the washboard on theground, picked up the porcelain bowl, and handed it to her.

“You be good and drink the soup first. After you finish, I'll kneel on it.”

Hah! He's even bargaining with me.

“I won't drink, and you don't need to kneel.” Artemis narrowed his eyes slightly, a hint of dangerflashing. His aura suddenly changed, exuding the presence of a born leader.

“If you refuse to drink, I'll have no choice but to let them escort you out.” Bailey snorted and swiped thebowl out of his hand. With a crisp sound, the bowl shattered into pieces, and the soup splattered allover the floor.

“Bailey...”

Artemis drew out the last syllable, his eyes flickering with a dangerous glint. Bailey snorted indifferentlytwice, not at all intimidated by his dominant demeanor.

“Sorry. My hands shook, and I couldn't catch it. That's why I spilled it.”

Artemis let out a silent sigh and walked toward the washboard. He didn't mind the kneeling part much, but her not eating anything worried him.

After walking up to the washboard, he didn't say a word and directly knelt on one knee on top of it.

Artemis hit the washboard hard, bumping onto its pinion.

Thus, a shattering pain shot through his kneecap. Bailey originally wanted to rush over and stop him. They were in Tarragon, and Artemis was the ruler of the vast empire.

Thus, there was no way he could kneel before a woman.

If his subordinates were to see this, he would surely embarrass himself. Ultimately, she couldn't stophim, so she just let him kneel.

When a man made a mistake, he would likely make the same mistake again if he were not properlytaught a lesson.

Besides, Artemis only used a single knee to kneel, which didn't humiliate his dignity. Every man wouldkneel before a woman at least once during their proposal.

Bailey took it as a marriage proposal. Although his kneeling on a washboard was a bit of a mood killer,it wasn't something she couldn't accept.

“Bay, I'm sorry. I truly realize my mistake now. You have every right to be angry. If I were in your shoes,I'd probably lose my temper too. Although angry, please don't let it harm your health. While you're alive,I hope you can live a comfortable life. When the day of death comes, we'll die together.” Baileysneered.

“What? Have you finally come to your senses and realized your own mistake?”

“Yes,” Artemis honestly replied.

“I was wrong. Really wrong, in fact. I promise this is the last time and won't happen again. If it does, you can punish me by... never talking to me again.”

Bailey stifled a laugh and lightly coughed twice before leisurely saying, “Either leave or continuekneeling without a word. I have important matters to deal with.”

Artemis obediently closed his mouth. Lowering his head slightly, he listened to the rustling sound shemade as she flipped through the documents.

However, his body wouldn't allow him to kneel for an extended period. He began to tremble gently amoment later, his entire body seemingly on the verge of collapse. Although Bailey was looking at thedocuments in front of her, she kept looking at Artemis at the corner of her eyes.

Her heart ached with a tightening pain when she saw him trembling violently. Bailey devoted her entirelife to loving this man, considering him her destiny.

Although she was angry and resentful in her heart, it all seemed so insignificant compared to hishealth.

After a moment of silence, she slowly stood up and walked over to him, squatting before him. Shereached out with her slender, fair fingers and gently caressed his handsome face. Artemis slowly raisedhis head, meeting her gaze. There was a barely noticeable gleam in his hawk-like eyes.

“Bailey...”

Bailey looked at him with tearful eyes and replied in a choked voice, “Why are you so foolish? Why doyou think that leaving me is the greatest kindness you can show me? I indeed have parents andchildren. Even without you, I won't be alone in this world. However, I'll always be missing a piece of myheart and live my life as a zombie. Is that what you really want?” novelbin

Artemis moved his stiff mouth slightly and began to cough violently. A surge of blood swirled in hisabdomen, and he suddenly leaned forward, spitting out a mouthful of black blood.

Tears brewed in Bailey's eyes and they dropped down like a waterfall. However, she didn't look at thepool of blood on the ground. Instead, she quickly reached out and embraced him.

“Artemis, can you feel it? My world is trembling. I'm terrified, and I'm scared. Every day will be like this ifyou leave me in the future. Even so, can you still bear to leave me behind?”

Artemis lowered his head to look at her and asked tearfully, “Aren't you afraid of dying?” Bailey laughedsoftly.

“Don't worry. I'm more afraid of living a life worse than death. If you leave me alone, I'll have to live theway I fear the most. Do you see how cruel you are to me?” Artemis slowly reached out and embracedhim.

All right. Since the memory loss pill couldn't erase her memories, there's even less hope for hypnosis towork. If she were to live with those memories, it would indeed be exceptionally cruel.

“All right. I'll be kinder to you and won't try to drive you away anymore. I'll support your decision if youwant to come with me.” Bailey sneered.

“I don't want to die with you right now. Why not live a good life when I can?”

After saying that, she reached out, grabbed his arm, and pulled him up. Artemis instinctively embracedher. When he looked into her confident gaze and saw the certainty of victory in her expression, hesuddenly felt a tinge of regret. He should have believe her.

My Bay is so impressive. There's anything that she can't handle. Perhaps she really can concoct anantidote.

“Judging by your tone and expression, you've already thought of a way to detoxify me. Am I saved?”Bailey let out a humph and landed a punch on his chest.

“Why didn't you believe me, then?” At that, Artemis cried out in pain. Bailey's expression changedinstantly, and she hurriedly pushed him away to check his condition.

“What's wrong? Was I too hard on you? Did I hurt you anywhere?”

Artemis hugged her again.

“No. I was just teasing you.” Bailey glared at him.

“The matter of drugging isn't over yet. If you want me to forgive you, there's only one condition...”
