Chapter 664

Edmund did not move a muscle.

Bailey would be left high and dry if he went away right now.

If he stayed, they could look out for each other, and he would at least be able to take one for her if thecircumstance called for it.

If Edmund left just like that, there would be no one to provide her with support if the need arose. Thiswould also defeat the purpose of them coming together.

Bailey understood Edmund all too well. With just a glance, she was able to guess his intentions. It lookslike he's ready to sacrifice his own life to protect me. Hey, don't you need to get my consent first?

After a moment of silence, Bailey said tentatively, “I risked my life to make it here in order to save Justinand Veronique. If you refuse to bring them to safety, then what we've done would have been fornaught. Look, Veronique is down to her last breath. She's really going to die if you refuse to rescueher.”

Grimacing, Edmund pursed his lips but said nothing.

Through gritted teeth, Bailey said, “If Veronique dies here, I probably won't be leaving here either. Iwould choose to die with her. At least she'll have some company.”

Edmund was intimidated by the expression he saw in Bailey's eyes. He knew the latter would do asshe said, so he had to protect Veronique in order to protect Bailey. “I've never been cruel to youthroughout the years. I advise you to take good care of your life lest others die for you. If you don't wish

to be held responsible for so many lives, stay alive.”

Bailey chuckled lowly and did not reply. Now was not the right time to speak of such grand gestures.Without a doubt, she was trying to provoke Yvette. “Go on. Death is inevitable for everyone.”

Edmund reached out and hugged her. He whispered in her ear, “You said in the car that you would giveme a chance in our next life. If I'm more selfish, I will wish for your death so that I can join you. Let's goto the other world and continue this relationship. However, I don't wish for you to die. This world is awonderful place. You should take your time and enjoy what life has to offer. Promise me you'll stayalive.”

After saying that, he pushed her away roughly and strode toward the pillar where Veronique and Justinwere bound.

He undid the ropes that bound Justin. The moment the ropes came undone, Justin slid limply to theground.

Edmund took a pill and shoved it into the other man's mouth.

With some difficulty, Justin swallowed the pill and whispered hoarsely, “Thank you. Hurry and freeVeronique. I don't think she can hang on any longer.”

Edmund was already on the move before the other man reminded him.

Justin struggled to stand up when he saw that Edmund had untied the ropes binding Veronique. novelbin

Half carrying Veronique while supporting Justin with his other arm, Edmund headed toward the factoryexit.

Yvette's eyes darkened. To Bailey, she said, “They'll die if you try to pull any tricks.”

Bailey shrugged in response. “I know everyone here is on your payroll. I won't try anything before theyget to safety.”

Yvette snorted, then gestured at the bodyguards who flanked her. “Tie her up.”

The two bodyguards picked up the ropes and came toward Bailey.

Bailey played along and allowed the two of them to bind her securely. Yvette is right. I can't do anythingbefore Edmund and the others get to safety. I'd be signing their death warrants if I did.

“All right, since I've become your captive, tell me what you intend to do with me. It's quite punishing tostand out here in this cold weather. Why don't we get it over with? Tell me how you wish to proceed, and I'll go along with your whims.”

Yvette came over and kicked Bailey's calf.

Although it was not a light kick, Bailey did not move the slightest.

Yvette's expression immediately turned vicious. “You have sturdy bones.” Upon saying that, she liftedher foot and kicked Bailey's calf in the exact same spot again. This time, however, Yvette had used thepointy end of her high heel. Unable to bear the pain that suddenly burst forth, Bailey fell to the groundon one knee.

“Not so tough now, are we?” Yvette said as she reached out and grabbed Bailey's chin. Jealousysurged in her eyes as her gaze landed on the latter's delicate features.

This b*tch! Why does she get to have all the good things in the world? Not only does she havecountless amazing identities, but she also managed to capture the heart of the most outstanding manin the country. Despite the countless criticism and curses, she did not end up in a wretched state.Instead, she was able to thrive. It makes me want to tear her to shreds whenever I look at her.

“Bailey, you probably never thought that you would be captured by me. So what if you're the head ofthe Saviors or an internationally renowned leader? You were defeated by me and you're at my mercy atthe moment. Say, how should I torture you to relieve the hatred I feel in my heart?”

Bailey arched her brow and gave Yvette the side eye. She sneered, “Artemis that jerk probably sleptwith you, right? So where is he? Why don't you summon him and order him to kill me with his ownhands? Won't it be the greatest torture for me to die at the hands of the man I love? I'll probably neverbe at peace.”

Yvette narrowed her eyes. Presently, she felt heady with power. The pleasure of carrying out herrevenge had risen and was currently spreading in her belly. It had utterly consumed her sanity.

I have to admit. That's quite a good suggestion. Won't it feel great to call Artemis here and see himpersonally kill her? Although Bailey looks indifferent, she couldn't have forgotten her love for him. It isindeed the cruelest to go if she dies at the hands of the man she loves. It's also much more effectivethan the torture methods I have in mind.

When Bailey saw that Yvette was thinking it over, she continued, “Truth be told, I was livid when I found

out that he had issued a global kill order on me. I was devastated when I saw that he was with you. Myheart hurts as if I've been cut with a knife whenever I think about it. Perhaps dying at his hands wouldbe a relief. Or perhaps it would be torture? Actually, he may still care about our previous relationshipand decide to let me go. You'd better not bet on this.”

A crisp slap echoed in the air as Yvette struck Bailey's face.

Perhaps Yvette's hand was numb from the cold, or maybe it was because there wasn't a great deal offorce behind the slap. Bailey only shrugged indifferently in response.

“You think Artemis still cares about your previous relationship? I think you've overestimated yourself. From the instant he gave out the kill order to the moment he slept with me, it already proves that youmean nothing to him. Killing you will be a piece of cake. Fine, I'll do as you wish. I'll give him a call andinvite him over.” Upon saying that, Yvette headed into the warehouse. She ordered, “Tie this b*tch tothe pillar and pour cold water on her. Let her experience a bone-chilling cold.”
