Chapter 659

Bailey frowned. No wonder the gash on my arm feels so unbearably itchy. Turns out the blade waspoisoned. Still...

“I can't believe how stubborn you are, causing trouble even at this juncture. What's the matter? Do youthink your fate isn't sufficiently tragic, so you want me to make things more miserable for you, is that it?”

Shirley laughed maniacally. “You've already ruined my life, so what's there to be afraid of even if I wereto die? My death is insignificant, but if I can cause you to perish alongside me, it'll be a huge win forme, isn't that right?”

Bailey subconsciously covered her arm as an agonized expression flashed across her face.

To be precise, her expression changed because she couldn't bear the itchiness.

However, Shirley perceived her reaction differently. “What's going on? Are you afraid to die? Haha! Iguess you're not so impressive, after all. Do you want me to hand you the antidote so that you canpreserve your pathetic life?”

Bailey narrowed her eyes and sized Shirley up as clarity washed over her. Falling down the stairs isonly the first step of her plan. The second step is to seize the opportunity to stay in the medical base sothat she can have the chance to get close to me and assassinate me. However, I'm curious aboutwhere she got the poison. Logically, only Cadence is capable of developing such poison, but that oldbat is dead. I hypnotized him and left him to suffer a horrible death inside the abandoned warehouse inthe suburbs, so how could Shirley lay her hands on the toxin created by Cadence?

After falling silent for a few moments, she seemed to have thought of something, and everything made

sense to her. That's right. Cadence used to be involved with Rhonda for some time, so it wouldn't besurprising if she acquired some poisons from him to be used in case of emergencies. That meansShirley met with Rhonda, or Rhonda established contact with Shirley. They've collaborated toassassinate me, one providing the poison while the other executing the plan.

Although she had a guess, she kept the thought to herself.

“This poison is indeed potent. Even with my medical expertise, this poison can still be lethal. I'm notadept at detoxification, so there's really nothing I can do about this. So, tell me. What do you want inexchange for the antidote?”

Shirley's rationale was consumed by her intense hatred, causing her to lose her ability to think. Shecouldn't even sense the undisguised mockery filling Bailey's eyes.

“Ha! It seems like you're genuinely afraid of death. Well, that sounds about right. Why would a personlike you, who indulge in everyone's affection and enjoy all the luxuries in this world, be willing to die?Do you want to live? Are you desperate to have the antidote? No problem! Why don't you kneel beforeme? Perhaps I'll give you the antidote if I'm pleased.”

Bailey arched her brow. Is she trying to humiliate me using that method? That'll depend on whether shepossesses the bargaining chip or not. If I'm not mistaken, the antidote should still be with Rhonda.Rhonda tried everything she can to poison me because she wants to force me to beg her, right?Judging by how much Rhonda hates me, would she give Shirley the antidote? If she had done that, allher effort would've gone to waste.

Bailey grinned at Shirley. Although her body was trembling from the discomfort, she appeared calm and

unfazed. “Will you give me the antidote if I kneel before you?”

Hearing that question, Shirley laughed even crazily.

At that moment, Zeke rushed out from the study and supported Bailey, who was staggering. Henarrowed his eyes at Shirley and uttered in a deep voice, “Hand over the antidote.”

The hatred in Shirley's eyes intensified when she saw him.

“You don't have the right to talk to me. I've admired, pursued, and treated you wholeheartedly all theseyears, but what have I acquired in the end? Ultimately, I'm no more than a joke. I want you to leave.Otherwise, I'll destroy the antidote and drag Bailey down to hell with me.”

After saying that, she produced a porcelain bottle from her pocket and pretended she was going tosmash it on the ground.

Zeke gazed at Bailey with knitted brows. “Have you really been poisoned? Is that the only antidote thatcan cure you?”

Bailey nodded. She reached out to push him away and approached Shirley. She spoke as sheadvanced. “Look into my eyes and see how I'm kneeling in front of you.”

Shirley met Bailey's gaze. The next second, the former's eyes began to lose focus.

Staring coldly into Shirley's eyes, Bailey controlled her with hypnosis and uttered in a sing-song voice,“I've knelt before you. Do you remember it now?”

Shirley nodded in a daze.

Bailey repeated those words a few more times before suddenly snapping her fingers in front ofShirley's eyes.

The next instant, Shirley began to roar with laughter.

“Bailey, I bet you never saw this coming. Haha! To think that you would one day kneel before me. I'vefinally gotten my revenge.”

Bailey pretended as if she was getting up from the floor. She then narrowed her eyes at Shirley andsaid through gritted teeth, “Can you give me the antidote now?”

Shirley laughed sinisterly. “Antidote? I'm sorry, but I don't have it. What's inside this bottle is a fake. You've been fooled. Haha! However, I can tell you where the real antidote is. It's with Rhonda, so whydon't you go and beg her?”

Bailey's expression darkened. As I expected. She's working with Rhonda. “Are you sure it's inRhonda's possession?”

“Hahaha! That's right. The antidote is with her. I was just toying with you just now. It was worth it since Imade you kneel before me. As for whether you can get the antidote from Rhonda, that will depend onyour abilities. Still, I reckon she probably won't give it to you.”

Shirley continued laughing unrestrainedly like a lunatic.

A voice echoed incessantly in her mind. Bailey knelt before me. Bailey knelt before me. Haha! Bailey

really knelt before me!

At that moment, Genevieve hurried over from afar and hugged Shirley. “What's wrong with you,Shirley? Why are you suddenly behaving like a crazy person?”

Shirley grasped her mother's wrist and guffawed. “Mom, did you see that? Bailey got on her knees infront of me. She knelt before me just now. I've completely humiliated her. Haha!”

Genevieve had come out when Shirley and Bailey started arguing, but she was too far away and tooksome time to reach.

She didn't see Bailey getting on her knees.

“I didn't see that. Bailey didn't get on her knees. Shirley, you've gone mad.”

Shirley was briefly stunned. A second later, she abruptly pushed Genevieve away. “How is thatpossible? She just—” novelbin

The false memory implanted in her mind dissipated, and the effect of the hypnosis slowly wore off aswell.

Her mind gradually sharpened, and she realized she didn't see Bailey get on her knees.

The thrill of getting her revenge fulfilled receded like a tide, causing her to feel as if she had fallen fromheaven to hell in an instant. Everything that had happened just now was just my imagination. This b*tchhypnotized me. No. This is the dream-making technique. The long lost dream-making technique.“Bailey, you deceived me. I can't believe you used such dirty tricks against me! Karma will punish you!”
