In the study of the Shurmer residence, Zeke was engaged in a conversation with Steven.

Steven asked, “I heard that you were ambushed on the way here, and Raiden sent his troops to saveyou. What happened? Why would someone want to kill Bay?”

He knew Bailey disliked him and dared not approach her. However, he had been feeling unsettled forthe past few days.

Steven flashed an awkward smile and rose from his seat, preparing to head out. “I think I'll take a lookfor myself. It's probably best if you all remain here and continue talking. Stay for lunch later, all right?”

After watching him leave, Zeke arched a brow and asked, “What's going on?”

Bailey's expression was cold as she revealed calmly, “Bad news. The embryo has been severelyaffected, and this will have an immense impact on its development. There is an eighty percent chancethat the baby will be born with deformities, and even if that is not the case, it will most likely suffer fromsome form of physical or mental disability. They are bringing misfortune upon themselves if they insiston keeping the baby.”
