When Lionel walked into the study, he saw Victor leaning against the couch nonchalantly while sippinghis coffee.
“Look who's here? It's my brother-in-law. I'm contemplating whether I should head over to the infirmaryto meet you since I thought you didn't dare to meet me. I heard my sister suffered symptoms ofmiscarriage. How is she? Did she lose the baby?”
Lionel crossed the room and took a seat across from Victor with a deadpan look. Gazing at Victor withcold eyes, he demanded, “Tell me your terms. Since we're both sensible people, there's no need to talkin a roundabout way. Just cut to the chase.”
The corner of Victor's lip curled into a cold grin. The minute he set his cup down on the table, the smileon his faded and was replaced by a contorted look.
“You refused to listen when I talked to you nicely. You left me no choice but to dig for any dirt you have.Look where we are now. I found out your secret. Let's see how long you can keep up your attitude.”
The light shining in Lionel's eyes slowly dimmed until intense hostility filled them.
I'm not scared of revealing the truth. It's a fact that my father harmed Victoria's mother. As his son, Ishould atone for his sins. However, Victoria is pregnant and suffers from symptoms of miscarriage.She's ordered to stay in bed and rest. She can't take any more shock as she is. Victor's laughter echoed in the room, snapping Lionel out of his train of thought.

You're afraid that Victoria willdiscover that my mother died from the car accident your father had plotted. Moreover, the revenge youalways talk about is nothing but a joke. Victor answered straightforwardly, “Well, first, transfer the Saunders Group's share to my name.Second, I want all the shares of LG Corporation. I'll take the secret of your father murdering my motherto the grave if you can fulfill my two demands.”
With an arch of his brow, Lionel chuckled. “How greedy of you. Aren't you afraid that I'll kill you? Afterall, only the dead can keep a secret.”
Victor shrugged and taunted, “Kill me, then. I'm stretching out my neck now, waiting for you to beheadme, but... I'm the only family left Victoria has in this world. Even though she says she doesn'tacknowledge me as her brother, I know she still thinks of me as one. She will never forgive you if youkill me.”
Lionel shook his head as he laughed. “Victor, you're truly an assh*le. Victoria sure is unfortunate tohave a shameless brother like you. Okay, I agree with both of your demands. Give me a week, and I'lldeal with the procedures. I also hope that you'll keep your promise. Don't make a scene in front ofVictoria, at least before she delivers.”
Victor gave him a perplexed look.
I thought he would at least hesitate for a few days. I didn't expect him to agree to my demandsimmediately. From my understanding, he holds sixty percent of LG Corporation's shares, meaning he'sthe biggest shareholder. Those shares are worth hundreds of billions. I didn't think he would give up onsuch a fortune for a down-and-out toy. This guy is so stupid. He can have any women he wants if he'sswimming in cash. With women clamoring around him, he doesn't have to worry about not having anheir. Besides, the baby in Victoria's belly is not even a boy. He's out of his mind for making such adecision.
“You agreed? Just like that?”
Lionel shrugged and smiled. “What else should I say? Reject you and let you reveal the secret toVictoria, then watch her miscarry from getting worked up?”
Victor didn't know how to respond to his sarcasm.
“Rest assured. I won't go back on my words since I already promised you. Give me seven days, and I'lltransfer all the shares to your name.”
Meanwhile, in the hallway, Kimberly had been sticking her ear against the door, eavesdropping on theconversation inside the room.
