Chapter 583

“Mr. Shurmer, welcome back.”

A maid's greeting sounded from the doorway.

Waverly rushed out at the sound.

Her heart sank at the sight of her husband's serious expression.

Could it be Bailey...

“Steven, how is Bailey? She's not badly hurt, is she?”

Although she had chosen her adopted daughter over her biological daughter, it didn't mean she couldturn a blind eye to her own flesh and blood.

Steven looked her up and down before saying in a low voice, “I thought you dislike her. Why do youcare now?”

Waverly stomped her foot and gritted her teeth. “She's still my flesh and blood! How can I not careabout her? Can you stop playing games and tell me what happened?”

After a moment of silence, Steven said slowly, “She's fine. Felicity risked her own life to push her out ofthe car in the face of death and saved her. But... Felicity is now seriously injured and might become avegetable.”

Waverly stared at him in disbelief, “Felicity Chivers? Did she risk her life to save Bailey? Don't joke with

me! I'm certain that woman knows that Bailey was my daughter. How could she possibly use her ownlife to protect my daughter? It's impossible. That will never happen.”

Steven just shook his head and walked toward the living room.

Waverly stood still at the door. Steven's words about Felicity protecting Bailey with her life seemed tohave dealt her a heavy blow.

Indeed, a woman with no blood relation to Bailey and even an arch enemy to her could cherish herdaughter like a treasure. But what had she, the biological mother, done for her daughter?

With such a comparison, how could Waverly not be shaken?

“Felicity used her life to save Bailey. Did she protect my daughter with her own life? Haha, how couldthat be possible?”

...

That night, Felicity's condition fluctuated.

Bailey dared not let her guard down and watched over her in the ICU without even blinking her eyes.

Both the Luther family and the Chivers family, including Zeke, did not leave the medical base and madedo with staying in the guest rooms.

When Bailey went into the ICU, she left her phone with Zayron. novelbin

Late at night, Zayron received a call from the head of the Saviors branch, saying there was movementon their end.

He didn't dare to disturb his mother, so he told Zeke about the situation.

Zeke thought for a moment and tried to suggest, “Although you're the young master of the Saviors, I'llbe worried if you go and handle this alone. If you can take me with you, let me accompany you.”

Zayron was about to refuse, but Edmund patted his head and said in a gentle voice, “Listen to youruncle, Zayron. Don't be stubborn and act impulsive. Your mother's been highly stressed and she can'ttake any more shocks. If something bad happens to you, she will definitely collapse in an instant.”

Zayron shrugged and had to compromise, agreeing to let Zeke accompany him to the Saviors.

The seven-year-old boy still had a childish look on his face, but he had the air of someone who couldconquer the world.

I won't let those who harmed my mother and bullied me off!

Although his mother didn't want him to be exposed to the bloody and dark side of things too early, hislife was destined to be extraordinary—he was Artemis and Bailey's son.

Anyway, he would have to face it sooner or later, so why not face it earlier?

At the Saviors' division, Zayron and Zeke entered the dungeon through a secret passage, catching thedivision leader off guard.

“Young master, the dungeon is off-limits to outsiders, and no one is allowed in,” the leader said insurprise.

Zayron waved his hand dismissively. “He's my uncle, not an outsider. Don't be bound by these archaicrules. Where is the culprit?”

The leader hesitated, sensing that something was off about the young master tonight. Zayron might beyoung, but he was terrifyingly calm, so the leader stopped talking and took them to the innermost cell.

“I received word that someone has been moving personnel within the division. I suspect they plan toraid the prison to rescue the prisoner or kill the prisoner directly.”

Zayron nodded and stepped into the cell.

The scar-faced man bound to the stake looked at him disdainfully and sneered, “A group of grown mencouldn't get me to talk, so what makes you think a little boy can... Ah!”

A piercing scream echoed through the room as Zayron plunged a syringe into the man's arm andpressed the plunger down, injecting the red liquid into the man's vein.

“Do you know what this is? It's a drug developed by an unknown doctor that amplifies a person's painreceptors a hundredfold. Your body is covered in wounds from the previous torture, so as soon as thisdrug enters your system, you will feel excruciating pain.”

Zayron spoke calmly, his black eyes were devoid of fear or hesitation. Even though they lacked thesharpness of his father's, they were still terrifying.

“I've only injected one drop, and you're already feeling ten times the pain. If I inject ten drops, you'll... Iknow you value your life and are waiting for someone to come and save you. But unfortunately, they'renot here to rescue you. They're here to kill you and silence you. So, tell me who gave the order, and I'llgive you a chance to live.”
