Chapter 579

The two little ones standing by the door darted past the two bodyguards before they could do anything.

Upon sensing something was amiss, the bodyguard hurried downstairs to look for Waverly.

Inside the room, Shirley greeted the children with a warm smile. “You're Zayron? And you're Maxton?Hello, I'm your aunt.”

Zayron sneered.

Even Maxton followed suit.

Shirley's smile faltered as she sensed their hostile vibes. “Is everything okay? Did I say somethingwrong?”

“You're a shameless woman,” Zayron said.

“B*tch,” Maxton chimed in.

Shirley's expression darkened. She narrowed her eyes, stared at them, and said indifferently, “Pleaseleave if you're not here to see me. I need to rest.”

Zayron walked to the bedside and whispered, “I know the truth. The person who slept with my unclethat night wasn't you, but Ms. Stone. I heard she's pregnant with his child.” novelbin

Shirley's eyes widened in disbelief, and her body began to shake uncontrollably. How did he find outabout it? How could he possibly know that Juliana was the one who went into Zeke's room, not me?

“Y-You're just making up stories!” she protested. Her voice quivered with anger and fear.

“I made up stories? Should I bring Ms. Stone over so that you can confront her face-to-face?” Zayronsaid.

Shirley trembled even more violently. She pointed at Zayron but was too agitated to speak.

Meanwhile, Waverly's face turned pale when she rushed into the room and witnessed the commotion. She quickly walked to the bed and pulled the two boys away.

“Shirley, stay calm. The baby is not yet stable, and if you become agitated again, there is a risk of amiscarriage.”

Shirley held onto Waverly's arm anxiously and said, “I am really pregnant with Zeke's child. If you don'tbelieve me, you can send someone to do an amniocentesis. “Even if I have a miscarriage, I will stillwant to clear my name.”

After hearing what she said, Waverly probably figured out what the two rascals had said to provoke her.“Don't say that. Of course, I believe you. The fetus is not stable at the moment, and performing anamniocentesis could lead to a miscarriage. Don't pay attention to those two troublemakers. Theyintentionally came here to cause trouble and provoke you. They have malicious intentions even at sucha young age, and I'm afraid they will continue to cause trouble in the future.”

After that, she yelled at the two bodyguards at the door. “Get them out of here as far away as possible!”

Shirley clutched her stomach in agony, moaning, “It hurts, my stomach, my baby...”

Waverly's expression turned dark as she glared at the mischievous duo, grinding her teeth. “If anythinghappens to her baby, I'll skin you alive. Is anyone outside? Hurry, go fetch a doctor.”

In a matter of seconds, chaos erupted in the Shurmer family.

The two brothers exchanged knowing glances, each aware of the other's cunning intentions. What aweakling. She's not even one-tenth as formidable as Rhonda.

...

Meanwhile, on a tree-lined avenue in the suburbs, the screeching of emergency brakes shattered thetranquility of the rainy sky, sending scattered pedestrians on the roadside fleeing in panic.

“Mrs. Luther, Ms. Bailey, someone is after us!” Came the voice of Andy through the earpiece.

Felicity and Bailey met each other's gaze, and their expressions turned cold.

“Quickly pull over to the side of the road,” Bailey ordered the driver.

He replied, “Yes, Ms. Bailey.”

The driver abruptly turned the steering wheel, attempting to maneuver around the obstacles and parkthe car on the sidewalk.

That area was relatively empty, and the pedestrians had dispersed, making it safer for them to avoidany potential accidents.

However, his driving skills were lacking. Despite his repeated attempts, he had not succeeded.

Bailey grimaced at the turn of events. It was evident that someone had tampered with the road surface, causing the car to skid and making it impossible to move.

“Hit the brake, then slowly move over to the passenger seat. I'll take over,” Bailey exclaimed.

The driver did not dare delay and promptly followed her instructions.

At that point, Felicity had already quietly opened the car door, waiting for any sudden situation to ariseso that she could pull Bailey over and jump out of the vehicle.

As the driver had already vacated the driver's seat Bailey bent over, trying to squeeze through the gapbetween the driver's and passenger's seats.

“Ah!” All of a sudden, Felicity screamed as she watched a medium-sized truck crash into the right sideof their car.

Without much thought, she grabbed Bailey's arm and pushed her out with all her might. “Bay,remember to roll a few times after hitting the ground.”

“No!” Bailey screamed in desperation.

Trading one life for another like this might save her, but what about Felicity? How can I ever explain to

Artemis if she died in this traffic accident?

With a loud bang, the two vehicles collided head-on.

After being pushed out of the car, Bailey instinctively rolled several times on the ground, barelyavoiding the overturned car they had been traveling in.

She would have been crushed under the car had she been a second slower. I might have cheateddeath, but what about Mom?

Andy rushed over with bodyguards. “Ms. Bailey, are you okay?”

Bailey struggled to get up. “The car overturned, and Mrs. Luther is still inside. Send people over torescue her.”

As she spoke, her gaze roamed around the area, and she instantly spotted the vehicles that causedthe accident.

The three black vehicles were modified cars that had no license plates. They were racing in differentdirections—one east, one south, and one west—in search of an exit.

Upon noticing that, Bailey immediately took out her phone and sent a text message.

“Ms. Bailey, Mrs. Luther is in critical condition. She has a piece of car window glass lodged in the backof her head and is bleeding profusely.”

After putting her phone into her pocket, she rushed over to Andy.

One dead, and another severely injured.

The driver had died, and Felicity was severely injured.

Bailey's tears started streaming down her face as she looked at the middle-aged woman lying in a poolof blood. A murderous rage ignited in her eyes. Whoever is responsible will pay for this!

“Bay...” Felicity's weak voice brought Bailey back to reality.

She knelt down right away and held Felicity's arm. “I'm here. Look, I'm fine. I'm not injured.”

As she spoke, her tears continued to flow down her face.

Felicity grasped her hand and spoke in a gradually weakening voice. “I'm glad you're okay. I'm gladyou're okay...”

Waverly cried and exclaimed, “It's not okay at all. Why did you push me out? I was in front of you atthat time. The car would have hit me instead. Why did you do that?”

Felicity struggled to say, “Because I only have one life, and you have two.” She then fell into a coma.

She knew Artemis would have lost his desire to live if Bailey had died. In other words, she was not onlysaving Bailey, but she was also saving her son.
