Chapter 574

Am I ready for it? Well, at this point, what else can I do? I've already been told that Zeke and Shirleyhave officiated their marriage. It's obvious that I don't belong in his world. If I expect too much, I'm justgoing to trouble others and myself. I might as well forget about it and focus on the Hoffman family.Juliana considered the child as the best gift from God because the child would keep her company forthe rest of her life. I shouldn't be greedy. The more I want, the more I'll lose in the process.

“Thank you, Huntley. Although I don't know why you would help me, I know you don't have any evilintentions. I thank God for sending you when I was at my lowest. If not for you, I'm afraid I would'vealready aborted this child,” Juliana uttered.

In response, Huntley couldn't help but chuckle. I also met her when I was at my lowest. She's thereason I'm here today.

“You ought to stop overthinking and be careful in the next few days. I'm afraid that Mr. Raymond mightcome after the child in your belly. After all, he's not amused to see you pregnant with my child. He'safraid that he'll lose control over me after I've bonded with you. Therefore, he'll keep coming up withways to tear us apart. You must look after yourself,” Huntley said.

“Okay. I will. You should do the same.”

...

Early the next day in the private airport in the Luther residence, Artemis was tidying up Bailey's trenchcoat and urging, “Please stay in over the next few days. If you need anything done, get Ken to do it foryou. I'm leaving him here, so stop doing everything yourself. As for the anti-cancer medicationresearch, you can bring the machines home. Don't leave home. Do you hear me?”

Bailey nodded with a smile. “Don't worry. Why are you talking to me as if I were a child?”

Artemis then bent over to carry his daughter up into his arms. While caressing her head, he smiled andreminded her, “Stay home and keep your mommy company. If you need anything, call me. I'll bringback what you need from overseas.”

Instead of answering, Susan snuggled in Artemis' embrace and giggled.

Seeing that, Zayron pouted and gritted his teeth. “Are you guys done? One of you is all over thedaughter while the other one is showering the eldest son with love. Did you pick me up from the bin?”

Bailey immediately reached out her hand to smack the back of Zayron's head. “When you released thesnakes and injured dozens of people, I paid for all the victims' medical fees! Would I have done that if Ipicked you up from the bin?”

Zayron was rendered speechless.

Artemis, on the other hand, narrowed his eyes and gazed at Zayron. In a deep voice, he said, “Yourgrandparents are old, and your mommy isn't feeling well. Stop fooling around and making them mad.”

Zayron rolled his eyes and wanted to refute.

Right then, a chuckle rang out from behind. “Let Zayron come with me. I'm very fond of this child. Whoknows? He might end up leading the Shurmer family in the future.”

Everyone turned in the direction of the voice and saw Zeke walking toward them with an umbrella in hishand.

Zayron instantly ran toward Zeke and greeted him, “Hi, Uncle Zeke!”

Zeke threw his umbrella aside and carried Zayron in his arms. “It's all right. If they don't want you, Iwant you! I'll take you around from now on.”

With that, Zeke raised his gaze toward Artemis and said, “Be at ease, okay? I'll take care of Bay andthe kids. Don't worry.”

Artemis lowered his gaze to check his watch and nodded. “Okay. It's getting late, so I need to board theplane. Don't stay here, you guys. It's cold out here. Go back into the Luther residence.”

“I don't mind. I'll watch you board the plane, and I'll only go back in after your flight has taken off.”

Artemis didn't insist. He then put Susan down, kissed Bailey's forehead, and strode toward theboarding gate. novelbin

“He'll return safely,” Zeke said.

Upon hearing those words, Bailey retracted her gaze and smiled at Zeke. “I know. That's because he'snot going to leave his family behind.”

With that, she glanced at her kids and uttered gently, “I have something to talk about with Zeke. Youguys should head back in so that you won't catch a cold.”

As Zayron was walking away, he said, “Uncle Zeke, I'll pack up and go to the Shurmer residence withyou. I would like to see what exactly the Shurmer family has. Since they look down on Mommy, I'llmake sure they'll never prosper.”

Zeke smiled and nodded. “Sure. Pack some clothes then.”

Bailey couldn't help but frown and ask tentatively, “Does anyone in the Shurmer family have a history ofheart disease?”

Bailey was worried that the moment Zayron entered the Shurmer residence, the two older ones in theShurmer residence would end up in the hospital.

“None of them has a history of heart disease, but there's one unstable pregnant woman there. Evenbefore Zayron mentioned it, I was already planning to bring him there to wreak havoc.”

Bailey giggled and replied, “You're so evil, Mr. Shurmer. Zayron is capable of causing a fire in theShurmer residence in the middle of the night. Such a traumatic event can actually cause a miscarriagefor the unstable pregnant woman. You're willing to do whatever it takes to get what you want, aren'tyou?”

Zeke's expression turned grim, and he uttered casually, “Well, that kid isn't supposed to exist.”

Stunned, Bailey asked with her brows furrowed, “It's not? Is that not your child?”
