Chapter 514

Artemis and Bailey had been doing their best to hide their identities so the two factions wouldn't learnof their relationship.

If their relationship were exposed, an uproar within both organizations would be inevitable.

When Artemis saw Bailey sitting on a flower bed, he was no longer in a hurry to leave the car. He thengrabbed his phone and called Micah. “What's going on with the conflict in Gregan? Why did the Saviorsfight with Tarragon?”

After a brief silence, Micah sighed. “I received the news not too long ago, and I was just hesitating if Ishould tell you about it. I didn't expect you to be one step quicker than me. In any case, I'm not certainabout the details yet. According to what I know, the Saviors were the ones who provoked us first. Ourmen couldn't keep their cool, and, well...”

“Then investigate the matter and find out all the details.”

“Understood.”

Upon ending the call, Artemis sat in the car for a little longer to calm himself down.

Subsequently, he left the vehicle, approached Bailey, and squatted in front of her. He gently caressedher cheek and reassured her, “You don't need to think about those awful things with me around. Even ifthe sky falls, all you need to do is nestle in my embrace. I'll make everything okay.”

In response, she turned her face away while her eyes turned misty. She was clearly on the verge ofcrying.

Artemis' heart clenched when he saw her pitiful look. D*mn. That look on her face makes me want togive my life to her just to make her happy.

“Don't cry, okay?”

She ignored him and promptly began sobbing, tears streaming down her cheeks endlessly.

The sight of her tears made Artemis feel like crying, too. Even though people tell me women are madeof cotton, I've always thought Bailey's made of steel. But, at this moment, that doesn't seem to be true.Watching her cry is enough to break my heart.

“It's my fault for not managing Tarragon well, resulting in conflict and causing the Saviors to sufferimmense losses. If you feel you've let down your comrades, then feel free to stab me with a knife.”

Turning her head toward him, she slapped his chest. “You're bullying me, Artemis!”

Wait, what? I'm telling her that she's allowed to stab me, so how am I the one bullying her?

“I—”

Bailey buried her head in his embrace and bawled. “I'm afraid the whole world will oppose ourrelationship, Artemis. I don't think I can live without you.”

It was at that moment Artemis understood why she was throwing a temper tantrum. So, she's afraidthat the conflict between our factions will escalate to the point that it'll tear our relationship apart.

“That won't happen. I'm willing to give up everything for the sake of our relationship. If the world forbidsus from being together, I'll relinquish everything just to stay by your side.”

His words only made her cry even harder.

She was, indeed, afraid. At that moment, even the slightest bit of threat to their relationship wouldmake her feel as though the heavens were forbidding them from staying together.

He comforted, “Don't cry anymore, all right? You're making me lose my cool, too, which is something Ican't afford to do right now. There are still many things waiting for me to take care of. Be good, okay?”

Meanwhile, inside the guest room of Tarragon's branch, Yvette was video-calling Dominic. “Is Baileyreally the leader of the Saviors, Mr. Doyle?”

“That is correct. I've already verified it. She is the head of the Saviors,” Dominic answered.

As resentment flashed past Yvette's eyes, she tightened her grip on the glass she was holding. If thatwoman really does have the Saviors as a backer, it'll be much more difficult to deal with her.

“What do we do? Our leader loves Bailey and wishes to marry her. If they do marry each other, she'llbecome Tarragon's matriarch.”

An evil smirk abruptly formed on Dominic's countenance. “If Bailey's an ordinary person, this will bemore difficult to deal with. However, because she's the Saviors' head, she can never have arelationship with our leader. Don't forget about the grudge between Tarragon and the Saviors.”

Yvette slowly loosened her grip on the glass and allowed it to slip out of her hand, smashing into piecesupon hitting the ground.

“You're right. How can I forget about the grudge between Tarragon and the Saviors? If the two factionsare locked in a battle, Bailey and Artemis will become arch-enemies, and they'll never be able to betogether for the rest of their lives.” novelbin

Dominic cackled. “I'm glad you understand what I said right away. You're a smart kid. Anyway, let metell you some good news. Both factions have already started a bloody fight in Gregan, and both havesuffered major losses. The animosity between the two factions has been firmly established.”

Joy surfaced on Yvette's face. “Really? That's great! This saves me so much time. I'll mobilize my dad'sold subordinates and ask them to sign a joint statement. This will force the leader to launch an officialwar against the Saviors.”

Shaking his head, Dominic dissuaded, “You can't do that because it'll only make things worse. What'simportant right now is to inform everyone in Tarragon that Bailey's the Saviors' leader. Only then will webe able to eliminate Leader's idea to marry Bailey.”

She nodded in agreement. “I'll do as you say. Once we expose Bailey's identity, she'll becomeTarragon's number-one enemy and be boycotted by the masses. I'm curious if she'll still be able tomarry into the Luther family and become Tarragon's matriarch when that happens.”

“Mhm.”

Meanwhile, inside Dylan Black's office at the hospital, Genevieve placed a check for one million on thetable. “I want this matter to remain a secret between us, Mr. Black. No one else, including my husband

and daughter, can learn the truth. Do you understand?”

Narrowing his eyes, Dylan spoke hesitantly. “If the cat's out of the bag, the only person you'll hurt isyour daughter.”

“It's fine. Even my daughter is in the dark about this. I believe she can convince the Shurmer family thatthe baby inside her belongs to Zeke. You don't need to worry about anything else. All you need to do iskeep your mouth shut about how you obtained some random man's sperm from the hospital's spermbank.”

After staring at the check on the table that represented an exorbitant sum, he hesitated briefly andultimately failed to resist the temptation of money.

Then, he sighed and remarked, “If only Mr. Shurmer's sperms weren't all dead, then Ms. Gourdwould've been able to carry his baby and become the legitimate matriarch of the Shurmer family.”

Genevieve gritted her teeth. I'm still infuriated! Even though I spent so much effort removing Zeke'ssperm from the Shurmer family's cold storage, it was all for naught! I have no choice but to use thesperm of a random man as a substitute. Hopefully, Shirley can secure her position in the Shurmerfamily with this illegitimate baby. Once an intimate relationship between her and Zeke blooms and theyhave another baby together, I'll find a way to get rid of this random man's baby.

“I'll be counting on you for this matter, Mr. Black. If you have any difficulties in the future, let me know, and I'll do my best to help you out.”

“Okay. Two days later, bring Ms. Gourd to my laboratory. I'll conduct an in vitro fertilization for herthere.”

“All right.”

Meanwhile, Micah kneeled in the heavy rain before Holden's mansion. He was staring at the livingroom ahead of him coldly. “I failed to do what you instructed me to and caused your daughter to suffer,Mrs. Lewitt. Thus, I will remain kneeling here until you're willing to forgive me.”
